ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit to join the wider Compliance, Audit and Risk team at SIG! You will have the overall responsibility of keeping participants, residents, and staff safe. The team manages the development, monitoring, and reporting of several areas including but not limited to accidents, incidents, and near misses (AINMs), safety reviews, safeguarding, whistleblowing, complaints, policy and procedure, health and safety, internal audit, business continuity planning and data protection.

As The Head of Compliance, Risk and Audit, you are the lynchpin of the wider team, linking strategic vision with solid and accountable implementation. You will be responsible for developing the team in the broad space of compliance as well as in their own areas of specialism, ensuring that a transparent and accountable compliance framework is implemented and embedded in line with regulatory and legislative change.

Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. At least 2 days per week in central office (Islington) and our services which are in and around London, Brighton & Hove, Kent, Havering, Bedford, Luton, Nottingham, and Liverpool.
The additional 3 days can be worked from home. You may at times be required to visit a service more than 2 times within a week. 

Our Central Office is based a 10 minute walk from Highbury and Islington station, Angel station is a 15 minute walk away

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for someone who is methodical and detail oriented in their approach, who is a compassionate leader, able to set an example of our values (Ambition, Empowerment, Transparency, Inclusivity). You will have an in-depth and broad knowledge of all areas of compliance, with a background in health, social care or housing. You will be required to have excellent report writing skills, with the ability to coach and support others, able to influence a process led culture in respect to your area, and a keen interest in continuous improvement of services and a positive safety culture!

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Line Management and leadership throughout employee lifecycle this includes; Recruitment, Onboarding, Inductions, training, support and supervision, relations, wellbeing support, and other areas.
• Formalise Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to monitor objectives.
• Provide both line management and professional consulting using best available forums and mechanisms, including meetings, support effective teamwork and communication. Facilitate a culture where constructive challenge is welcomed, and conflict is managed supportively in line with relevant policies and procedures.
• Deputise for the Director as required.

Safeguarding, Audit, and Compliance

• Oversee the compliance audits across departments and services, providing support, and follow up with operational teams on a regular basis.
• Oversee the Safeguarding infrastructure, deputising for the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) as necessary. Oversee complaints and other processes and develop these to ensure they are safe, fair, equitable, and fit for purpose.
• Support services with commissioner led quality assurance framework (QAF) inspections and those registered with the CQC to maintain their portfolios and ensure they are ready for inspection at any time to retain their registrations.
• Promote and support a positive whistleblowing culture, assist Champions, People and Culture, managers and the audit and compliance team on concerns raised and ensuring the whistleblower is protected.

Reporting and Analysis

• Attend and develop AINMs review meetings for maximum impact in terms of positive safety culture. Ensure the lessons learned from AINMs reviews, safety reviews, and safeguarding concerns are shared and feedback loops are closed.
• Review the collation and analysis of AINMs and Safeguarding alerts, developing the Audit and Compliance team, as well as other operational teams in reflection and root cause analysis

Data Protection

• Monitor the use of external data protection and compliance partners to ensure we maintain ICO requirements and maintain our Data Security Protection Toolkit Certification.
• Monitor and ensure integrity in document control, policy, and procedures as they are developed, reviewed, and published.
• Understand and support an Information Security infrastructure alongside additional teams in the organisation and support Managers and teams with training and challenges where necessary.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in complaints and incident handling, safeguarding, data protection, and audits
• Proven experience in governance systems and structures which can include auditing, risk management, investigations, complaint handling, policy, procedure, and report writing
• Experience and/or ability to coach, develop, and manage direct reports
• Background in health, social care, criminal justice, and/or supported housing systems
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, and ability to confidently use and utilise Microsoft programs
• Adequate understanding of the importance and mechanics of document control and writing policy and procedure
• Working knowledge of health and safety processes and procedures
• Ability to write reports in a clear, readable format

Team Support and Line Management

• Line manage members of the Programmes Team (1-2 Programmes Coordinators).
• Oversee the contracting, payments and deliverables of in-country consultants and other suppliers.
• Lead the induction process for new Programmes Team members and other THET staff when required.
• Work with colleagues from across the team to identify areas for improvement and strengthening.

Miscellaneous

• Attend and present THET’s work at UK and international events, including the THET annual conference.

The role

This role will identify, develop and manage top food partners relationships and strengthen existing business relationships with companies in the food industry, generating value for the partner and to secure growing and sustainable volumes of surplus food for the FareShare Network.

For designated top food partners, you will be their day to day point of contact with regular face to face contact at all levels. You will undertake structured, strategic account management, leading and coordinating FareShare’s engagement across our organisation. This will mean agreeing and executing a bespoke joint business plan with each account to get more food, money and strategic support. You will also feedback on ways that we can better support our accounts and improve our services to them.

You will work directly and be on-site with top food partners to help identify and overcome the barriers which exist to giving surplus food to people in need as well as increasing money and strategic resource.

You will also be required to work closely with FareShare colleagues within FareShare and across the UK in our partner organisations in order to identify and understand opportunities for creating mutual and shared value.

Main areas of responsibility

Partnership Management

• Contribute to the development of consistent, structured Joint Business plans with designated accounts that take into account food, funding and other strategic initiatives to drive growth in food, money and other strategic resources.
• Work on behalf of the account to develop and embed services relevant to the account and
• agreed through the joint business plan – e.g. employability or store level redistribution.
• Execute joint business plans and report internally and externally on progress.
• Research and understand your accounts, including key ESG initiatives, waste streams, key personnel within the organisation that will help drive its success and engage the relevant internal departments through both desked based research and face to face contact.
• Proactively drive account forwards and progress these relationships with regular on-site visits and linking FareShare exec with key contacts.
• Keep up to date with industry and charity insights and ensure this is reflected back strategically across ways of working and account management

Project and Initiative Management

• Be responsible for managing and communicating key projects and initiatives to increase food volumes and strategic value, securing support from a range of stakeholders within food partners and across the FareShare network.
• Work closely with Supply Chain and Logistics, Operations and Network Development teams with the aim of optimising food out to our network
• Develop and lead FareShare cross-departmental strategic activity to enable us to derive maximum value from key food partners including liaising with fundraising, marketing and volunteering teams

Role Summary     

With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities   

Development of a Try Dry local product   

• With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area  

• Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up   

• Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer   

• Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience   

Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’  

• Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls   

• With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising  

• Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate  

• Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion   

 Relationship Management   

• Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact    

• Prepare data reports for each Local Authority throughout the year  

• Share insights into local data in engaging, easy to understand ways   

Wider support for the Communications and Marketing team   

• Enable other members of staff to use insights from the Try Dry® app and local user data in their work, evidencing the difference that our Behaviour Change interventions can make to individuals   

• Support the development of a range of content to highlight the benefits of the Try Dry® app, particularly around key campaigns such as Dry January, Alcohol Awareness Week and Sober Spring

About this role

The role of the Finance and Payroll Manager is to support the Development and Finance teams to manage and report on restricted income, as well as to manage monthly in-house payroll under the guidance of the Head of Finance. This involves ensuring that we are maximising the use of restricted funding, and that money is spent in line with donors’ wishes and that staff are paid accurately and on time each month. The Finance and Payroll Manager will work within a small Finance team under the supervision of the Head of Finance. They will work closely with the Joint ED, wider Senior Management Team, Head of Development and budget holders throughout the organisation.

They will support the Head of Finance with annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting as well as with the production of the monthly management accounts. They will support the Development team in making grant applications and develop restricted grant budgets for newly secured grants for integration into the organisational budget; they will meet regularly with the Development team and budget holders to review restricted project spend. They will produce reports for funders working in conjunction with our Development Team and casework teams. The Finance and Payroll Manager will contribute to a culture of continuous improvement of the finance systems, processes and grant management tools to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose.

Contract and location

The role is a full-time, permanent position with an annual salary of £50,571 per annum less any required deductions for Income Tax and National Insurance. 

 Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

Who we are

The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.

Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.

Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.

Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for someone to carry out maternity cover for our Programme Manager (Midlands & North). The Programme Manager role purpose is to lead on all aspects of service delivery within the Midlands & North area, which currently covers the following hubs: Birmingham, Solihull, Leicester, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Liverpool, Warrington & Oldham. This is a 10 month fixed term role with the opportunity to extend employment at the end of the contract.

This includes accountability for the delivery of our in person services, digital delivery (Player Profiles), impact, employability, regional fundraising, regional partnerships, business development and people across all regions in the Midlands & North. You will directly line manage at least 3 people but be responsible for a wider team of circa 15 people.  

This is a varied and hands on role that will be full of purpose. You’ll be joining a supportive and driven team that works hard to help young people change their lives. As a manager you will play a key part in the leadership of the organisation and driving the implementation of strategic plans on the ground.

It is important to us that this role remains embedded within the delivery of our interventions, therefore the post holder will be required to spend up to 25% delivering our programmes or working alongside staff for quality assurance.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced operations manager to join our team. We are looking for someone who will help strengthen the foundations of our organisation, as well as help us expand our growing network of partner organisations across the UK.

• You will be trained as a Big Green Heart facilitator with an expectation that you may be needed to facilitate a workshop during your time at the organisation.

• You will participate in professional and networking events related to Big Green Heart’s field of intervention.

• You will support staff members, trustees and volunteers, providing guidance and training in the operations of the charity as needed.

The Volunteer Manager (VM) is responsible for overseeing high-quality sourcing of volunteers to join as 1MM Mentors across the regions, which includes partnership development, online site listing, and matching mentors/mentees, general oversight of mentoring relationships in different programmes, implementation of safeguarding measures, fundraising, meeting growth targets and leading all aspects of mentor management. The role will help to establish a pipeline across the regions, with 5000 new mentors for 2024.  This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

1MM VM’s main tasks include:

• Helping 1MM to scale by sourcing sufficient volunteer mentors who go on to become confirmed matches for high quality mentoring relationships.

• Ensuring mentors coming online have completed the platform mentor training within 1 month, and that this conversion results in sufficient and timely readiness of mentors to meet the needs of programmes with one month’s lead time.

• Providing ongoing support to 1MM’’s Volunteer Providers (eg employer partners), maintaining strong relationships.

• Securing one corporate sponsor per quarter.

• Becoming familiar with the 1MM Platform, using it comfortably for ongoing administration and providing support to mentors.

• Providing a weekly update on various aspects of mentor recruitment, including expected supply, actual registration, and confirmed matching. Share lessons learned on volunteer conversion and matching with the wider team.
