The purpose of this role is to provide professional advocacy to all eligible patients. To ensure that patients voices are heard and respected, rights upheld, and to facilitate positive engagement with ward staff, professionals involved in their care, treatment planning processes, and relevant meetings. This may be facilitated through attendance at patient’s forums, ward meetings, working with patients on a one to one basis providing information, representation and support to develop self-advocacy skills; and developing new forums and forms of support.
Duties will include providing professional advocacy to all patients, informing them of their rights and supporting them with any issues that are impacting them during their hospital admission. Ensuring that advocacy is available for all patients, that appropriate methods of communication are available in order to meet the needs of all patients, and to be able to adapt to changing ward based or external changes.
This role is providing specialist advocacy for 12 Forensic Wards at Chase Farm Hospital and in community locations.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Forensic Advocacy Role within a Psychiatric Inpatient Setting and have at least 3 years experience of working in an Advocacy Role.

We are looking to appoint a Family Support Coordinator to support our care teams in delivering a high-quality family support service in the region, working with families and professionals to ensure the families we support have access to the services they need.

Child Bereavement UK is looking to recruit a Bespoke Training Coordinator to join our busy Training Team. This is a full-time role, supporting the Head of Training in developing and growing our bespoke training offer. Duties include dealing with incoming enquiries, assessing needs and creating solutions as well as providing project management and admin support to the team for our core offering. This role will also be responsible for running monthly internal training sessions, which take on various forms depending on need. This is a developing role with future opportunities to be involved in delivering presentations and supporting training.

What We’re Looking For

Degree-level education or equivalent experience.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Events Officer responsible for devising, delivering, and growing a high-impact events programme that drives income and enhances brand awareness, overseeing event logistics, managing risk, digital fundraising initiatives, and working with internal and external stakeholders to maximise engagement and return on investment.
The Senior Events Officer will lead a dynamic and high-profile events programme, through a strategic and considered approach. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional supporter experiences, developing new income opportunities, and ensuring Shaftesbury’s brand is represented professionally across all events. This includes sports and challenge events, special events with high profile attendees (such as HRH engagements and major donor functions), and strategic event partnerships.
With a creative and strategic mindset, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in leading, managing, and delivering successful fundraising events, including sports and challenge events and ideally high-profile events, including working with major donors, VIPs, or royal engagements.
- Financial acumen and an analytical approach with experience in budget management, financial planning, and meeting income targets, and the ability to analyse event performance metrics and provide strategic recommendations for growth.
- Your ability to develop and execute events that align with organisational brand and engagement objectives, managing relationships with corporate sponsors, event partners and key stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple events simultaneously, understanding of risk assessments, health & safety policies, and all event compliance requirements.
- Strong digital literacy, including website content management, online ticketing platforms, and social media engagement, and proficient in using event management software, CRM systems (e.g. Raisers Edge, Salesforce), and digital fundraising tools.

About this role
At SPANA, we support a network of global partners working through both a short- term small grants and long- term programmes – known as our Senior Partners. As Programme Manager you will lead our critical relationships and day to day activities with SPANA Senior Partners in overseas country offices delivering our international programmes. You will be responsible for managing activities across SPANA’s international programme work including budget reporting, grant making and management as well as procurement. You are a key part of SPANA’s Global Programs Department (GPD) team and report to the Senior Programmes Manager.
