We are looking for a People Policy & Engagement Partner to join the National Theatre People Team.

The purpose of the role

The People Team provide advice, guidance and support to all National Theatre staff, line managers and senior leaders on people policies; terms and conditions of employment; recruitment and selection; performance management; staff engagement; diversity and inclusion; trade union and employee relations; discipline, grievance, and capability processes; and training and career development. We pride ourselves on providing a customer-focused, flexible, and agile service and aim to support and facilitate an open and inclusive culture where all staff can thrive.

The successful applicant for this role will lead on the development and review of employment policies, undertaking benchmarking and researching best practice to ensure the NT has a full range of accessible and inclusive policies. They will analyse and interpret business intelligence and workforce data to inform policy development and decision making whilst working with colleagues to develop guidance and training for managers and act as the department’s central advisory expertise. They will also lead on work related to the NT’s pay framework and policy and manage engagement surveys, developing routine reporting and analysis.

The successful candidate will have the following: 

• Experience across a range of People functions that demonstrates an ability to work autonomously across a range of functions, including generalist, policy development, reward and interpreting terms and conditions.
• Experience of analysing and presenting information both written and verbally in informal and formal settings.
• Experience of working with information, databases and ability to interrogate and analyse data.
• Experience of working in a flexible and pragmatic way to problem-solving. Able to seek and exploit opportunities to advance objectives.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively orally, digitally and in writing adapting the message for a diverse audience in an inclusive and accessible way.
• Experience of managing multiple stakeholders, with the ability to build strong collaborative working relationships.

Key responsibilities 

Organisational Leadership and line management

Fundraising

• Write and submit high quality, inspiring and tailored funding applications and reports for trusts and foundations (expected to be in the region of £10,000-150,000) 

• Identify and develop potential new funding opportunities for First Give, including major donors and corporate funders 

• Manage relationships with a set number of key funders, ensuring that we proactively seek feedback, engagement and involvement in our work 

New School Partner Recruitment 

• Oversee and co-ordinate all new school partner recruitment sales and marketing activity 

• Work with our marketing agency to develop and implement marketing campaigns 

• Support the Programmes Team to recruit new partner schools in priority regions 

• Proactively seek opportunities for growth of the First Give partners network 

• Develop and design and production of marketing and sales resources to support all sales activity

1. Background and Purpose

The Deputy Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director (ED) to enhance the work of the small, dynamic secretariat team to create more momentum across its network. This new role will be instrumental in delivering on the strategic objectives and securing sustainable funding through its continued evolution. The person will be responsible for connecting the various programmatic areas of work quality assurance and impact, capacity support and its new country level work. They will guide planning processes to be able to track and analyse our impact. They will leverage the knowledge of the team to seek new opportunities for ensuring the Alliance delivers on its mission. They will be instrumental in developing and implementing long-term plans and processes that can bring new levels of success for the organisation.

2. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Guide and facilitate the team’s delivery of the CHS Alliance strategy:

· Work with the ED on delivering the strategy to position CHS Alliance as a network driving system change for greater accountability to people in crisis, creating relationships within teams and externally to influence change across the global humanitarian sector.

· Develop processes to support the team track progress on how we are meeting our objectives so they can be clearly communicated and analysed to continue to deliver on the ambitions of the Alliance’s strategy.

· Facilitate a strong culture of organisational collaboration to achieve goals and objectives; developing a framework that support the team’s cohesion in delivering the goals of the organisation to create greater impact.

· Provide oversight of the funding needs and priorities and support strong proposal development and compliance with donor funding and guide decisions on how to allocate and manage resources.

· Work closely with the ED, to establish and execute a fundraising plan to achieve the strategy and workplan of the CHS Alliance, including donor intelligence.

· Provide support to ensure staff can complete their responsibilities to their highest potential.

· Initiate programmes and activities that are resourced and effective and efficient as possible.

External partnerships & donor engagement:

· Stay abreast of emerging trends in the volatile context of humanitarian action and provide strategic thought leadership on the dynamic and shifting priorities and what it means for the Alliance network.

· Work closely with the ED to create a strong donor advocacy and engagement plan that goes beyond fundraising to work with donors as drivers of accountability.

· In coordination with the rest of the Alliance team, engage with external stakeholders to build and maintain relationships contributing to the CHS Alliance strategic objectives.

· Work closely across the teams to keep abreast of the Alliance members’ needs to meet the CHS commitments.

· Actively seek opportunities for partnerships to advance the CHS Alliance Strategic Plan (e.g. with members, academia, coordination bodies like the IASC, or other key stakeholders).

· Promote the CHS and the work of the CHS Alliance through relevant social media channels or platforms, through conference presentations and through workshops or other events.

· Represent CHS Alliance and its positions at meetings, speaking engagements or through opinion pieces. Assist the CHS Alliance to influence policy in the sector.

Inter Mediate

Inter Mediate (IM) is a unique and discreet London-based peacemaking organisation established in 2011 to support behind-the-scenes peace negotiations in some of the world’s most challenging conflicts. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join the senior management team of a small high-impact organisation working at the leading edge of international peacemaking.

Reporting to the Deputy CEO and working closely with the CEO and the Financial Director, the Operations Director will lead Inter Mediate’s institutional, Human Resources and project-support systems to keep the organisation running smoothly and ensure we are equipped to deliver the best results.

A successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with senior management experience in operations, preferably for a non-profit organisation. You will be familiar with the fast and sometimes unpredictable pace of an international operating environment, and confident in handling challenges as they arise. You will be comfortable working collaboratively within a small team and engaging credibly with a wide range of people from senior government officials to project interlocutors in the field.

Key Responsibilities

A) Governance and Institutional Compliance (with the Deputy CEO and senior management)

• Lead the development and implementation of IM’s operational planning, in coordination with the CEO, Deputy CEO, Finance Director, staff, Trustees and supporters.
• Ensure that Inter Mediate complies with its charitable and legal obligations.
• Prepare, attend and minute Trustee and Committee meetings.
• Develop and implement quality improvement process for institutional policies and project delivery to keep Inter Mediate ethical, efficient and delivering value for money.
• Source, manage and review all professional services and suppliers engaged by Inter Mediate including banking, legal advice, accounting and auditing.

B) Human Resources and Office Operations

• Oversee Inter Mediate’s recruitment process and work with the Deputy CEO to ensure that we have fair procedures for benefits, training, probation, diversity and inclusion, gender pay gap, safeguarding, grievance and disciplinary matters.
• Oversee the contracting and on-boarding for new staff, consultants and trustees.
• Manage day-to-day HR functions and queries, including leave recording systems.
• Conduct staff remuneration and salary benchmarking exercises with the Deputy CEO.
• Update and maintain the employment handbook policies and procedures.
• Oversee office operations, equipment and facilities management.

C) IT, Security and Risk Management

• Ensure that the IT and communications systems are optimally configured for effectiveness and security, and that staff can operate them as necessary.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has robust risk mitigation systems and training for staff.
• Ensure Risk Assessments and security plans are completed by staff prior to staff travel.
• Ensure Inter Mediate has a viable business continuity plan.
• Maintain and review the Risk Register for the organisation with the Deputy CEO.

D) Financial Management (with the Finance Director)

• Work closely with the Finance Director to ensure that operational and financial planning processes and decisions are mutually informed and fully aligned.
• Strategise with the Finance Director and Deputy CEO to ensure all wings of the organisation work together to advance the best interest of the institution, its staff, projects and donors.

Experience, qualifications and skills:

• At least 8 years experience leading charity operations at a senior level spanning institutional compliance, Human Resources, IT, security and project support services, ideally in the non-profit sector.
• Track record of excellent business decisions for institutions under UK charity law operating in an international, multi-donor environment.
• Extensive experience of supporting Boards and Board committees at a senior level in a non-profit context.
• Some knowledge of project support mechanisms required for smooth delivery of peacebuilding, humanitarian, human rights or political projects in high-risk environments.

• Evidence of ability to both lead and service a complex network of external relationships.

• Graduate with a relevant degree and, preferably with relevant post graduate qualifications or relevant experience.

Working at Inter Mediate

A normal working week consists of 35 hours (or pro rata for part-time). Our office operates between 8am and 6.30pm with core hours from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Inter Mediate operates a hybrid working model, with at least 2 set days per week in the office in London.

About You:
As our Senior Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our fundraising strategy. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team to raise unrestricted income by engaging schools and workplaces to participate in Christmas Jumper Day and raise much-needed funds for children for 6 months of the year. For the other 6 months of the year, you will lead marketing and fundraising projects across Public Income and Engagement to drive us towards Save the Children's goal of raising £60 million by 2030.

You will also lead on the development of multi-channel marketing plans, with a focus on audience, to drive ambitious brand awareness, supporter action, income and loyalty targets including email, display, paid social, direct mail, TV, radio and out of home, across a range of engagement opportunities and propositions (legacies, regular giving, emergencies and mass participation)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team to attract and engage supporters to drive participation and income generation for Christmas Jumper Day.
• Lead the development of multi-channel marketing plans, with a focus on audience and insight.
• Lead the team's relationship with the media buying agency to buy and optimize media.
• Cultivate collaborative relationships with key partners such as marketing agencies, production companies, and fulfilment agencies, motivating and inspiring them to deliver their best for Save the Children.
• Inspire internal partners and colleagues to focus on raising money around the Christmas Jumper Day campaign.
• Manage team budgets and reporting.
• Support the Deputy Director of Public Income and Engagement to lead fundraising and marketing projects outside the Christmas Jumper Day campaign period.

Key Requirements:

• Significant experience in marketing, including developing complex and integrated multi-channel marketing plans, data analysis, and audience planning.
• Outstanding project management skills with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget.
• Extensive experience in effectively managing external partners, including working with media agencies, creative agencies, and fulfilment agencies.
• Experience in developing marketing assets to drive engagement and action.
• Experience in developing engaging supporter journeys across channels.

You will support the implementation of a digital programme plan to carry out the development and refresh of several digital products and platforms in line with user needs and business objectives. You will help co-ordinate tasks and resources and track project progress, contribute to user acceptance testing and content audits and updates. An experienced digital professional, you may have worked for a charity or digital agency before in a similar role. Who we are

The problem - On average, 160 young people are excluded from school each week. Once excluded, prospects for these young people are bleak, with only 4% achieving good GCSE grades, and 67% entering sustained education, employment or training compared to 96% of their non-excluded peers. This can be a pipeline to prison, with concerning statistics showing 63% of prisoners having been excluded from school.

Our mission - To ensure that young people who have been excluded from school are not excluded from society.

Who we serve - We support the hardest to reach young people in the most disadvantaged communities, each of whom are most at risk of experiencing school exclusion or are at risk of being excluded. Young people who are eligible for free school meals are 4x more likely to get excluded, along with black Caribbean boys. Young people with special educational needs are also six times as likely to be excluded as their peers.

Our work - We work in a number of different settings both during term time and after school. Our coaches lead small groups of 8-10 young people, using sport as a hook and mentorship as an anchor to develop their soft skills, as well as improve their physical & mental wellbeing. This, coupled with exposure to the work place through Career Taster Days, raises their aspirations and puts young people in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.

We are looking for someone to carry out maternity cover for our Programme Manager (Midlands & North). The Programme Manager role purpose is to lead on all aspects of service delivery within the Midlands & North area, which currently covers the following hubs: Birmingham, Solihull, Leicester, Northumberland, Tyne & Wear, County Durham, Liverpool, Warrington & Oldham. As a manager you will play a key part in the leadership of the organisation and driving the implementation of strategic plans on the ground.

It is important to us that this role remains embedded within the delivery of our interventions, therefore the post holder will be required to spend up to 25% delivering our programmes or working alongside staff for quality assurance.
