This important role will represent FareShare Sussex & Surrey engaging with corporate partners and key stakeholders such as council leaders, politicians and dignitaries across the region. 

Using your experience in engagement and relationship management you will work to consolidate existing partnerships and seek new opportunities across Sussex & Surrey, working to build strong relationships locally and encourage partnership, donations, sponsorships and corporate volunteering. The development team has an ambitious target of £1 million to raise, through various streams including corporate partnerships, individual giving, trust applications and other fundraising activities each year. The role will manage the corporate income stream and requires collaboration with all income generation to ensure effective management and stewardship of all partners.

You will develop an exciting donor journey which engages and encourages support from businesses and key stakeholders. Working with high-value supporters to maintain a good relationship with the organisation and fostering new partnerships. 

You will also work alongside our food Supply Manager to help provide a holistic partnership with our suppliers, encouraging them to support our work across the ESG / CSR spectrum.

Duties and responsibilities  

Business Development and Relationship Management 

• Act as main point of contact for existing corporate partners and stakeholders

• Build strong relationships through a stewardship programme to engage with partners in a variety of ways on a regular basis

• To provide the highest quality supporter care, working in partnership with the business to engage with its staff, maximising fundraising and retain support for the long term

• Support with engaging FareShare national partners where required

• Capture feedback from businesses to adapt our propositions

• Engage with with external stakeholders to develop effective activity plans, with clear objectives and outcomes to engage with new and existing corporate partners and other stakeholders

New Business

• Work closely with the Development Team to identify new business opportunities (including charity of the year partnerships) and to develop new relationships with stakeholders across Sussex and Surrey

• To research and approach companies to maximise fundraising opportunities,Develop and promote sponsorship opportunities and corporate partnership offerings

• Create engaging proposition presentations to approach new businesses engaging with them and s other such stakeholders regularly, hosting visits and attending meetings where necessary

Reporting and Monitoring

• Provide regular reporting for trustees and the Development Team

• To monitor and evaluate all aspects of the partnership, reporting on income and engagement. 

• Regular indepth bespoke reporting for our funding partner

• Work with the Head of Development on creating forecasts and budgets

• Ensuring records are maintained through our CRM system, Donorfy

• Adhere to data protection regulation and have an understanding of the Fundraising Regulator guidelines

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Sport Team. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our Opportunities Programme as Sports Manager. In this role, you will play a vital role in overseeing our in-house and community-based Sport Project. Your aim: To help make physical activity accessible to those experiencing homelessness.

About the role:

As the Sports Manager, you will be responsible for The Sport Project. You will be overseeing the day to day running of the project and management of the team including Sports Coordinators, freelancers, volunteers, and peers. You will be leading on expanding the reach of the project, forming partnerships with like-minded organisation and charities and advocating for the importance of physical activity within the homeless sector.

In your role, you will also manage relationships for grant givers and funders, including being responsible for budgets, reporting and reconciliations. Additionally you will support the team in the wider role out of the project across the homelessness community, at time this may involve helping to deliver a proportion of physical activity and helping to engage wider groups of participants and staff.

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role, include developing positive and sustained relationships with external partners and helping to make physical activity accessible.

About the role 
We are looking for someone who wants to make a real and lasting difference to people’s lives, taking the lead on generating the income required to deliver the Farm’s services and maintain our central functions and infrastructure. With support from the Farm’s Director, who is an experienced fundraiser, you will develop and implement the fundraising strategy for the Farm, leading on the delivery of key activities, initiatives and opportunities. 

You will confidently take on the leadership of the Farm’s well-established fundraising from trusts and foundations, growing our unrestricted income base and attracting multi-year funding to support our projects. Your experience will also enable you to take the lead on establishing a new individual giving programme for the Farm, creating and implementing a stewardship strategy alongside the Marketing, Events & Communications Operational Manager. We anticipate that the postholder will spend 75% of their time managing and growing our existing trusts and foundations portfolio and 25% on building a new individual giving programme. We are looking for someone with experience (or demonstrable transferable skills and knowledge) and a willingness to work on both areas.

Community Fundraising Officer – Temporary Position from May 24 for 6 months (£24-25k)

Remote working with regular travel to the West Midlands and London as required

We’re building our new fundraising team and this temporary role will play an important part in accelerating our ambitious plans to increase annual income during 2024/25.

You will become the fourth member of the Fundraising Team (there are 3 full time staff) and will help to support the fundraising team.

Sepsis is the immune system’s overreaction to an infection or injury. There are over 245,000 cases each year in the UK with approximately 48,000 deaths. UKST aims to reduce preventable deaths from this ‘killer’ condition. We achieve this by:

· Raising awareness

· Supporting those affected by sepsis

· Educating health professionals

· Lobbying political organisations for better sepsis and severe infection care

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver supporter journeys i.e. fundraising resources and stewardship communications to maximise supporter numbers, retention and engagement.

2. Use UKST’s CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to accurately capture fundraiser information and key data contributing to the improved development and implementation of fundraising processes.

3. Communicate proactively and effectively with team members to pass on all relevant information, deliver excellent supporter care and to maximise fundraising opportunities. 

4. Provide excellent customer service members of the public, either via phone, mail and in person, help to develop Fundraising activity whilst also offering our Support Services where necessary.

5. Represent the charity as and when required in schools, local businesses, and community groups, including speaking at events if – not essential

6. Keep up to date with best practice in fundraising and ensure compliance with the latest legislation and guidelines.

7. Assist in prioritising & managing enquiries about our Community Fundraising Programme via our dedicated inboxes.

8. Work collaboratively with the fundraising team and our Communications and Marketing Team to ensure maximum press and social media coverage is obtained for UKST’s community fundraising activities.

Day to day activities will include:

We are looking for a Digital Project Manager to join our ambitious and growing type 1 diabetes charity, JDRF, as part of the digital and marketing team.

As a digital professional with previous charity or digital agency experience, you will be at the forefront of helping to drive digital transformation, building awareness of the work we do and the life-changing impact of type 1 diabetes.

You will support the implementation of a digital programme plan to carry out the development and refresh of several digital products and platforms in line with user needs and business objectives. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, digital agencies and platform providers to ensure that developments meet quality standards around design, usability, user experience and accessibility, ensuring excellent experiences for our audiences. You will help co-ordinate tasks and resources and track project progress, contribute to user acceptance testing and content audits and updates. You will also be a confident advocate for UX best practice and building brand awareness.

An experienced digital professional, you may have worked for a charity or digital agency before in a similar role. You will be motivated by delivering high quality digital products and will be familiar with a range of digital channels and platforms. You will be ever-curious, always seeking to improve your skills and adopt new approaches.

• Digital project management

• Working with digital agency suppliers including developers

• Collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders

Job Title: Community Nurse

Location: Christopher’s, Guildford and Community based

Job purpose

The post holder will be responsible for providing holistic care and support to children and young people (CYP) who have life-limiting conditions and their families as a key member of the community team. This care is provided in the family’s own home, in the community, and support into the hospices and acute settings.

The post holder will be the first point of contact for families following acceptance to the service and the nurse is responsible for undertaking a holistic assessment of the child and family’s needs. The post holder will provide high quality palliative care to CYPs under the care of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, using their skills and expertise in a diverse range of situations, autonomously and as a member of the community team. The post holder will have excellent communication skills, be a sound educator, and work proficiently.

They will work closely with the SSCH in house team, family support team and symptom management services to ensure a seamless and comprehensive service to CYP and their families.

SSCH care is provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the post holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of planned and emergency care, including on calls overnight and weekends in addition to contracted hours.

Key tasks and Responsibilities

• Providing professional clinical leadership in the provision of palliative care across care settings for CYP under the care of SSCH.

• To work in partnership with the SSCH care teams and wider MDT, demonstrating excellent communication skills to ensure high quality seamless care.

• To ensure that holistic care is family centred, research based, and meets with all statutory requirements and adheres to clinical governance initiatives and best practice.

• Provide support to CYPs and their families where required through community visits to hospital, home or hospice alongside relevant external professionals from statutory services.

• Maintain an awareness of the multi-cultural nature of the SSCH catchment area, adapting care culturally as required.

• To ensure all documentation is maintained in accordance with SSCH policies, guidelines and standards.

• To act in accordance with the SSCH and statutory Safeguarding Children Policy and Procedure.

Clinical

• To be actively involved with the on-going development of the SSCH care service, in particular the community team, contributing to development through research, audit and quality improvement.

• Provide clinical support and continuity of care to CYPs with palliative needs.

• Work alongside specialist symptom management teams to assess symptoms and provide clinical feedback to form part of decision making under the lead of the specialist services.

• Ability to follow an agreed symptom management plan and liaise with teams to offer high level care in the home as needed.

• Working in partnership with all members of the MDT, encouraging and promoting effective team working from all disciplines within SSCH.

• Attend professional meetings as a representative for SSCH and provide proactive input to ensure high level care for CYPs and families.

• Coordinating transition to adult services when appropriate in conjunction with the transition coordinator.

• Ensure written communication and correspondence is used to communicate with external professionals and services.

• Form part of the community on call service in conjunction with statutory services to endeavour to offer a responsive 24/7 service in end of life care.

Quality / Audit / Research

• Enhancing the interface between the community team and user involvement into the development of the service.

• To share professional expertise with Care Team colleagues, providing support and training where appropriate.

• To work to the SSCH medicine policy and adhere to the NMC guidelines at all times when giving medication.

• Participating in audits with the clinical governance facilitator to maintain and improve clinical care.

• In collaboration with the team, producing and reviewing operational policies and procedures specific to the team.

• Attending the Morbidity and Mortality meeting and having a proactive input.

• To take responsibility for your own lone worker safety, support the team and comply with SSCH policy/practices.

• To adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.

• Supporting research activity through service user recruitment and data collection as required.

Leadership

• Attending appropriate clinical meetings.

• Reporting all incidents and accidents in accordance with local policy.

• Taking prompt and appropriate action if a complaint is received in accordance with SSCH policy.

• Communicating with the MDT, providing case presentation for a unified approach to care for CYP and their family.

• To take a lead on a specific role within the team, for example – transition or medicines management.

• Actively participate in team away days to support with development of the community team.

Education

• To be responsible for your own on-going education and professional development, to facilitate lifelong learning which complies with the professional educational requirements of your training.

• To take responsibility to undertake all required elements of annual mandatory training i.e. Fire Safety, Safeguarding Children, Infection Control, CPR, Moving and Handling.

• To recognise the importance of personal and team support and participate in the informal and formal support opportunities available.

• To act as a mentor to student nurses and new staff and participate in the education and development of colleagues. Sharing professional expertise, providing support and training where appropriate.

• To participate with in-service training programmes both as a recipient and facilitator.

Professional

• To value the knowledge, skills and expertise of all team members to maintain an efficient and mutually respectful team.

• To ensure that Team Members and Team Leaders are fully informed of any changes in the family or child's needs.

• To act as an ambassador for SSCH.

• To ensure the relevant diaries are an accurate reflection of your whereabouts, when working in the community, to promote personal safety.

• To maintain positive and effective communication with other agencies involved with the care of families receiving a service from SSCH. To attend discharge planning, network and review meetings as appropriate.

• Prioritising workload to be responsive to a changeable caseload.

• External communication either written or verbal to update on the community teams input in to CYPs care.

• To participate in the appraisal and personal development mechanisms available.

• Ensure that SSCH policies are complied with and that policy documents are read.

• Report any equipment issues to the community nurse team lead and ensure that SSCH equipment is well looked after.

• Always adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct

• To ensure clinical notes are up to date to ensure colleagues are able to access the most current clinical information.

• Meet the requirements of revalidation and ensure continued registration with the NMC.

• Valuing and participating in clinical supervision and other support opportunities.

• To maintain budgetary awareness and foster effective use of all resources.

• Expectation to carry out any reasonable duty as requested by the Head of Symptom and Community Services and/or the Director of Care

Reporting to the Centre Manager, they will engage new and existing supporters and achieve income targets, raising vital funds across events and community fundraising to support of our mission.

Duties and responsibilities

• Leading on Smart Works Newcastle’s signature fundraising events, including high-end supporter events, fashion sales, and pop-up shops, managing the project from planning to execution and ensuring income targets of circa £55K are met.
• Effectively steward and manage multiple event partners to increase annual gift-in-kind support, clothing donations and engagement.
• Manage all external stakeholders involved in an event, sharing event briefs with the staff and trustee team.

• Working with the London HQ Community Fundraising Manager, to deliver our annual community fundraising campaigns such as Cycle for Smart Works and local events such as the Great North Run to income target c. £20k.
• Deliver an event from concept to delivery, ensuring key metrics are shared with the Communications Assistant to update our stakeholder groups accordingly.
• Supporting the team with other income generation streams such as grant applications, corporate relationships and working with the London HQ functions for each stream.

Personal Specification 

Essential criteria

• Demonstrable experience in event management and delivery, raising income in excess of £55k per annum. Event management in a fundraising capacity is highly desirable.
• Strong relationship building skills and confidence managing various stakeholders.
• Target driven with excellent organisation and time management capabilities, demonstrating an ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
• Effective project-management skills, with proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience of writing applications for charitable trust grants is highly desirable.
• A detailed understanding of the fundraising landscape across Newcastle is highly desirable.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office (including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel) and digital content creation software such as Canva and Adobe InDesign, for professional settings.
• Experience in a fundraising or sales-based role.
• Experience working with VIPs or influencers.
