We are looking for someone to work with a clear strategy and then develop, grow and successfully manage our Youth Advisory (YAG) and Alumni groups, as well as lead the engagement of families / support networks. The ideal candidate is someone who will ensure interns accessing the DFN Project SEARCH model are at the heart of decision making and who will champion their rights and their participation. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of advocacy and the rights and entitlements of young adults with special educational needs and disabilities.
We are in our third year of running our YAG and yet to launch our Alumni offer. This role will therefore involve leading the implementation, development, and growth of the membership of both DFN Project SEARCH YAG and Alumni group. This will include planning and facilitating a programme of activities throughout the year for YAG and Alumni members, which we hope will be a mix of in person and online events.
This post holder will also provide ongoing training to YAG, Alumni and parent/carer members and facilitate their participation in our advocacy work. There will also be opportunities to deliver training to our central and partner teams alongside members of these groups

Content development:

About the role
As Crisis’ Media and Artist Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in securing impactful media coverage that inspires the public and politicians to join our fight to end homelessness by raising awareness of our influencing campaigns and fundraising events. You will help to build Crisis’ profile by bringing to life our work, demonstrating how we end people’s homelessness for good through education, training and support with housing, employment, and health. You’ll also identify, build and nurture relationships with artists and influencers to secure their support for Crisis and our work, whether that be political campaigning, fundraising or our commercial and retail offering.
Your role will be creative and varied. You’ll work with our frontline staff to identify people facing homelessness who want to share their stories and empower them to do so. You’ll help create hard-hitting news stories and media hooks that engages our audiences and raises awareness of Crisis’ work. You’ll also work with our Artist Liaison Manager to utilise our high-profile supporters and ambassadors to inspire and raise awareness of our cause with key audiences and develop creative and engaging ways to amplify our media campaigns on social media. We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team.
