About the Role
The Business Development Officer will work closely with the Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager to secure new relationships across the Fylde Coat, developing a pipeline of sustainable income. About You

What's important is that you'll have a track record of meeting financial targets and balancing a demanding workload with competing deadlines. No one enjoys medical procedures, least of all children. From facing everyday vaccinations to the most serious of surgeries and chronic conditions, all children experience varying degrees of apprehension and fear. Feeling scared, powerless, or anxious in healthcare settings doesn’t just trigger a child’s emotions; it can create traumas that impact treatment success and that can have a life-long impact. Role Overview
Starlight has a long and successful track record of delivering high-profile, high-value special events, including the prestigious Blenheim Ball, Newbury Race Day, and until recently, the Highclere Clay Pigeon Shoot. These events are supported by influential committees and have played a critical role in raising income, stewarding donors and connecting supporters with our purpose.
With a gap in our Philanthropy team and maternity cover needed until around May next year, this 9-month fixed-term role exists to lead, develop and deliver Starlight’s flagship events at a senior level. Immediate responsibilities are for the Starlight Health Play Awards a key stewardship event in October; and the development of a Royal Palace Event to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Starlight likely to be in November. There is also the opportunity to shape the Starlight Event Strategy, with the development of a new event building on the success of our Newbury Race Days and the development of our biennial activity with the Blenheim Ball Committee.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a self-starter who thrives on identifying and winning new business and helping to create meaningful partnerships in the community. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Corporate and Community Partnerships Fundraiser to join us on a three-month contract.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will lead prospect research and outreach across NHS Barking, Havering & Redbridge procurement suppliers, local community businesses and key corporate partnerships sectors for hospital fundraising. You will develop compelling partnership propositions and engagement materials, identify key stakeholders within target organisations, and progress prospects through to confirmed meetings.
What You’ll Do
Conduct thorough prospect research across NHS BHRUT procurement suppliers, local businesses and priority sectors to build a strong and accurate pipeline of prospective corporate and community partners in our new CRM, Beacon.
Create a corporate partnership fundraising deck for prospects that brings to life all the ways businesses can get involved, from social value opportunities, do your own fundraising and challenge events, sponsorship opportunities, to volunteering and in-kind support. This will need to be compelling and can be tailored for NHS procurement suppliers and aligned to the charity’s strategic goals.
Develop a corporate volunteering opportunities deck, ready to share with prospective and current partners.
Identify key stakeholders within target prospect organisations and make proactive outreach to arrange prospect meetings between corporate contacts and the Head of Fundraising, to support the charity’s income growth ambitions.

Comfortable working fully remotely and managing your own time effectively.

About the role
As Head of Fundraising, you'll lead a dedicated team and take ownership of income generation across the Coventry hospice. This role offers a fantastic balance of strategic leadership and hands-on fundraising. One day you might be developing ambitious plans for future growth, the next meeting supporters, attending events, nurturing corporate partnerships or helping your team unlock new fundraising opportunities.
