About the role 

Working with key stakeholders in the charity and our staff who work with our community, you’ll lead the evolution and delivery of our EDI roadmap for change. You’ll connect, lead, manage and coordinate activities across the charity with strategic oversight, and drive change both internally and externally.

You’ll work closely with our leadership team and the People & Culture Directorate to ensure the delivery of our EDI strategy, ensuring EDI is woven through our wider strategic ambitions and connecting EDI initiatives. You’ll have a creative insight and understanding of people affected by Parkinson’s, and be responsible for identifying and putting in place the measures and deliverables that will enable us to achieve our ambitions. 

We are open to reduced hours for this role, we will consider all applicants who would like to work between either 21 or 28 hours per week.

• Chair the EDI forum and affinity groups and ensure it connects views from across our workforce  that links to our priorities and influences  our programme of work. 

• Provide regular updates to our Executive Leadership team ensuring their sponsorship of EDI activity

• Work across the People & Culture team to make sure that EDI is embedded in our ‘people journey’. You’ll connect our EDI priorities to how we attract, develop and motivate our people 

• Connect with core subject matter experts, such as communications, data and insight and delivery teams to ensure initiatives become part of our core work.

Education for Health are a leading healthcare charity providing clinically rigorous training and education to healthcare professionals across both NHS and non NHS settings. We are recruiting a Marketing Manager to help develop our market positioning to maintain existing relationships and unlock new ones.

Exeter-based cancer charity, Force, is well known and much loved for its incredible work supporting people who have had a cancer diagnosis and their families with a range of support.  Their longstanding CEO is now retiring and the search has begun to find that special person to leader the charity into the future.  We are delighted and honoured to be supporting the Board with this important appointment.

We are seeking a Psychometrician for two days per week to lead psychometric analyses and interpret the examination results of the Royal College of Pathologists.

The College is responsible for the delivery of pathology examinations for doctors, scientists, oral pathologists (dentists) and veterinary pathologists in 17 specialties – the Fellowship examinations of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath). The FRCPath Part 1 is held online and is a test of knowledge while FRCPath Part 2 is held in person around the UK as well as in the Republic of Ireland and, for histopathology, in international centres such as Dubai and Egypt. The College is regulated by the General Medical Council for the medical examinations and the General Dental Council for the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology examinations, but the examinations are open to all appropriately qualified candidates.

The FRCPath examinations are held twice a year in Spring and Autumn and attracts approximately 1,200 candidates per session across the specialties. While some examinations attract up to 200 candidates, some examinations consistently attract very small numbers of candidates, with a number of examination cohorts sitting somewhere in between. The Psychometrician will advise on the appropriate data collection methods for the examinations and undertake psychometric analyses of appropriate examination data for each examination session and will, in time, be asked to provide analysis of longitudinal data.

As the College continues to develop its examinations, the Psychometrician will possess sufficient expertise to provide advice on the appropriate psychometric tests to undertake for the specialty examinations as different formats or methods of delivery are considered.

The examinations are delivered by an examinations team in the College which sits within the Learning Directorate. Each specialty examination is supported by an appropriately qualified panel, led by a Panel Chair, all of whom are overseen by the Clinical Director of Examinations (a pathologist). The Psychometrician will be expected to communicate with a wide range of individuals regarding the College examinations, with varying levels of knowledge about psychometrics, and will provide training for examiners and staff on a regular basis.

The College is a professional membership organisation dedicated to the advancement of the science and practice of pathology. There are currently approximately 12,000 members, all of whom are pathologists based in hospitals, universities and laboratories in the UK and overseas. The College’s main tasks are to set and maintain training standards for doctors and scientists, to advice on the appointment of consultant pathologists, to ensure the membership is kept up to date with current practice through the continuing professional development scheme, and to promote the latest developments in pathology by holding scientific meetings.

The College’s mission is to promote excellence in the practice of pathology and to be responsible for maintaining standards through training, assessments, examinations and professional development.

The role is 3 months, 3-5dpw and are offering up to £200 per day. This can be worked as a freelancer billing directly OUTSIDE IR35 or PAYE through the agency. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Research and identify a pipeline of qualified prospective corporate donors who are headquartered in the UK/Europe and have the capacity and propensity to give at the six-figure level.  

Engage and cultivate new high value corporate/corporate foundation donors.

Create compelling propositions which reflect the organisations operational needs and aligns with donor interests.

Work with the Director of Fundraising to plan cultivation events across 2024.

Specific activities:

Identify a long list of UK/Europe headquartered corporate/corporate foundation prospects, with the propensity and capacity to support at the £100K+ level. Categorising those who can fund an specific project (£300k) and those who may be smaller in scale.

Shortlist and screen prospects to create a ‘priority pipeline’ of Corporate prospects whose interests align with organisational mission, and have the capacity to fund a specific project (£300k).

Identify contact details for all priority prospects, always aligning with GDPR.  

Support the Director of Fundraising with targeted outreach and making direct approaches, with the aim to secure an exploratory meeting.

Securing new meetings with 20+ new prospects.

As required, writing compelling proposals relevant to donor interests.

High level proposal submitted on possible cultivation / networking events that they should attend in 2024.

We3can is a collaboration between three cancer charities - Brain Tumour Research, Leukaemia UK and Sarcoma UK. We3Can is an ambitious collaboration of the three charities to fund research into prevention, treatment and cures for the most common childhood cancers: brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma. Its purpose is "Funding research into better, kinder treatments to help cure kids' cancer."

The three cancers it focuses on (brain tumours, leukaemia and sarcoma) make up 78% of all childhood cancers. The collaboration allows the three distinct organizations to come together with a single-minded vision to be louder, more powerful, reach more people, and fund more vital research. 

The brand tone is ambitious, collaborative, rigorous, trustworthy, optimistic and resolute in pursuing a future without childhood cancer.

We3can is a joint initiative created by merging the efforts of three leading cancer in children's  charities to maximize impact in fighting the most common types of childhood cancer through research funding and awareness.

Job Purpose:

The Project Development Manager will be the main point of contact for the collaboration. They will be responsible for implementing and delivering the project plan, monitoring, evaluations, reporting, all systems and processes, coordinating meetings, etc and for generating income through (mainly) Corporate partnerships but may include some Trusts and High Value individuals. These partners will be with organisations/individuals who would otherwise be outside the reach of any of the three charities individually.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create systems and processes for administering and managing the functions of the partnership.
• Ensure regular project group meetings take place.
• Lead on the promotion of the brand and communications activities in conjunction with the communications experts on the project group.
• Monitor website and social media activity.
• Promote and implement activities to increase the profile of the collaboration.

Our community team is expanding, and we are looking for an energetic individual to us.

We are looking for a Community and Events Fundraiser who has these key skills to help us raise vital income for our charity.  You will develop and deliver fundraising initiatives through partnerships with local groups, schools, associations and individuals.  This role will also involve delivering a number of fundraising events so being organised and creative is key and having a marketing focus to ensure maximum success.  No two days are the same and we are looking for someone who can be flexible in their approach and able to multitask effectively. 

You will be based at our purpose built children’s hospice just outside Maidenhead, which provides support to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. We would love to hear from talented individuals who want to help us raise the money that we need to make these services available to all families who need them.

Through the partnership of Macmillan Cancer Support, Self Help UK and the Nottinghamshire Integrated Care System, the Macmillan Beyond Dagnosis service delivers support for people affected by cancer, as well as facilitated access to voluntary and community sector cancer specific support and wellbeing interventions across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Support and interventions will be identified using electronic health needs assessments (eHNA’s) and personalised care and support planning. This will provide a structured and clear ongoing support plan for those living with and beyond cancer which are integrated with primary, secondary and community clinical care pathways.

The aim of the service is to provide an improved experience for patients beyond their interactions with clinical services by contributing to the overall holistic approach to supporting people living with and beyond cancer. This will integrate the ‘beyond medicine’ approaches offered by the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) into existing and developing cancer pathways.

The Macmillan Beyond Diagnosis Service also includes the NUH Cancer Prehabilitation service, where we provide the Beyond Diagnosis model through the Social Prescriber Link Worker role.

Hours: This role is available as both a full time and part time role, but the candidate must be available for at least 3 days a week, with the expectation of flexibility in emergencies. The salary is up to GBP £41,000 gross annually, pro-rated based on a full-time equivalent, and dependent on experience.

The focus in the team is on building partnerships with businesses, through commercial activity, fundraising or strategic support. Current corporate partnerships include several ‘charity of the year’ relationships, conferences and events, sponsorship, cause-related marketing partnerships, a supplier directory and a jobs board. As well as driving positive change for people affected by terminal illness and bereavement in the workplace, Compassionate Employers is an important income generation stream and ‘door-opener’ for Hospice UK.

As an Assistant Community Shop Manager (ACSM) for St Giles Hospice you will support in leading a team of volunteers. You’ll be empowered to make decisions locally whilst working within a supportive framework. You’ll work within and for your local community ensuring that engagement and support is understood and promoted.

You’ll have good customer service skills and want to be part of a successful team. Ideally, you’ll have previous retail experience with the ability to manage and lead the store in the absence of the Community Shop Manager (CSM).

Reporting into the CSM and working closely with the Retail Regional Manager you will aid in supporting your store to run efficiently and deliver a positive financial contribution to the Hospice. You’ll also have the support of a Retail Regional Supervisor, available to provide store encouragement and development of best practice.

Knowledge and experience

Essential:

·Good standard of education in English and Maths

·Genuine interest in charity retailing/fashion

·Previous retail/charity retail experience

Desirable:

·Local community knowledge
