Overview
The Royal Statistical Society is looking for an outstanding, proactive and organised Marketing Officer to help plan, coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns across our diverse commercial and engagement activities.
Founded in 1834, the RSS is one of the world’s leading organisations advocating for the importance of statistics and data. We are a charity, a professional body for statisticians and data scientists, and a membership organisation with thousands of members across the UK and internationally.
This is a new role and an exciting opportunity to bring additional marketing capacity and expertise into the Society. You will drive and support campaigns that increase awareness, engagement, bookings, enquiries and income across diverse areas such as membership, training, events, the annual conference, advertising, sponsorship, partnerships and venue hire.
About the role
This is a hands-on marketing role with plenty of variety. Working closely with colleagues across the RSS, you will plan and coordinate multi-channel campaigns across email, web, social media, digital advertising, partner channels and other routes.
You will help turn plans into practical campaign action, making sure marketing is well-organised, audience-focused, delivered on time and measured for effectiveness. You will work closely with our Digital and Content team to coordinate website updates, content, newsletters and campaign assets.
What you’ll be doing
Day-to-day you will:
- promote RSS products, services and business areas including membership, training, events, conference, sponsorship and venue hire;
- plan, coordinate and deliver integrated and effective marketing campaigns across these RSS activities, working closely with key colleagues;
- draft and edit clear, audience-focused marketing copy for social media, emails, adverts, landing pages and promotional materials;
- create, schedule and monitor marketing emails and social media activity, including segmentation, testing and reporting;
- use CRM, campaign and marketing data to support targeting, customer journeys and evaluation;
- monitor campaign performance, including reach, engagement, enquiries, bookings, leads and income;
- help improve campaign effectiveness, audience targeting and ways of working;
- coordinate suppliers, agencies or freelancers where required.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with fantastic marketing skills and practical experience who is proactive, collaborative and confident managing multiple priorities.
You will need:
- experience of working to and achieving ambitious targets, including income generation and customer engagement targets;
- experience coordinating and delivering multiple marketing campaigns simultaneously;
- experience of email marketing, digital marketing and campaign administration;
- experience using CRM systems, customer data or marketing lists;
- experience monitoring and reporting on marketing performance;
- strong writing skills and the ability to produce clear, audience-focused copy;
- excellent organisational and project coordination skills;
- good attention to detail;
- an understanding of digital marketing channels and customer journeys;
- the ability to work with colleagues across different teams;
- a positive, proactive and customer-focused approach.
It would also be helpful, but not essential if you have
- experience in a charity, membership body, professional body or similar organisation;
- experience marketing training, events, conferences, membership or professional services

This is a hands-on communications role at an important time for GBSS. You will help us plan, write and deliver clear, compassionate communications that make a real difference for babies and families.
Later this year, the results of the GBS3 trial are expected, with a likely UK NSC review to follow. This represents a significant opportunity to influence policy, improve care, and help prevent group B Strep infection in babies.

Data Selections & Reporting Manager - FTC

The Data Selections & Reporting Manager leads the data selections function in the Data and Analytics team, ensuring data selections are scheduled, developed, tested and checked, and delivered in accordance with the agreed brief and deadlines. In addition, this role includes the line management of any external agencies providing data selections services. You will be backfilling the duties of the existing Data Selections & Reporting Manager for 9 months as they are part of the project team delivering Salesforce Marketing Cloud to ARUK.
This is an exciting time to join ARUK as we are in the process of an organisation-wide change to our Digital, Data and IT processes and services. There is the opportunity to revolutionise how ARUK conducts data selections as we seek to increase the sophistication of our marketing activity and deliver an excellent supporter experience.
This role is a 9-months Fixed Term Contract
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for ensuring all data selections are produced in an accurate, consistent and timely fashion, in accordance with agreed data selection briefs and deadlines
· Manage the scheduling of delivering data selections to ensure there is clarity on what data selections are upcoming, to manage any potential clashes and to plan and prioritise the workload
· Effectively liaise with and delegate work to all parties carrying out data selections, including any external contract services
· Develop an excellent process and structure for delivering data selections that guarantees their consistency and accuracy
· Work with stakeholders to ensure data selection briefs are completed correctly, definitions are clarified, and the final selection meets the criteria outlined in the brief
· Work with the Data & Analytics Lead to identify insight-driven recommendations for campaign planning, and to ensure testing within data selections is valid and robust
· Attend end of campaign meetings, and lead on the presentation of results and test outcomes and feedback on process improvements
· Work with the Data & Analytics Lead to drive forward innovations in data selections, such as using propensity models to identify the right supporters to communicate with
· Continually seek to improve the data selection process with the aim of automating and streamlining to improve the accuracy of selections
· Lead on the implementation of a campaign planning process focused on driving improvement in selection results through data-informed decision-making
· Play a leading role in the planning of the calendar to manage communication activities
· Provide advice and guidance to teams on the implications of Data Protection Legislation for data selections and ensure all data selections comply with this legislation
· Work with 3rd parties to ensure the timely and secure transfer of data selection files
· Provide training and assistance to stakeholders to assist them in following the data selection process

We are expanding our team and looking for a Marketing & Community Engagement Manager. This is a new role working with the Community Engagement Director to lead in the design and delivery of Suicide&Co's marketing and community engagement activity, helping more people discover our services, access support, and become part of our community through fundraising, volunteering and partnerships.
Working across the organisation, you'll develop engaging campaigns, build meaningful relationships with supporters, ambassadors and partner organisations, and oversee our digital communications to ensure they authentically reflect the voices of our community and tone of Suicide&Co.
Managing our Digital Content Executive, you'll ensure every campaign and piece of content delivers impact while supporting the continued growth of Suicide&Co's reach, reputation and influence.
