Senior Social Media Officer

Sue Ryder is looking for a Senior Social Media Officer to join the Digital Team, to manage our portfolio of social media accounts and develop the charity’s channels to showcase the importance of our end-of-life care and bereavement support.

The Role
Reporting to the Social Media Manager, the role works closely with colleagues across the charity including fundraising, health & social care, and retail. Our social channels play a key role in providing support to people who are struggling with grief, as well as being an important engagement tool with our supporters. The role will be responsible for the content creation and planning across our accounts, including content around grief and bereavement, as well as taking ownership of key paid social campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

· Content planning for our local channels and leading on social media activities for fundraising events, PR campaigns and other projects.

· Creating content with a story-led approach including copywriting and developing visual assets for our national and retail accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, LinkedIn and TikTok.

· Manage the response matrix for our social media moderation and escalation processes in line with organisational safeguarding procedures.

· Moderation cover for the Online Community and deputise for the Social Media Manager in meetings/project groups. Supervise the Social Media Assistant through proofreading, monitoring and delegating tasks.

· Gather data and insights to develop reports with actionable recommendations.

· Plan and implement paid social campaigns for fundraising events throughout the year.

· Provide training and support for colleagues in social media best practices.

About You:

· Experience in planning and coordinating social media content for different platforms

· Highly proficient digital copywriter with excellent attention to detail

· Intermediate level of Photoshop or Canva skills

· Experience creating and editing high-quality videos for social media and mobile

· Experience of using GA4, Looker Studio and Excel to build reports

· Ability to create, manage and optimise paid-for social media campaigns

· Excellent organisational skills and ability to efficiently work across a multi-disciplinary team to prioritise projects and content

Ways of Working:
The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK. However, for this role, you will be required to work from our Farringdon Office in London on average 1 day a week. Travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense.

Children’s online safety is both an important and an urgent issue and the need for our unique work here at Breck Foundation is greater now than ever. The primary purpose of this role is to help children and young people take practical steps to become more digitally resilient and be safer online. Our freelance School Engagement Officers introduce the highly impactful Breck’s story into schools and other youth and community spaces across the country and deliver inspiring, educational talks to students, parents and guardians, teachers, and other groups in a ‘whole community’ approach.

Breck Foundation is at the forefront of efforts to safeguard children and young people online. Our organisation was founded in 2014 in response to the tragic loss of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. Our work aims to prevent this from ever happening again. Our work saves lives. We reach thousands of children and young people in schools and other community settings with Breck's story every year. Our talks and educational materials fill a gap in the current UK curriculum that otherwise leaves children vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation. With 98% of young people now active internet users, current and future generations grow up having to navigate new and evolving digital dangers. We are committed to making the internet a place where children can live, play, and thrive in safety. We are helping young people reclaim the internet. 

Training: All necessary training will be provided, and time spent in training will be compensated.

More specifically, the post holders will:

• Research speaking opportunities and engage/build sustainable relationships with schools and other youth spaces with the aim of securing speaking engagements (known as bookings).

• Work with the Breck Foundation team to set up all new speaking engagements and ensure set communication processes are met and all calendar entries completed.

• Maintain relationships with named contacts within schools and other youth spaces with a view to achieving repeat bookings.

• Where practical, to attend and deliver bookings at different locations using the Foundation’s standardised PowerPoint presentations, with a commitment to educate/raise awareness among young people, staff, parents & carers about the dangers young people face from online grooming through gaming and social media and other online harms. School Engagement Officer (Freelance) Role Description

• Where impractical to deliver bookings secured, to work with the Foundation team to ensure that the booking is assigned appropriately and delivered to a high standard.

• Represent the Foundation in a professional manner and to protect and advance the Foundation’s profile in all engagements, including to work collaboratively with other colleagues to identify new ways to raise awareness of the foundation’s mission and to help expand their scope, reach and geographical coverage and income generation capabilities.

• If delivering bookings, carryout pre- and post-delivery engagements, including sharing pre and post presentation packs with schools and actively seeking feedback, testimonials and even Vox Pops where possible; and to log these on Salesforce.

Purpose of the role

Content generation  

• Draft compelling content for the different audiences of our fair finance work and for a broad suite of communications, including for our website, social media, materials and externally placed opinion pieces. Both this and the Leadership responsibility are core focus areas for this position.

Leadership  

• Develop the Communications Strategy for our Fair Finance work, creating informed and compelling messages and strategic KPIs which help deliver on programme and organisational goals and resonate with audiences.

• Provide strategic oversight to the design, delivery and evaluation of core global finance moments (such as research, events and campaigns).

• Navigate any communications issues relating to this work.

Driving efficiency and continuous improvement

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is seeking a Head of Communications to lead our high-performing communications team. The successful candidate will lead strategic, high-impact external communications across the organisation. They will work closely with our global team across 30 countries involved in research and analysis. They will bring talent, enthusiasm, knowledge and experience. This role currently manages a team of five and reports to the Executive Director. The communications team is tasked to ensure strategic and effective media, social media, and delivery of our digital platform to drive change.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic communications: Lead the strategic evolution of our global communications as a critical component of our strategies to make change happen. Work across our global team to develop a shared understanding of grand strategy, key audiences, the fast-changing context, and how communications can drive positive change. With the management team, set the organisation’s communications strategy and ensure we have the right skills, knowledge, and connections to deliver it. • Lead the communications team: Support a strong team, nurturing their skills to inspire effective and high-impact communications, with an emphasis on digital first. Ensure the work of the team is expertly planned and executed within budget and meets donor requirements. Deliver our performance management system throughout the year to ensure support, well-being, and accountability. Work with the Senior Management Team to manage strategic and operational opportunities and risks.
• Drive and execute innovative, advocacy-oriented communications: Work with senior management, regional and thematic teams to drive a dynamic approach to communications, alongside spotting proactive and reactive opportunities, building higher-level relationships with journalists and partners, and developing tactical approaches. Play an active role in executing impactful, advocacy-oriented communications strategies for key products and events.
• Digital action platform and technology: Work with the Web Content and Digital Officer to manage the development of the Resource Centre’s leading multi-functional digital platform, and our substantial data as compelling evidence. Develop an understanding of the organisation’s target audiences and ensure we deliver features that effectively support them to effectively organise and present their research data and promote human rights in business.
• Programme design and fundraising: Work with our development (fundraising) team and programme leads to ensure communications, and digital technology work is built into project design and budget, and that funders’ information needs are well-served.

Key competencies and attributes

Strategic communication: At least 5 years’ experience delivering top class communications and expert understanding of how strategic communications deliver change. Demonstrable experience in strategy design and execution. Sharp news sense and editorial judgement; strong grasp of the power of social media to make change happen; and a global perspective to communications.

People manager: At least 3 years’ experience in line management. Experience in nurturing and sustaining a high performing team that thrives in a diverse, and global context. Demonstrable success in supporting project teams to deploy communications strategically for impact.

Project manager: Track record of leading and/or implementing complex communications projects including planning, execution, and evaluation. Demonstratable success planning communications for a busy organisation working closely with allies.

Digital technology & data: Experience of design and delivery of website, digital tools, and data to make change happen. Experience of working with developers to manage and maintain a website.

Human rights, and economic justice expertise: Familiarity with social justice or human rights issues and a willingness to keep up to date. Experience communicating economic justice and human rights issues desirable.

Team player: Experience of, and commitment to, working in high-performing teams that are highly collaborative and focused on outcomes. Experience of working with colleagues remotely, and in multicultural and diverse working environments desirable.

What we want from you

The Furniture Makers’ Company is the City of London livery company and charity for the furnishing industry.

Our role is to sustain a thriving British furnishing industry with a talented workforce delivering high quality products, which supports those in need from within its ranks and those who have served it in the past. We achieve this through three pillars of activity – education, excellence and welfare.

We are seeking an organised and driven individual for a maternity cover to lead on our education and training programme, which is facilitating the growth of a talented workforce by inspiring, connecting and retaining the next generation. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a real impact, addressing the skills gap in the industry, working alongside young people.

This is a varied role with a significant focus on events and project management, including special events, as well as engagement activities to raise awareness of career opportunities in the industry. This includes driving forward our new 'My Furniture Career' website aimed at 15 – 24-year-olds and attending careers fairs. This role will also involve working with specialist education providers to support the provision of industry specific education and training.

A successful applicant will have demonstratable experience of organising and delivering large scale events, timely and cost-effective project management and financial reporting. You will be able to work independently and with a high level of attention to detail and used to prioritising a complex workload. Experience of working in the sector or in a previous educational role is not required.

Job Purpose

• To be the focal point for implementing all Education and Training activity within the Company, and to report back to the Education and Training Committee to maximise its reach and effectiveness.
• To implement several large-scale national events engaging young people, industry and specialist education providers.
• Oversee and steer the activity around a new website to engage young people with possible careers in the industry, ensuring growing engagement with young people and job posters.
• To administer and deliver several small grant programmes which support furniture and furniture students or those working with said students.
• To support and report quarterly to the Education and Training Committee.

Key Responsibilities

Events

• Young Furniture Makers Exhibition - To plan, organise and deliver the annual one-day exhibition showcasing the best new talent to industry. Securing event sponsorship and working with sponsors during the organisation process to ensure positive relationships. Working with over 70 exhibitors, multiple sponsors and external suppliers to ensure a successful event.
• Young Professional Industry Engagement event programme - To plan, organise and deliver the annual three-week programme of CPD visits for a selected group of participants to industry hosts across the UK. Working with participants and over 20 organisations to schedule and deliver the programme.
• Furniture Making T-Level conference – Working with the Chair of the Education and Training Committee and selected members to plan, organise and implement a one-day conference on the practicalities of overing the Furniture T-Level in an educational setting.
• Organise and attend several regional career fairs and trade shows to promote the education and training initiatives and encourage young people to consider a career in furniture and furnishings.
• Plan and organise the content of an Education and Training slot at the annual Furniture Makers’ HR Conference to highlight key events and programmes.
• Ensure that equality, diversity and inclusion is considered in all aspects of Education and Training events.

Grants

• Administer a small annual grants scheme supporting colleges and universities which provide specialist furniture and furnishing education courses.
• Manage a travel bursary scheme to support exhibitors attending the Young Furniture Makers Exhibition.

Website

• Administer the jobs board featured on the My Furniture Career website, screening and approving posted vacancies as well as liaising with those posting jobs to confirm the status of the vacancy, sharing data once the vacancy expires and collecting feedback data from the poster.
• To work with the Digital Officer to agree a schedule of content for the website and its associated social media.
• Work with the Communications Manager and Digital Officer to promote the use of the website by the targeted audience group as well as the HR community to post vacancies to the jobs board.
• Produce a quarterly report detailing the usage and any highlights regarding the website.
• Report any technical issues to the website provider and liaise with them to fix the issue.

Reporting

• Quarterly reporting on activity and budget to the Education and Training Committee.
• Supporting the Committee Chair by setting up Committee meetings and taking minutes.
• Supporting the Committee Chair with any other administration as necessary related to the Committee. 
• Assist with any ad hoc administration as necessary related to the FIESTA Committee.

Miscellaneous

• Assisting the Education and Training Committee Chair with any administration in regard to the Masters Certificate Scheme.
• Send quarterly feedback surveys mentoring participants and collect the data for reporting purposes.
• Work with the Communications and Marketing Manager to promote Education and Training events.
• Keep the Education and Training budget up to date and process all invoices in a timely manner.
• Report back to all event sponsors after any Education and Training sponsored event to keep sponsors updated and aware of the events successes.

Personal Attributes and Skills

• Success in delivering projects and large events against demanding targets and deadlines.
• Excellent administrative track record, with experience with an educational and/or charitable organisation.
• Highly motivated, dynamic, self-starter able to work largely on own initiative.
• Ability to plan, manage own time, work to deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communications, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills.
• The credibility to deal with people at all levels.
• IT and finance literate.
• Empathy with The Furniture Makers’ Company charitable cause and programme.
• Enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential: occasionally the post holder will need to perform tasks outside of the formal Job Description.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea is the home of the Chelsea Pensioners. It has a rich history and provides supported accommodation, residential and nursing care for some 300 retired soldiers. An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Hospital Chelsea where we are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Chelsea Pensioners Veterans’ Outreach  (CPVO ) team in a new role as a Veterans’ Outreach Officer. 

 The CPVO programme is aimed at extending an offer to older service veterans, inviting them to engage with our In Pensioners and enjoy the sense of community and comradeship that is at the heart of the Chelsea Pensioner community. While most of our programme activity is centred on the Royal Hospital Chelsea estate in London, the programme seeks to expand in reach to other UK regions where there is a sizeable veteran population who might benefit from engagement with our team of Chelsea Pensioners, staff and volunteers. There are also plans to develop a digital offer.

 The Veterans’ Outreach Officer will support  the Head of Veterans’ Outreach in developing and managing the programme of activities encouraging engagement and social interaction between Chelsea Pensioners and other service veterans thereby helping to alleviate the social isolation and loneliness felt by many older veterans. Responsibilities will include promoting the programme within veterans' networks and finding innovative ways to connect with veterans; the management of themed events both at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and further afield as we seek to expand nationwide. The role also involves significant data collection and analysis to inform the strategy, evaluate delivery, and identify fundraising opportunities.

The Role   

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Marketing the Data & Systems Project Coordinator will be responsible for driving change, implementing new data processes and providing new insights at Enable.   

We are seeking an experienced data and systems professional with a passion for numbers and using data and analytics, to take the lead on various projects over the next 12 months.

The Sales and Marketing Team  

This is an exciting opportunity to join Enable’s growing Sales and Marketing team who report into the Head of Growth and Branding. No two days are same. You will gain valuable hands-on experience with room for growth and the chance to see tangible output in the not-for-profit sector. The sales and marketing team is a small and supportive team, with a high output and flexible and collaborative approach to work.   

Integral to the Sales and Marketing Team this role will also work across our varied service areas, in order to streamline processes, implement systems and analyse trends in order to create maximum impact.  

Key responsibilities will include:  

• Systems assessment – Assessing the existing booking and CRM systems across the company
• Research – Investigate alternative system solutions to improve quality of data and collection, and provide best value solution for approval
• Implementation – Support the implementation of new CRM systems across the business and across relevant departments
• Tooling - Ensuring we have the setup in place to track the right metrics, suggesting new ideas and driving change where needed 
• Data management – Providing support across all services to ensure that user data is being effectively gathered as well as cleansing existing data
• Data analytical research and evaluation – Supporting the marketing team to reach their campaign objectives, by managing the data analysis process
• Forecasting and Reporting – Producing trend and campaign reports to inform strategic decisions, identify return on investment and identify trends and patterns 

Skills and experience  

• Experience with managing, interrogating, and implementing new data and CRM systems
• Proven experience reporting data and analysing trends to generate meaningful change within a company
• Worked on sales campaigns and be able to identify trends and insights mentioning sales trends – as well as campaign.
• A pro-active and ‘get-it-done’ approach to the implementation of new processes
• Excellent problem solving, and verbal/written communication skills
• Skilled user of digital systems, including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word and in particular Excel)
• Confident working with a variety of stakeholders, streamlining individual processes across a variety of platforms
