Beacon is looking for a friendly and enthusiastic youth engagement worker to work as part of a small team to deliver our SHINE offer to young people. SHINE offers early intervention support to all 11-17 year old’s in Stockport to provide information, advice or guidance regarding their emotional wellbeing. It includes: 2 weekly wellbeing groups, a weekly arts group (delivered by Beacon’s partner), signposting and advice. Collaboration with other professionals to deliver a consistent and coordinated service, maximizing outcomes for service users, is essential.

A warm personality and the ability to work in a person-centred manner, even in high-stress situations, are crucial. A clean driving licence and access to a car is beneficial. The Newham Mental Health Team, based at Flying Angel, operates weekdays from 9am to 5pm, offering support to individuals with low to medium mental health needs both in the building and the community. About the Role:

The Nightstop Coordinator role is busy and varied role, it involves working with young people from when they approach the service to when they find longer term accommodation. You will be responsible for being the first point of contact for all young people, assessing each young person’s needs and risks, finding short and long term housing options, organising the logistics of each Nightstop placement and making sure that each Nightstop placement is safe.

You will also lead on the promotion of the service with the aim of recruiting new Nightstop volunteers. The role will be based in the London office and cover referrals from young people in London.

· Conduct needs and risk assessments and arrange Nightstop placements

· Support guests and volunteers through a 24-hour on-call service when required

· Recruit, onboard and engage new volunteer hosts

· Promote the service at events and meetings, building strong relationships with partners

· Maintain accurate records and support reporting processes

· Ensure safeguarding and health and safety requirements are met at all times

About You:

We are looking for someone who is committed to supporting young people and has the skills to work calmly and effectively under pressure. You will bring:

· Experience of working with vulnerable people or people experiencing homelessness

· Understanding of housing and homelessness legislation and safeguarding procedures

· Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Confidence in working collaboratively with a range of partners and stakeholders

· Flexibility to take part in an on-call rota and occasional evening or weekend work

You will support service users in various activities, including employment, volunteering, community engagement, and daily living tasks at home. We are looking for someone with a great sense of humor who enjoys being part of an energetic team.

Your role includes encouraging service users to engage in exciting social activities both within and outside their homes and developing warm, trusting relationships with service users and their families, ensuring they enjoy their time to the fullest.

We offer both full-time and part-time hours with a willingness to work sleep-ins and cover various shift patterns (early, mid, late).
