We are now recruiting for a Lead Coach in Islington - an outstanding opportunity to work as part of a local church to deliver the Spear Programme.

You’ll be working with the local church to manage the delivery of Resurgo's award-winning Spear Programme. In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

The Lead Coach is primarily responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people. You will help shape the training environment and will confidently adapt and deliver materials and sessions to work within the group’s development towards work readiness.

Delivery of Spear Programme - Group and 1:1 coaching [60%]

• Preparing and coaching Spear Foundation sessions and 1-1s, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained and work-ready by the end of this initial phase of the programme.
• Building relationships with young people on the programme and managing culture, and attitudes in the training room.
• Adapting the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and managing behaviour effectively.

Delivery of Spear Career [20%]

• Delivering weekly Spear Career sessions (including running workshops with past Trainees), maintaining records and reporting on statistics, and creatively developing ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees.

Training the Asssistant Coach [10%]

• Contributing towards the training and developing of the Assistant Coach by modelling excellent coaching and giving regular feedback.

Trainee recruitment [10%]

• Developing relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure that the maximum number of Spear Trainees are enrolled on each programme. This involves liaising with referral agencies, active face-to-face recruitment and monitoring recruitment statistics.

Continuous professional development

• Continually engaging in professional development, including being part of Resurgo’s wider coaching programmes and supporting the Church Partnerships Managers with overall team training and development.

• experience in the delivery of community based services and support, including volunteer led services, events and services delivered by third parties. Including experience in quality assurance, development and meeting key performance indicators and ensuring community input and satisfaction.

• substantial experience of successfully leading and managing a large and geographically dispersed team of staff and volunteers, embedding change and fostering a high performing culture.

They are given support and guidance to aid their reablement, resettlement and rehabilitation post prison. Lead the design, launch, and management of the Foundation’s first in-house programmes.

Location: Hybrid, 2 days a week expected in our London Office. Those living outside the M25 can opt to not receive London Office Allowance and agree a more flexible office attendance pattern at offer stage.

You will be working within the Curriculum Team which sits within the Chief Social Worker directorate. The team oversees the design and development of Frontline’s programmes, including the Approach Social Work three-year master’s programme and our in-house practice education training known as the Consultant Social Worker (CSW) programme. 

The Curriculum Team is responsible for delivering teaching and learning to participants, designing and delivering assessment, marking, moderation and ensuring that robust quality assurance processes are in place. The Principal Curriculum Lead for Practice Education and Social Worker Development will be responsible for Practice Education and social worker development, providing strategic leadership and academic direction for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Practice Education CSW Programme and other training for students and qualified social workers. 

Some key responsibilities include:

• Provide vision and leadership for our Practice Education provision, ensuring programmes reflect professional standards, innovation, and best practice.
• Lead curriculum design and enhancement to maintain academic rigor, coherence, and alignment with PEPS 1 and 2 and Social Work England requirements.
• Lead and teach across the CSW practice education programme and Master’s Dissertation module, embedding innovative and research-informed pedagogy and contribute to teaching and assessment across other programmes.
• Maintain current knowledge of social work education, pedagogy, and practice through research and scholarship.

About the project 

The School Housing Advice Support Project builds on the success of a pilot program and aims to provide tailored housing advice and support to families, particularly those living in temporary accommodation (TA). The project started in January 2025 and is currently being delivered at three primary schools in the borough of Southwark.

The initiative offers practical housing advice, casework, workshops, and legal support through a collaborative partnership between Kineara and Southwark Law Centre. It also addresses challenges such as poor housing conditions, legal proceedings, and impacts on families' health and wellbeing.

About the role 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and compassionate support worker to deliver housing advice and practical support to parents from four Primary Schools in Southwark. This role involves conducting housing surgeries, providing follow-up casework, and running workshops to empower clients with the knowledge and skills to address their housing-related issues. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to identify their needs and offer tailored solutions to help them achieve sustainable housing outcomes. The role will be based mostly in Southwark, and you will be working in partnership with schools, community organisations and the council to coordinate tailored support for each client to avoid eviction and sustain tenancies, address suitability of the property, mediating with landlords where necessary and providing advice for onward housing when needed. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies or move to a better suited property, improve wellbeing and awareness of tenancy rights and housing polices.
