Summary job description
We are currently recruiting a Project Manager - Advocacy to support the delivery of our new advocacy projects in West Africa. The projects of about $2 million over 3 years will be focused on supporting regional civil society organisations to advocate for the rights of small-scale fishers against industrial destructive fishing and promoting transparent and sustainable fisheries governance.
Reporting to the West Africa (WA) Regional Director with a dotted line to the Head of Programme Management, the Project Manager will be supported by the wider Blue Ventures team, which will provide technical and strategic support and guidance. At Supportability we are a charity providing opportunities and support for disabled adults and children to enable them to lead the life they want. ‘Celebrating Supportability at 70’ is a Heritage Fund funded, fixed term project that investigates, describes and explains the heritage of Supportability to the people we support and the wider community.
Do you have what we are looking for?
The role will include working with volunteers, people we support and their families and the wider community in order to examine, preserve and interpret significant documents that relate to the charity’s 70-year history. It will also include researching further into other local archives and recording memories and experiences of both past and present stake holders. This will then be pulled together into an exhibition detailing the full history of Supportability, which will take place at a local library. Learning and historical materials from the project will also inform a digital timeline (web design/development will be externally commissioned) hosted on our website.
To ensure the project is accessible to the people we support the role will also involve organising (alongside our service managers) inclusive heritage themed events.
We aim to give people in the local community and beyond a greater knowledge of the history of disability support in Stockport and the part Supportability has played in that journey. Ultimately the project will be evaluated to ensure the outcomes and terms of the Heritage Lottery grant are met.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Service Manager. This crucial role involves overseeing some of our health-related projects that work with health partners to get advice to people in the community who are most in need. These projects include the following; our Patient Welfare Advice Service – taking referrals from local GPs and social prescribers, our Community Mental Health Transformation Project – linking those experiencing poor mental health with welfare advice, plus others as required.

- Managing CAWs relationship with funders and commissioners; ensuring that reports and returns are completed to time and contracts are complied with - with a view to sustaining and potentially expanding funding for our projects and services.
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice and information as part of these projects and services within the aims, policies, procedures and principles of the Citizens Advice service.
- Leading staff and volunteers to effectively perform their duties and responsibilities and ensure that advice staff and volunteers are supported, supervised, recruited and trained to perform their roles.
- Working collaboratively with the Management team, contributing to regular meetings developing services across the organisation.

Father Hudson’s Care (FHC) is the social care agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham. We require an experienced senior manager to lead our Community Projects Department. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Management Team and be part of a regional charity with a very diverse range of services.
Suitable candidates will have extensive experience in developing and managing services/projects in a community setting and in management of senior staff. With a proven track record in securing funding, you will have a good understanding of a wide range of income streams and be able to manage complex budgets. This is essential with a department of over 77 staff / 200 volunteers and an overall budget of over £2 million with multiple funding streams.
Our community projects reach out to individuals who are marginalised and in need, including asylum seekers, refugees and migrants, older people and individuals experiencing homelessness. FHC Community Projects are delivered as local partnerships and we provide support to independent charities. The projects are diverse in provision and size, are delivered by staff and volunteer teams and provide a breadth of services in community settings including social support, advice, practical help, emergency and longer-term accommodation. FHC projects include Brushstrokes Community Project in Smethwick, Tabor Living in Birmingham, Young at Heart in North Staffordshire, Fatima House and Sophia House in Birmingham, Nicolas Barre House in Willenhall and Refugee Community Sponsorship schemes across the Diocese. Charities we provide support to include St Chad’s Sanctuary, Hope Community and Maryvale Community Project.
With experience of networking and partnership working, the successful candidate will have excellent negotiation and communication skills. As a team player, you will also be able to work on your own initiative and be responsive and flexible to the constantly changing environment of delivering charitable services in the community. You will have excellent IT skills, be able to multi-task to a high level and work to deadlines. With an understanding of the issues our diverse client groups face including policy and legislation.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic project manager, with basic carbon literacy and an understanding of the schools system in the UK. The role will be responsible for the day-to-day operational delivery and iteration of Count Your Carbon – a comprehensive, web-based carbon footprint calculator, built in collaboration with, and for, schools. Funding has been secured for a large update to the calculator, which will involve working with subject experts, extensive project planning, supplier management and stakeholder-relationship management. The role will also have line-management responsibility for administration staff.
The successful applicant will have experience of developing project outlines and proposals; creating and maintaining project management documentation (such as operational plans, schedules and risk logs); managing, using and reporting from large datasets; delivering evaluating projects and implementing changes based on findings; reporting to varied stakeholders; and supporting fundraising activity.

About the Team:
To fuel WaterAid's global mission and programs, the Philanthropy Team drives WaterAid Canada's efforts to increase impact through innovative, high-value partnerships with a diverse set of private, large family and corporate foundations, government, and HNWI and monthly, annual donors and leadership donors, and legacy giving.
As a member of the Philanthropy Team, the Manager, Annual Fund reports to the Associate Director of Philanthropy and works closely with the Head of Communications and Brand, Data and Donor Service Administrator, and collaboratively with the entire WaterAid team.
- Manage the development and operations of WaterAid Canada's individual giving portfolios, including annual, monthly, and leadership donors.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the annual and leadership giving stewardship.
- Plan and execute annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, digital acquisition, and third-party fundraisers.
- Development and implement strategies to enhance donor engagement, stewardship, and retention.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors through personalized communications and engagement initiatives, such as donor surveys.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the annual and leadership giving stewardship standards program to ensure that class leading donor relations standards are upheld.
- Utilize third party apps such as JustGiving, Gifts of Water, Echo age and create website content related to the annual giving campaigns.
- Oversee moves management; identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of a portfolio of leadership giving donors, consulting regularly with the Associate Director of Philanthropy on pipeline development.
- Contribute to the development of donor communications materials including customized accountability/impact reports, in collaboration with the Head of Communications and Brand.
- Work with print and mail-fulfillment vendors on project delivery.
- Work with the Data and Donor Service Administrator to identify cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship opportunities for monthly and annual fund donors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams within WaterAid Canada, such as with Communications and Brand, International Programs, Finance, Advocacy and Policy, Annual Campaign lead, and Database.
- Maintain strong relationships across the WaterAid International Federation; support WaterAid International to maximize global fundraising initiatives; represent and advocate for WaterAid Canada priorities within global fundraising working groups.
- Utilize data-driven insights to adjust strategies for optimal performance
- Minimum three years of experience working in a fundraising, donor relations, or stewardship capacity, particularly in an annual giving portfolio.
- Exceptional tact and diplomacy.
- An acumen for identifying philanthropic motivators and driving them to action.
- An entrepreneurial and collaborative work ethic.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (in English, French is an asset)
- A good understanding of fundraising databases, particularly Raiser's Edge / NXT.
- A strong commitment to WaterAid's mission, vision, and values with the ability to effectively communicate this mandate in a manner that compels prospective supporters to join the cause.
- Donor-focused lens throughout fundraising cycle.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to listen and engage with authenticity, as well as the ability to distill strategic or programmatic information to new audiences.
- Ability to craft compelling appeals through individual and mass communications.
- Knowledge of the international development sector a strong asset.
- Proven ability to exercise discretion and sound judgement to maintain confidentiality; commitment to upholding honest & ethical practices to ensure the safeguarding of people and organizational assets.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) as well as a CRM (Raisers Edge / NXT);
- Proficiency in using Mailchimp.
