The Role
We are seeking a Property Risk and Compliance Manager to join our Building Safety Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual to join an industry leading team in ensuring our tenants properties are safe places they are proud to call home.
This is a key role in the management of property safety and risk compliance relating to the delivery of gas related repairs and installations across our stock. You’ll adopt a tenant-centric approach, instilling trust, confidence and understanding in relation to the on-going safety of their homes.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the effective delivery of a range of contracted Landlord compliance services such as: Gas, Asbestos, Legionella, TMV’s, Lift servicing, LOLER inspections, External Fire Escapes and Domestic and Commercial Appliances.
- Oversee the delivery of compliance related repairs and installation services.
- Utilise your understanding of finances and your analytical skills to develop and review relevant budgets, ensuring expenditure is robustly managed in line with our financial controls.
- Manage the performance and development of a small team providing expertise, coaching and other development support as required.
Experience
- Previous experience or knowledge of property compliance, related repairs and working in the Social Housing sector.
- Experience of managing people and proven track record of delivering against key performance targets.
- Experience managing sets of data, making sense of them and taking the appropriate action.
- Experience of complaints management and resolution.
- The successful candidate will also hold a Level 4 Housing Management Qualification or must be willing to work towards one.

An exciting opportunity to become part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) at Schoolreaders, a dynamic and fast-growing charity based in Bedford. Schoolreaders is a national charity tackling poor literacy through a network of volunteers who provide one-to-one reading support to children in primary schools across the country. We are the largest national in-school child literacy charity, supporting over 28,000 children in over 1,400 schools every week. We have ambitious plans to grow and support many more children in future, so it’s an exciting time to join us.
We are looking for a committed individual to join Schoolreaders to be part of the SMT and wider charity, delivering this vital support to children. As Head of Business Support, you will be coming on board to develop and manage the structure and team that deliver the support functions for the charity, helping keep everything running smoothly. Your team will consist of employees, contractors and third parties where necessary, and you will co-ordinate them to deliver a seamless set of services. At this time the role will line manage two officer roles within the charity, manager several third parties (including HR and IT) and work alongside the Head of Finance.
The Head of Business Support will oversee compliance, governance, HR, IT, facilities, and administrative functions. We don’t expect you to be an expert across all these areas – you might have a strong background in one or two but have the ability to manage these functions and others in the team and have a meticulous eye for detail. You will be expected to have a good understanding of compliance, IT, health & safety and HR to enable you to lead the day-to-day delivery across these disciplines.
Reporting into the charity’s CEO, you will be part of the Senior Management Team (SMT). As part of this you will directly input into the charity’s strategy and annual planning process. The Head of Business Support will also manage the delivery of change within the organisation, tracking projects and raising risks and issues to the SMT.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Day to day oversight of the delivery and development of corporate services functions, to include:
a. Compliance, ensuring that Schoolreaders is compliant with all relevant legislation, data management and safety standards. (H&S, GDPR etc)
b. Risk, ensuring effective systems and processes are in place for managing risk, owning key policies and their review, engaging with staff with information and training, liaising with the Board and with the Director responsible for Safeguarding and being the main point of contact for whistle blowing.
c. Business Support, monitoring and driving forward internal projects, overseeing the review and management of policies, and managing administrative and other support functions.
d. IT, supporting and maintaining systems, hardware and software, ensuring they are secure and up to date, continuing to develop new functionality in partnership with our external IT providers
e. HR (managing both internal and external resources) to support recruitment, starters and leavers, staff welfare, processing payroll, leave and sickness and the training and development of people.
f. Facilities, managing office spaces, supporting home workers and overseeing health and safety.
g. Producing and leading on the annual Culture Review, collating scoring and feeding back to trustees.
h. Finance, assisting the Head of Finance, approving spend where necessary.

Job Description
We seek a Finance Director who will work closely with the COO and CEO to develop the Institute's financial strategy; lead the finance team through change and develop and deliver its policies and procedures. The Successful Applicant
- Qualified accountant, with a recognised accounting qualification (ideally ACA, CIMA or equivalent).

- Outstanding communication, reporting and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The RNLI is looking for a full-time Regional Support Lead covering the Wales, West and Isle of Man Region. This is a busy and diverse region delivering Lifeboat, Lifeguard and fundraising activity.
Your role
As our Regional Support Lead, you will be reporting direct to the Head of Region. You will be part of the regional leadership team comprised of senior representatives from Lifesaving, Engagement, Engineering and Water Safety. The team is tasked with leading the RNLI’s lifesaving activities in the region, delivering to local priorities as one crew.
This very busy and highly diverse role is vital in bringing together Lifesaving, Engagement, Engineering and Water Safety teams whilst leading on Support services, bringing the region together to plan, monitor performance and resolve issues whilst delivering the full breadth of regional activity and services. There are three core elements:
- Business Management is critical to compliance and our overall lifesaving success. The post-holder is responsible for leadership, management of, and reporting on our business plan, finances, people, compliance, and regional performance. You will also plan and coordinate a range of technical and complex change programmes with regional and central teams, also acting as a key link for standardisation and collaboration with the other five regions.
- Providing the regional collaboration function, acting as a stepping stone between the region and the central function. Deputising for and supporting the Head of Region in the full breadth of activity we undertake, bringing people together behind a single plan. Leading on issues resolution and taking a risk-based approach through matrix management of a large pool of specialist roles and teams.
- Leading Support Services for the region, ensuring we remain compliant, our people are safe, and local teams get the tools and support they need to have Lifesaving impact essential to saving lives. You will directly line manage the Regional Support Team and work every day as the Regional Leadership primary point of contact with critical support teams such as HR, Volunteering, SHE, L&OD, Media & Comms, Systems & IT, Supply Chain & Logistics, and Procurement.
About you
It is essential that you have the ability to work across departmental structures and working at all levels utilising matrix management skills, driving collaboration with the ability to get others to understand our needs, issues and vision. You will have the ability to look ahead at the region’s strategic direction whilst being able to get into the detail when required to ensure the job is done. You will have exceptional communication and engagement skills; a solid grasp of business functions is essential and a large part of the role’s focus, in particular in compliance, risk management and planning. Being a starter-finisher is a must, as is delivering through others.
Ideally, you will have experience in directly leading and/or supporting technical operations in complex environments. A background in HR, Finance, Project Management, Business Planning would be of benefit but can be taught.
Candidates should live within the Wales, West and Isle of Man Region. This is a hybrid mix of home and regional working (including frontline locations) with an expectation to be in the Regional Base (LL17 0LJ) a minimum of 2 days per week.

Moss Side Millennium Powerhouse is a busy community and youth centre based charity located in Moss Side, Manchester. We are an independent charity, which operates a diverse range of cultural and commercial activities. A lot of the work we do is with young people aged 8 -19 or up to 25 for those with additional needs offering provision during the day in school holidays and universal provision in the evenings. The post holder will need to be comfortable working in this environment.
Open 7 days a week with varying hours the venue is a bustling hive of activity and we are now recruiting for a Full-time Operations Manager to manage the day to day team and processes that are necessary to provide a safe friendly and welcoming environment. You’ll want every person to have a positive customer experience and be committed to delivering exceptional service.
In addition to the above this post requires you to have attention to detail, be a quick learner & able to undertake physical tasks to support the team. This crucial role will require a flexible approach to working within the varying needs and requirements of a multi-functional community venue. You will work closely with a range of staff and volunteers in a busy and responsive environment, and so you will need to be both a team player, and able to work independently, as required. An enhanced DBS is required for this role.
