As Policy Manager, you will play a key role in influencing national policy across priority areas including early years, prevention, public health, child protection and workforce. Working closely with our clinical team, members and partners, you will develop evidence-based policy positions and help ensure frontline expertise informs decision-making at the highest levels.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the co-development of evidence-based policy positions with iHV’s clinical team, members and partners.
• Monitor policy developments and identify opportunities to influence change.
• Produce high-quality briefings, consultation responses and reports.
• Build relationships with stakeholders across government, charities and the health sector.
• Gather, synthesise and apply frontline insight to inform policy development – including the production of iHV’s high-profile ‘State of Health Visiting’ survey and report.
• Work closely with the Systems and Digital Manager, applying digital and data expertise to leverage digital tools and emerging technologies (including AI) to strengthen evidence-gathering, inform policy development, and improve organisational effectiveness.
• Support delivery of policy elements of iHV projects and organisational priorities.
• Represent iHV at meetings and contribute to sector discussions.

About you:

We are looking for the following essential skills and experience:

• Strong understanding of UK policy-making processes and child and family health/ early years policy – ideally informed by experience working within or closely with government or public sector organisations.
• Exceptional writing skills, with a proven ability to produce authoritative, high impact briefings, reports and policy documents that are clear, persuasive and tailored to diverse audiences.
• Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and evidence from multiple sources and translate this into clear, practical and actionable policy recommendations.
• Ability to collate, synthesise and critically assess diverse sources of insight, including frontline practitioner perspectives, quantitative and qualitative data, to inform robust policy development.
• Experience developing or contributing to evidence-based policy outputs (e.g. briefings, reports, consultation responses).

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Interim Finance Director, the Governance Manager will lead and coordinate governance, compliance and organisational processes across CILIP.

You will be responsible for supporting effective decision-making, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and providing expert governance support to the Board, Committees and Executive Team.

This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery and is ideal for someone who enjoys driving good governance while ensuring operational excellence.

This role will join an ambitious programme developing the capacity of the Libraries Connected public library networks. We want to help them evolve as strategic partnerships able to deliver social impacts at scale and to secure resources and investment from national, regional and sub-regional government. Be key to the development of libraries as essential social infrastructure, and help them secure the resources they need to make an impact. 

The role is part of a small team of two Regional Managers, supported by an Administrator. 

By developing our existing regional networks into formal, resourced structures we can enable the regions to: 

• Secure investment for the service and for the libraries from regional and devolved / combined authority funds.
• Create unique regional offers to meet specific needs across and within the regional areas.
• Deliver at scale. For example, the Yorkshire & Humber regional network has 15 library services, and 348 library buildings. 
• Create opportunities for cost saving – through joint procurement and shared / collaborative services. 
• Share good practice and experience on a formal and integrated basis. 

We have 9 regional networks in England, covering all library services and ranging in size from 9 to 33 services. Within each region they provide hundreds of library branches, thousands of staff, and serve millions of service users.  They have a long tradition of working together as peer support networks and to deliver activities such as festivals, marketing, and staff training.

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialised nursing care and support for young people aged 13–24 with cancer. Every day, seven young people in the UK hear the words “you have cancer”, and Teenage Cancer Trust ensures they do not face it alone.

The charity funds specialist nurses and youth support teams in hospitals across the UK and provides vital emotional, practical and psychological support for young people and their families during and after treatment.

Regional fundraising is a core income stream for Teenage Cancer Trust, generating income through a combination of community and corporate fundraising. Supporters are often personally connected to the cause, including young people, families and communities directly impacted by cancer, making this a highly rewarding fundraising environment.

Teenage Cancer Trust is now seeking a Senior Relationship Manager (West Scotland) to grow and develop income across the West of Scotland. With an individual income target of c.£130k and a combined Scotland regional target of c.£260k across East and West Scotland, this role will play a key part in strengthening existing relationships while identifying and developing new fundraising opportunities across a region with significant growth potential.

Reporting to the Regional Fundraising Area Manager, you will be responsible for building long-term supporter relationships and developing strategic area plans to maximise fundraising opportunities. You will also work closely with frontline nursing teams, volunteers and colleagues across the organisation, ensuring supporters experience the impact of their fundraising while helping identify new opportunities across both community and corporate audiences.

As Senior Relationship Manager, you will:

• Manage and grow a portfolio of community and corporate supporters across West Scotland
• Deliver an individual income target of c.£130k across community and corporate fundraising
• Develop strategic area plans to drive sustainable income growth
• Build, steward and retain high-value supporter relationships

Role Description

The Operations and Finance Manager will play a central role in ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the Foundation. The postholder will lead on governance, administration, finance, compliance and organisational systems, ensuring the charity operates efficiently, meets its regulatory obligations and has the infrastructure required to deliver its strategic objectives.

Working closely with the Executive Director, team, Treasurer, and Trustees, the Operations and Finance Manager will oversee financial management, governance processes, organisational administration and operational planning, while also supporting fundraising activities to ensure the Foundation’s long-term sustainability and effectiveness.

Required Experience and Skills

Operations, Finance and Governance

• Proven experience in an operations or administrative management role within a charity, arts, or non-profit organisation.
• Understanding of charity governance and experience supporting Boards, Committees, or Trustees.
• Strong financial management experience, including budgeting and cash flow monitoring, invoice processing, payroll administration, project budget reconciliation, preparation of management accounts and financial reports, and coordination of year-end accounts preparation.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a track record of maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

People and Organisational Management

• Knowledge of HR processes, including recruitment, payroll, and fostering positive work culture.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential staff and organisational information.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Communications and Digital Skills

Role Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of Glitch, enabling the effective delivery and adherence to policies and regulation for the charity and team. The role holder will be the charity's data protection officer; they will meticulously ensure we remain fully compliant with all relevant charity regulations, maintaining our integrity and trust with regulatory bodies, funders and donors, and our supporters. This role will also serve as the Board Secretary, attending Board of Trustees meetings 4-6 times a year, taking minutes and managing the process of all documentation for the Board. As the Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Executive Director and our Finance Director in recruitment and hiring, finance and administration, and events support. This role requires some travel.

Our ideal candidate will have experience working with/in small, 100% remote charities; small SMEs; or, nonprofit or nongovernmental organisations. For this role, we are seeking candidates based in the UK, and they will need to provide evidence of their right to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Operations management

• Oversee the charity’s administrative functions, including triaging the general inbox, scheduling team meetings and other ad-hoc administrative work in supporting the ED in running the day-to-day of the charity 

• Maintain and improve existing operational systems and processes including information systems

• Organising travel suppliers and task related to charity events

• Manage relationships with external suppliers and service providers across recruitment, finance and personnel

• Support the development and implementation of organisational policies and procedures

• Ensure that invoices, payments, and expense claims are received and reconciled on the expensing system.

Governance and compliance

• Ensure the charity complies with relevant UK legislation and regulatory requirements, keeping abreast of any changes or updates

• Support the Finance Director and Executive Director on the preparation of the end-of-year statutory accounts and independent examination process

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and charity commission requirements

• Support the preparation of Board materials and Trustee meetings and Board activities

• Maintain accurate records and documentation, including sensitive and confidential files

• Ensure documentation is updated across our project management system: ClickUp, our expenses software, HR platform and travel platform

• Assist with risk management and insurance matters.

HR and Recruitment

• Lead on talent recruitment, leaning on our retained, legal team when needed

• Manage the onboarding process for new hires

• Manage HR functions, including maintaining personnel records, supporting recruitment and any other HR processes.

Essential qualifications and experience

• Demonstrable experience in a similar operations role for a small charity, start-up, SME, or philanthropic organisation 

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan ahead and intimate the next stage of tasks in projects

• Proactive problem-solving approach

• Comfortable and confident managing sensitive, high-importance charity governance documents

• Knowledge of operational management and administrative systems

• Outstanding organisational and time management skills.

Essential skills and attributes

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and strengthen SSAFA’s Community Volunteering Service, supporting serving personnel and their families.

You will oversee the full lifecycle of community volunteers, from recruitment and development through to supervision, ensuring a high-quality and impactful service.

You will work closely with the Serving Community Service Manager and wider SSAFA teams to deliver a sustainable service. This includes building effective referral pathways, strengthening partnerships across the Armed Forces community, and promoting SSAFA’s support through engagement activities and events.

A crucial element of the role is identifying and securing funding opportunities. Working in partnership with the Grants and Statutory Income team, you will contribute to funding applications and support the long-term sustainability of community volunteering initiative

You’ll be part of a small, friendly and supportive team, working together to deliver SSAFA’s vital support to the serving community through our Serving Community Support Team.

In this collaborative role, you’ll work closely with colleagues across SSAFA, as well as external partners and stakeholders, to raise awareness of the unique needs and challenges faced by the serving community—and how our services can make a real difference.

About you

You will have experience managing volunteers, ideally across dispersed locations, and a strong understanding of community service delivery.

You will be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail, and confident in analysing data and producing clear reports. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

You will also have a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, data protection requirements, and the importance of maintaining compliance across training and vetting processes.

A clear understanding of the Armed Forces community and the unique challenges faced by serving personnel and their families is essential.

About the Independent Service Manager role

We are looking for an experienced childcare professional to manage our England wide service for complaints under the Children Act (1989) and Independent Person service for Secure Accommodation Reviews for children placed in secure children’s home under section 25 of the Children Act (1989).

The role will be responsible for the delivery of this national service managing a group of committed and dedicated Associate Independent Persons, as well as managing the relationships with our commissioning authorities. You will have the credibility to work at a management level, and the skills and experience in the sector to support and manage people, relationships with commissioners whilst maintaining high standards of professional practice.

We want a leader who will build and develop our team of associate Independent Persons who act as Investigating Officers, Independent Persons, Stage 3 Panel chairs and panel members for Children Act (1989) complaints against local authorities, and Independent Persons for Secure Accommodation Reviews.

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring excellent service delivery that meets internal and external performance measures. They will hold responsibility for quality assuring work undertaken via contact with Independent Persons and scrutiny of investigation reports.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Conference and Events Manager to provide 12-month interim cover for our conference and events function.

The postholder will oversee the work of the Events team; consisting of an Events Coordinator and Events Administrator who are responsible for supporting the overall events programme. In addition, for the Conference Provision, there is a longstanding Volunteer Conference Organiser who holds significant institutional knowledge, an external Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) and a National Conferences Programme Advisory Group (NCPAG), who lead the process of determining academic content for the conferences.

Your role will be the staff lead to help shape future provision, hold key relationships and ensure the development of a successful 2027 event.

This is a time-limited role with the priorities for;

· the transition conference activity from a Volunteer Conference Organiser to an in-house staff function, establishing a clear structure, processes, timelines, roles and decision points ensuring forward planning, consistency and effectiveness of the Conference.

· lead on the development of in-house event programme for BABCP members to support their continuing professional development.

Steamship Shieldhall is seeking to appoint an experienced freelance Commercial Manager to build new income streams to support the ongoing operation, conservation and sustainability of one of the country's most significant historic ships.

Shieldhall is berthed year-round in Southampton and welcomes passengers and visitors on board from 110 Berth in the Western Docks. She is capable of carrying up to 220 passengers and from spring to autumn each year operates a programme of public sailings ranging from two hour trips to full day cruises. She is also open for alongside events, and is available for private charters. In addition, she can be hired for use alongside such as for training activities, meetings, functions and filming.

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for identifying and realising new opportunities for revenue generation for Steamship Shieldhall, as well as supporting Shieldhall’s experienced volunteers with maximising income from existing activities.

This commission is an important element of the “Steamship Shieldhall: towards 2055, the next 10 years” project which is supported by a Development Phase grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.  The appointment is intended to cover both the Development Phase and the first two years of the Delivery Phase of our  project but will include a break-clause between the two phases. The Delivery Phase contract is contingent on a successful Delivery Phase grant application to the Heritage Fund

The successful candidate will have the right to set their own hours of work and will determine in agreement with the Shieldhall charity how best to undertake the work. This commision could be provided through self-employed individual, partnership or limited company.
