Join our team supporting Young Adult Carers, aged 16-25 years, who have caring responsibilities for someone in their family due to disability, long-term illness, mental health, or drug or alcohol misuse. The team covers Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley & Swale so a car driver is essential.
Young Adult Carers have a lot going on in their lives. As well as caring, they are managing all the normal stresses of growing up… exams, friendships, relationships, work, money. If they choose to stay at home and continue to care, there may be additional challenges like applying for benefits or arranging respite.
As a coordinator, you’ll provide information and advice, and emotional and practical support to guide the Young Adult Carers through these times. You might help them prepare for job interviews, advocate on their behalf to get additional support at college or university, or to have difficult conversations with family members.
You’ll also provide opportunities for Young Adult Carers to meet each other at workshops and events, where they can share ideas and support each other as peers.
Applicants should have relevant work, volunteering or personal experience.
