Fundraising and supporter engagement

• Engage and support individuals, communities and local businesses to fundraise for Duchenne UK, providing outstanding stewardship and care throughout their journey.
• Recruit participants for both ‘run your own’ and third-party challenge events (runs, cycles, walks, skydives, etc.), developing long-term relationships with supporters – including families directly connected to the Duchenne community.
• Manage and grow Duchenne UK’s community fundraising programme, including in-memory giving, birthday fundraisers, and local community initiatives.
• Respond promptly to fundraising enquiries and proactively inspire new audiences to get involved.
• Project-manage a calendar of third-party challenge events, overseeing logistics, communications, and participant stewardship from sign-up through to completion.
• Identify and develop new community and virtual event opportunities to grow income and reach new audiences.
• Recruit, support, and motivate volunteers to assist with events and community fundraising activity.
• Work with the communications team to promote events and community fundraising across digital channels and social media.
• Identify and cultivate supporters with potential for deeper engagement or major giving.
• Represent Duchenne UK at events, community gatherings, and external meetings to raise awareness of the charity’s work 

Internal processes and support

• Track supporter activity and income, monitoring performance against agreed KPIs and reporting regularly to the Director of Income Generation
• Collaborate with the Communications team? To develop compelling fundraising toolkits, resources, and materials to empower supporters to fundraise effectively.
• Lead on CRM database management for community and events fundraising, maintaining accurate and up-to-date supporter records, ensuring GDPR compliance, and developing processes that improve data quality across the team.
• Ensure all fundraising activity is delivered in line with relevant legislation, including UK charity law and Fundraising Regulator guidance.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential experience:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a fundraising, events, or community engagement role within the charity sector.
• A proven track record of meeting income targets and growing a supporter base.
• Experience engaging and supporting a diverse range of fundraisers including individuals, schools, community groups, and local businesses.
• Experience recruiting, supporting, and motivating volunteers.

Essential skills and attributes:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a wide range of supporters.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Confident using a CRM database and Microsoft Office suite; experience with online fundraising platforms (e.g. JustGiving, Enthuse).
• Understanding of UK charity law, GDPR, and Fundraising Regulator best practice.
• A proactive, creative, and solutions-focused approach to fundraising.
• A genuine empathy with Duchenne UK’s mission and the communities we serve.

Desirable experience:

• Experience in a health, rare disease, or neurodisability charity.
• Experience managing third-party or mass participation challenge events.

Desirable skills:

• Experience using social media for fundraising promotion and community building.
• Familiarity with GDPR compliance in a fundraising context.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Supporter Engagement Manager position is a pivotal role in the Public Fundraising team, comprising seven specialist Fundraisers.The post-holder is responsible for driving growth in our Individual Giving programme through a mix of acquisition and retention campaigns.

Key internal relationships include the Head of Supporter Engagement and the Fundraising management team.

The post-holder will work closely with the Fundraising Data Manager and the Community Engagement Manager on collaborative income generation and Supporter engagement activities.

The post-holder will be instrumental in shaping the Individual Giving and Supporter cultivation strategies geared towards increasing our Cash and Regular Giving Supporter base.

The Individual Giving programme includes Cash Appeals, Regular Giving (including Door-to-Door recruitment), Hospice Lottery, Challenge Events, Legacies and Supporter Care. There is a strong focus on digital fundraising.

  Role Purpose 
 
The Home from Hospital project in Newcastle is funded by the Northeast and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board. Preventing readmissions to hospital is crucial for the NHS. Re-admissions cost the NHS over £2 billion per year, and no-one wants to be in hospital when they can be recovering safely and comfortably at home. The project was developed to help enable older people to thrive back at home, and in the community, while at the same time supporting the NHS.
 
We recruit, train, support and coordinate volunteers, who provide a “little bit of help” to people who may be socially isolated, have health issues, or don’t have many people around them. Volunteers provide social, emotional or practical support, completing short-term tasks. This includes things like helping with shopping, collecting medical prescriptions, in person or telephone check in’s, driving someone to an appointment, helping with paperwork, ensuring the home is safe and secure, and more.

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and professional Engagement Manager to join our team in Newcastle.The right candidate would be someone with excellent knowledge of “best practice” in Volunteer Management and with experience of supporting older people.

It is essential that the postholder is agile, can work flexibly, is an excellent communicator, and can build strong working relationships with a range of people.

Role Purpose

Action Earth offers grants to help urban communities to respond to our nature and climate crises. Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, these nature grants support volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities in practical outdoor activities in Scotland’s cities, towns and villages.

We are looking for a talented, dynamic, and organised Engagement Manager to join our Action Earh team in a mainly administrative role. The right candidate would be someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate an understanding and total commitment to our organisational values. You will be joining an existing team of one part time Engagement Manager and a long-term volunteer who supports the project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

· Administration tasks including maintaining effective and accessible records using Microsoft Office, Google Docs, MailChimp and a CRM.

· Ensure monitoring, impact and evaluation information is collected

· To ensure that Action Earth meets it’s agreed targets, reporting format and schedule.

· Updating social media channels.

· Help create newsletters and other promotional materials

· Supporting successful applicants and monitoring project journeys.

· Supporting with quarterly and yearly reporting,

· Supporting with raising awareness of Action Earth, specifically targeting low SIMD areas across Scotland. 

· Attend any fairs or promotional events

Role Purpose
We are looking to recruit a talented, dynamic and professional Engagement Manager to join our team. In this role, you will lead all aspects of the Flintshire Befrienders project. 
Flintshire Befrienders is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and supports older people experiencing social isolation and loneliness.  Our team of Volunteer Befrienders provide companionship, help to build confidence, and encourage engagement in the local community.  The project consists of:

· One-to-one befriending in a person’s home, or over the telephone

· Community buddying – support to attend local community groups and events

· Volunteer-led events – activities that older people can engage in, based on their interests

The right candidate would be someone with experience of supporting and managing volunteers, working with older people facing isolation and loneliness, as well as someone who can work flexibly and demonstrate a commitment to our organisational values.

About the role

We’re looking for a Community Forester to help deliver woodland creation and management projects across Raise: Cumbria Community Forest.

This role will support the delivery of woodland creation and restoration projects with landowners, contractors, communities and volunteers across a range of sites. You’ll coordinate delivery on the ground, support contractor management and work directly on practical forestry activities as part of a small and growing team.

You’ll also support the development of new woodland opportunities and help expand Raise’s support for landowners across Cumbria. We’re looking for someone with practical experience in forestry, woodland creation, conservation or a related outdoor or land-based field.

About Raise

Raise: Cumbria Community Forest is a neurodivergent-led organisation working across 1,300 square miles of Cumbria. We work with landowners, communities and partners to create and care for woodlands that support biodiversity, climate action and people’s connection to nature. Our work combines practical forestry delivery with community engagement, skills development and long-term stewardship.

Working with us

This is a role that involves working across Cumbria, including regular visits to woodland and rural sites.

You will need to be comfortable working outdoors in a range of weather conditions and undertaking physically active work on uneven terrain.

The role includes practical forestry delivery, contractor coordination and community-based delivery activities.

A full UK driving licence is required.

You will regularly work with landowners, contractors, community partners and volunteers across a range of delivery environments.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is seeking an experienced and inspiring fundraising leader to grow community fundraising and events income, helping more people who are deaf or have hearing loss reconnect with the world around them.

The Community Engagement Manager is the project lead for the charity’s community engagement project, responsible for designing, delivering, and growing innovative and inclusive support services for children, young people, and adults affected by cardiomyopathy.

The post holder will build strong, supportive relationships with our diverse and growing team of community volunteers- many of whom have a personal connection to cardiomyopathy - providing them with ongoing support and supervision to develop and thrive in their roles.

About The Noah Jordan Foundation

The Noah Jordan Foundation is a fast-growing UK children’s charity established in memory of Noah, who died in 2024 from POLG mitochondrial disease, a rare and devastating paediatric mitochondrial disorder which can cause severe neurological deterioration and liver failure in children, and for which there is currently no effective treatment or cure.

Following Noah’s death, his family made him a promise: that his legacy would help change the future for children and families affected by mitochondrial disease.

The Foundation was established to deliver that promise through three charitable objectives:

Medical Research

Funding pioneering medical research to improve clinical management, accelerate the development of effective treatments and ultimately help drive progress towards cures for rare paediatric mitochondrial diseases, including POLG-related mitochondrial disorders.

About Care4Calais and the Legal Access Department

Care4Calais is a volunteer-based charity providing essential aid and support for refugees in France and the UK.

In northern France we operate year-round from Calais, working alongside communities in Calais and Dunkirk to provide warm clothing, bedding and service provision to displaced people who live in difficult and dangerous conditions.

Across the UK we collect and distribute clothes, shoes, mobile phones and other essential items, as well as providing psycho social support and interaction, including language lessons, sport and music workshops. We also help with vital access to medical and educational services.

Our Legal Access Department is an access to justice project that exists to support people seeking asylum in the UK by facilitating access to legal representation and offering holistic support to people throughout the asylum process. The department, made up mostly of specially trained volunteers, works tirelessly to ensure that people feel informed, empowered, and far less isolated and alone. We conduct one-to-one, complex casework for people seeking asylum for a variety of matters, over the years we have supported thousands of people to secure legal representation. Our current casework channels include securing legal representation and support for people’s asylum claims, challenges to unsuitable accommodation and potential removal from the UK (for example under the current UK-France ‘One in One out’ deal), and support for young people in their age dispute matters. Our teams work remotely across the UK. The Department seeks to adapt and amend our services based on the needs of the communities that we work with.

About the role

The aim of the role is to support and inspire volunteer teams to undertake the individual one-to-one casework and support that lies at the heart of what the Legal Access Department does, furthering access to justice for people seeking asylum and refugees. The Casework Manager will be responsible for the casework conducted by our Asylum Team, which focuses on securing legal representation for our client's asylum claims and offering holistic support through the difficulties of the asylum process. Casework managers will use their experience and understanding of the UK asylum system and conducting complex casework to guide their teams, working collaboratively with each other and the Head of Department to respond with agility to a fast-moving policy environment.

Responsibilities

Volunteer Management

• Lead existing team(s) of volunteers to undertake their specified roles as agreed with the Head of Department
• Conduct quarterly 1:1s with volunteers to give and receive feedback, reaffirm commitments, review caseloads, support with more complex cases, and ensure volunteer wellbeing. Escalate any issues and/or concerns to the Head of Department where necessary.
• Motivate and engage volunteers, taking into account the remote nature of the roles, collaborating with other Casework Managers.
• Facilitate regular team meetings and/or virtual drop ins for volunteers to ensure continued engagement and space to raise issues or concerns.

• Oversee the appropriate collection and management of confidential client information and data, ensuring that volunteers adhere to organisational policy at all times.

We are seeking a highly motivated, creative and strategically minded individual with a strong track record of developing and delivering successful projects who can identify new opportunities, build and maintain strong relationships, uphold established ways of working, and bring fresh ideas and energy to our creative programme.

The Projects and Community Engagement Lead will lead on the development and delivery of new creative, community and participatory projects; and will play a pivotal role in strengthening the organisation's engagement with its volunteers and audiences in communities across Dorset.

Working within a small team can at times be highly pressurised, so we require someone who can adjust quickly and contribute positively to a supportive and collaborative working culture. This role requires a flexible and adaptive approach to support our volunteer promoters and venues in delivering high-quality cultural experiences to their communities, ensuring our events meet their needs and interests; and to support the Executive Director in delivering the core performance programme with our volunteer promoters.
