Role Title: Community and Social Value Officer 
Reports to: Community and Social Value Manager

Role Overview: 

Reporting to the Community and Social Value Manager and joining the Community and Social Value Team, the postholder will work internally to support Enable services’ community work and externally to develop relationships and build capacity.

Internally, you will be working alongside Heads of Service and managers to support and expand the community work and social impact in services. This includes developing new projects, supporting volunteering, and leading on demonstrating Enable’s social impact in the 
community. Externally, you will develop relationships and partnerships with a wide range of voluntary and community organisations, corporate business and statutory organisations helping to link to Enable’s services and build capacity in the community.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:  

• Supporting Enable Services – working directly with each service to add capacity and expertise to develop and improve Enable’s community impact.   
• Social Value and Impact Measurements – leading the improvement of our social value and impact measurement work, in particular how our services measure impact, using different data collection techniques and developing regular case studies. 
• Developing data capturing techniques to regularly record data and track the organisations social value impact. 
• Volunteering – leading Enable’s volunteering offer including Enable’s staff volunteering programme, Community Enablers. In addition to increase volunteering opportunities across each service including the creation of volunteer roles and being a key resource for centralised support for recruitment, training and volunteer reward and recognition. 
• Community Engagement – developing relationships with local voluntary community sector organisations and understanding local need, challenges and inequalities. 
• Capacity Building – support the development and delivery of Enable’s capacity building support to small charities and voluntary organisations, including advice, funding support, monitoring and working closely with the local voluntary sector partnership. 
• Innovation and research – develop new ideas and initiatives to improve Enable’s impact and ability to connect communities.
• Support Enable’s strategy and ambitions to grow by highlighting our impact, providing case studies, supporting funding applications and tenders.
• Lead the writing and production of the annual Impact Report. 
• Champion community and social value work within the organisation 
• Represent Enable at conferences and events and confidently presenting Enable’s work.

Role description:

We are excited to be seeking a talented and motivated individual to join Southampton Hospitals Charity as our Hospital Engagement Co-ordinator.

As a key member of our fundraising team, you will play a vital role in driving supporters and stakeholders to the Charity’s Hub to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity. This role will provide the right candidate with a rare opportunity to help shape how we engage with donors, visitors, patients and NHS staff in our Hub based in the heart of the hospital.

We are looking for an individual who is as passionate about making a difference and a real people person. This role will be key, as we continue our ambitious new strategy to grow our income, reach and impact. Main Responsibilities:

• To maximise onsite donations by driving supporters and stakeholders to the Hub to build a real sense of community spirit and a hive of fundraising activity.
• Collaborate across the charity with our Grants, Marketing and Communications team to co-ordinate charityactivity and implement a hospital engagement and communication plan.
• To work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to identify where collateral can be placed and make sure when items are out of date to remove these and engage with hospital staff to place new posters/flyers within the wards.
• Engage and develop strong working relationships with hospital staff members. · Devise a patient fundraising pack for us in the Hub and across the hospital site.
• Working with UHS staff groups, identifying fundraising champions within the hospital and increase the amount of footfall to the Charity’s hospital hub.
• Collaborate with the community and events fundraising team to recruit and relationship manage hospital staff as part to take part in events.
• To keep up to date records of all collection boxes held within the hospital. · To ensure that all donation processing and onsite administrative duties are carried out effectively and efficiently
• Regularly review and adapt supporter communications, including thank you letters and ensure these are implemented across the organisation for consistency.
• Support with the management of our tap to donate machines, identifying areas around the hospital where we can maximise donations and work with hospital teams to identify areas we can place more.
• To deliver excellent relationship management, ensuring a positive working relationship with hospital colleagues, as well as meaningful and supportive relationships with patient family fundraisers.
• To ensure all activity within team remit complies with the Charity’s values, moral and ethical guidelines, the Fundraising Code of Practice and other relevant regulation and guidance.
• To maintain accurate records of supporter interaction on our CRM system to aid delivery of an exceptional supporter experience and to harness the value of data.
• Provide support in the Charity’s hospital engagement hub, working within the hospital engagement team and covering the welcome desk, supporting with answering emails and telephone calls.

Play a pivotal role in supporting doctors and medical students in times of need by leading a passionate national volunteer network. As Volunteer Manager at RMBF, you’ll shape and grow our volunteering community, driving engagement, awareness and fundraising impact across the medical profession.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop RMBF’s national volunteer programme, working with a network of doctors and medical students across the UK.

As Volunteer Manager, you will lead and grow our volunteer strategy, strengthening engagement, expanding our reach within the medical community, and empowering volunteers to play a vital role in fundraising, awareness‑raising, and championing our work within their professional networks.

You will shape how volunteering works at RMBF, developing new opportunities, improving the volunteer experience and ensuring our network is equipped to support the charity’s mission and reach more doctors and medical students.

The Role

Doctors and medical students are central to RMBF’s identity and impact, and this role is designed to ensure we build and sustain an engaged, well-supported and effective volunteer network. Role and Responsibilities

As a key member of our small, friendly staff team, you will lead the development of fundraising from individuals, businesses, trusts and foundations, and community groups. We are looking for people with great energy and motivation to join our Short Breaks service which offers a chance for young people with an additional need/ disability to have fun and a break from daily routines, and helps families to enjoy quality time, local activities, and connections with others.

2 x CYP Coordinator- Short Breaks- 30 hours- Ashford and Swale, Canterbury and Thanet

Our holiday and weekend activities give parents and carers a break while providing participants a safe, welcoming space to have fun and receive the care they need. Our coordinators plan, arrange and deliver a programme of activities shaped around the needs of the young people, making the most of local opportunities, from heritage sites and outdoor adventures, to sports, arts and crafts, cooking, and team challenges. These sessions help children build friendships, grow in confidence, and express themselves in a fun, supportive space.

1 x CYP Coordinator- Short Breaks Family Days- 30 hours- Kent wide

Family days bring families together to create special memories and enjoy time with others who share similar experiences. The coordinator develops and facilitates activity days which involve the whole family and provide opportunities to build friendships and connections with others. Activities take place at outdoor centres, local heritage sites and museums, as well as organised beach days and community centre-based workshops and activities.

Applicants should have relevant experience of working or volunteering with children and young people in education, health or social care, and have exceptional organisation and communication skills. 

The roles are 30 hours per week, working Wednesday to Saturday. In school holiday periods, more activities take place on weekdays (instead of Saturdays), so flexibility is needed.

It’s essential that applicants have their own car and are willing to drive a minibus (full training provided).

Job Description

As a senior member of the Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity (BWHC) Fundraising & Marketing team, your main objective is to lead the development and management of our community fundraising programme to maximise income to meet annual targets.

You will play a vital role in stewarding effective relationships to maximise support from our existing supporters and crucially, for driving new donor acquisition to ensure the sustainability of our work.  Developing our community fundraising programme is essential to our income base and profile. Central to our work is supporting our volunteer fundraisers, driving participant numbers for challenge events, recruiting and engaging volunteers to help raise awareness of the impact of our hospitals across Bristol and Weston. Crucially, delivering on our 2025-2030 strategy alongside the rest of the Fundraising and Marketing team will be a key part of your role.

Supported by the Head Public Fundraising, you will develop strategic and operational plans and budgets for your operational area to meet growth targets and you will ensure to focus on the objective of focusing on current and lapsed supporters.

This is a dynamic and varied role where you will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, marketing and hospital teams to deliver our 2025–2030 strategy and bring our community closer to the charity’s mission.

Key Accountabilities

Community & Events Fundraising

• To maximise fundraising income by managing and delivering overall recruitment and stewardship of fundraising groups, individual supporters (including in memory fundraisers and funeral collections), ambassadors and volunteers
• To develop and manage the team, empowering them to deliver the BWHC ‘In Aid of’ strategic plan, focussing on expanding the network of supporters who fundraise for and are happy to represent BWHC externally
• To develop, manage and deliver the BWHC Community Group plan, focusing on acquisition of new supporters and development of our retention plan
• To raise income and profile through the development, management, promotion of a portfolio of events (BWHC events, third party events and In Aid of events), ensuring maximum participation
• To develop and manage the team to deliver stewardship of in memory fundraisers and income from funeral collection
• To work with the Hospital Partnership Manager to develop a strategic approach to increase levels of hospital staff fundraising
• To manage and develop BWHC’s trading offer, including overall management of the physical Fundraising Hub and development of online shop
• To ensure exceptional, personalised but proportionate donor stewardship including continued development of product led stewardship e.g. in celebration
• To oversee the recruitment, training, stewardship and management of volunteers to provide support across the charity
• To work with the Brand & Marketing Team to create and deliver a media programme to maximise participation in BWHC activity
• Supported by the Head of Public Fundraising, to work with the IG & Legacy Manager and Supporter Experience, Data & Insight Team in particular to define, develop and deliver cross-portfolio supporter journeys and consistent supporter care.
   

Leadership & Management

• To provide strong leadership and management to the Community Partnerships & Events Fundraising Officer, Community Partnerships & Event Assistant and Volunteer Officer to ensure they are encouraged and motivated to perform at their best, fulfil their role and achieve agreed targets/KPI’s.

Strategy and Planning

• Contribute to the development and review of Fundraising & Marketing strategy.  
• Accountability for Community Fundraising plan and maximising long-term growth in this area
• Develop, implement and monitor annual operational plans, budgets and income forecasting, and ensure internal reporting is completed
• Ongoing evaluation of activity to ensure maximised return on investment
•  Keep up to date with relevant legislation and developments which affect the charity
• To contribute to the overall work and reporting of the fundraising and communications team through excellent team-work and cross-team working

The Community Fundraising Manager is responsible for leading and growing the hospice’s community income portfolio, driving sustainable voluntary income through grassroots engagement, volunteer mobilisation and campaign development.

The post holder will hold accountability for income generated through all community fundraising activity, alongside key community campaigns such as Rudolph Run, Bunny Hop and Coffee Morning.

They will develop and implement a community growth strategy that expands geographic reach, strengthens supporter stewardship and builds a structured volunteer programme to extend capacity and deepen local engagement.

The Community Fundraising Manager will lead high value community supporter relationships, provide operational oversight of campaign delivery and line manage the Community Fundraiser to ensure achievement of income targets and excellent supporter experience.
