About the Suicide Prevention Consortium
The Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Health and Wellbeing Alliance is funded by the Department of Health and Social Care and is made up of 18 VCSE Members that represent communities who share protected characteristics or that experience health inequalities. Samaritans is proud to lead a Suicide Prevention Consortium which also includes the National Suicide Prevention Alliance (NSPA), and Support After Suicide Partnership (SASP). The Consortium aims to harness the collaborative efforts of its members to identify and prevent inequalities which lead to increased risk of suicide.

Our Participation Officer leads the management of the Consortium, connects people with lived experience to policymaking, and is involved in directly influencing Government and health system partners

You’ll have experience in policy, influencing and public engagement with the ability to bring the voices of people with lived experience into policy making, and have been directly involved in shaping and influencing government policy decisions.
You’ll have experience working with a wide range of stakeholder groups with an understanding of policy development in a large and complex organisation.

The Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Head of Finance & Operations to take ownership of all internal operations that ensure the organisation’s effectiveness, accountability, compliance, and resilience. Hours and place of work
- This is a full-time role to be fulfilled over a 35-hour week, ideally within the working hours of Mon-Fri, 9:30am–5:30pm, with flexibility as required.
- This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
- Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.
Terms, pay and benefits
- This is a permanent contract.
- Salary for this role will be ca. £55,000 p/a depending on experience.
- The post holder is entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to UK statutory holidays.
- The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.
- You have the option to join our contributory pension scheme. The employer's contribution is 3% with a minimum employee contribution of 5%.

We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK.
We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working with schools, sixth forms and further education colleges, the Head of Education and Content will support them to prepare for the lowering of the voting age to 16 and to engage their students in elections and democratic education.
The post holder will design and adapt resources, practitioner training, events and activities as well as manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders across the further education and civil society sectors.
Working with the Director and the Head of Programmes, the post holder will:

Collate, source and design learning resources for school and college teachers to use to support their students to engage in elections and democracy.

Support, build and manage relationships with schools and colleges.

The job is based on a 16-month contract, with likely extension (including a 6-month probation period).

Customers also attend Hope College which is facilitated via Slough Mental Health Team as part of their recovery process needed in preparation into independent living.
This is a great opportunity for any support worker to gain exceptional experience within the mental health field, based on the solid working relationship with (SCMHT) We have since implemented training directly from SCMHT to support staff with understanding Mental Health diagnosis and Managing Crisis with our customers in-house.

Allsorts' mission is to listen to, connect, and support children and young people under the age of 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans (LGBT+), or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

Within Mental Health and Homelessness services they will enable vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/ licences and move towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support package. While carrying out activities Bank Support Workers should deal with all customers, visitors and staff in a professional and appropriate manner and report to Look Ahead staff and management any observations relating to customers' welfare.

Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust Team Members, this is an exciting role leading on the delivery and development of creative and exciting literacy initiatives and an ambitious Reading Strategy at HMP Hewell, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.
Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
This role will be prison-based. About this key role
Our successful candidate will provide operational management support across one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales. You will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users, who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison, and provide leadership and operational management support in debt and welfare benefits to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of the contracts.
We will also rely on you to set performance objectives with FWCs and monitor progress, monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance to ensure compliance with policy and procedures, and to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with local Wales Probation managers and staff as well as other external stakeholders. Managing partnerships and ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff are also vital aspects of the role.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working in or managing services supporting challenging people, for example people who have complex needs and those who are reluctant to discuss their needs
- Experience of working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives and outcomes
- Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice
- Higher level certificate in money and/or welfare benefit advice from accreditation providers
- Wide range of money advice knowledge, budgeting, dealing with priority and non-priority debts, County Court/High Court options, insolvency options and a range of welfare benefits
- Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance in a team
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
