The role
Senior Health Education Officer: This is an exciting and varied senior role where you will support the coordination and delivery of a range of education programmes and projects for health and social care professionals. Working closely with other members of the Education team, you will organise events, training and meetings, build relationships with healthcare professionals and external stakeholders, and contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality learning that enhances MS care.

Role purpose

The Trust is recruiting a creative and committed Research and Policy Officer to join our team. Reporting to one of the team’s Research and Policy Managers, the successful candidate will play a significant role in developing and preparing the Trust’s research and policy outputs, working across the core areas of the Sutton Trust’s work (early years, schools, apprenticeships, higher education and access to the workplace). With its new 2027-2029 strategy about to launch, the Foundation has ambitious plans for the future, including deeper operational involvement in some of its flagship partnerships and supporting well-evidenced, high intensity interventions that ensure fair access to tech-enabled opportunities at a time of AI transition.

The person appointed will be employed by the Cathedral Chapter and the Line Manager for this post will be the Canon Chancellor.
The Education Officer will work with the Canon Chancellor and the expert volunteers who support this department to develop, grow and deliver the schools and formal learning offers at the cathedral. In addition, they will work with others to develop the interpretation and activities for families and children, helping them to discover the cathedral and its work.

JOB PURPOSE
- To lead and set the strategic direction for the team providing support and development of academic representation at Arts SU.
- Develop and lead ambitious plans to evaluate and develop the academic representation system at UAL, building engagement levels, impact, and visibility year on year.
KEY RESPONIBILITIES
Leading a high performing team:
- Provide leadership, strategic direction and day to day operational management of the Education Quality Team; motivating, supporting and developing team members to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge for their roles as well as manage performance.
- Develop succession plans and identify training and development requirements within the team.
- Develop a proactive results driven culture within the team, ensuring agreed objectives and targets are delivered, whilst promoting a collaborative approach to working with internal departments.
- Identify the need for, recruit and manage student staff as necessary.
- Be accountable for the quality of outputs of the team.
- Provide support to the student officer team helping and equipping them to be knowledgeable and informed representatives.
- Ensure the whole organization is aware of and understands the work of the Education Quality team.
Strategic Development
- Lead the Academic Representation’s System’s involvement with the University’s quality assurance processes.
- Oversee the development of systems and processes for capturing, tracking, and sharing student feedback, issues and the impact of academic representation.
- Lead the analysis of student feedback to advise and support student representatives to lobby and influence the University’s policies, procedures and practice.
- Lead the promotion of the service within UAL, building relationships with relevant stakeholders and making it easy for staff and students to understand the purpose of the team and its work.
Financial & Resource responsibility
- Manage a substantial Education Quality Team budget, being responsible for resources that are allocated to the department and ensuring these are effectively managed and controlled.
- Review and establish processes, systems and policies and where appropriate standard procedures for activities to maximise efficiency, ensure deadlines are met and to ensure a positive return on investment.
Oversight & development of Academic Representation
- Manage and support Education Quality Coordinators to deliver Arts SU’s academic representation systems bringing support for representatives and innovation around student engagement.
- Provide day-to-day management of our academic representation system, including managing relationships with UAL staff who work on this system in Colleges, Schools and Academic Quality.
- Work to further develop our partnership with the University to establish the Education Quality Team as expert practitioners and a source of good practice on student engagement, representation, and co-production.
- Work in partnership with staff and elected officers to deliver a holistic and high-quality academic representation system, including managing the election, training, year-round engagement and development of academic representatives and other related roles as relevant.
- Work closely with colleagues to support and deliver successful SU elections and awards events.
Policy & Officer support
- Lead the Education Quality Team’s work in providing comprehensive policy support to Arts SU’s Full-time Officers and School Representatives on education issues and developing effective lobbying strategies to influence the policies that impact students’ lives.
- Support engagement in College committees and working groups by maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of representatives and staff committee responsibilities, accompanying representatives where appropriate and coordinating a system for committee briefing and de-briefing.
- Work with colleagues to deliver high profile campaigns based on evidence and insights.
- Work with the wider team to develop relationships with academic societies, and to develop their ability to support student representation and engagement.
- Provide regular and structured reports or presentations to colleagues to support strategic decision making throughout Arts SU.

About the role
We are excited to be recruiting a Programme Manager to join The Scholars Programme team. This role will be central in ensuring high-quality programme management and oversee effective stakeholder stewardship across multiple geographical areas.
Programme Managers work closely with each other, reporting to the Head of Programme Management, to ensure excellent programme delivery across the UK. Each Programme Manager will manage a team of Programme Officers, who each manage a cluster of school-PhD tutor relationships. Programme Managers oversee all aspects of programme delivery by Programme Officers, ensuring key performance indicators are met. They will coach and support their team to deal with complex and sensitive issues from schools and PhD Tutors, becoming directly involved as a point of escalation. Programme Managers will be responsible for school retention targets and will identify opportunities to promote The Scholars Programme. They will directly deliver aspects of our provision including PhD tutor training, university events and tutor assessment centres. Programme Managers also lead collaborative work with other teams, providing strategic insight and oversight of joint processes to ensure information is disseminated and key actions are taken by the Programme Management team.
The role requires a driven and dynamic team player, with experience of success in programme management. They will be positive and pro-active in finding solutions, with a commitment to delivering excellent standards. They will champion the charity’s values and embody them in interactions with colleagues and partners.
This role can be based in our London or Leeds offices, or be fully remote, but it will involve some travel to deliver events at our different university partners. Some travel will also be required (mainly to London) for events and to attend in-person meetings.

Introduction
THINK EQUAL is a global education initiative with a mission to ensure that Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) becomes a mandatory subject for all children in early years settings globally. SEL is the process through which knowledge, attitudes, values and skills such as emotional intelligence, empathy, self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making are developed.

The THINK EQUAL Programme has a global presence across six continents and has undergone three RCT trials in contexts as varied as Colombia, Botswana and Australia. There is a growing demand from other countries for the THINK EQUAL Programme and the organisation is now strengthening its team to be able to respond to this demand.
Purpose of the Role
Working at the forefront of Think Equal’s mission to bring the ‘missing subject’ to the hearts and minds of children in the UK, the role of the UK Programmes Officer primary focus would be to ensure the successful delivery of the Think Equal programme across early years classrooms in the UK. Working within the dynamic Global Programmes team alongside dedicated UK-focused colleagues, this role is highly motivating, and requires great organisation and communication skills as well as an enthusiastic, solution-focused attitude. Programme support

Support and coordinate the delivery of the Think Equal programme across UK projects. This includes:

Plan and deliver information sessions, training sessions, launch events and other activities engaging Think Equal practitioners, both online and in person.

Enrol new practitioners into the Think Equal training platform as they sign up to the programme.

Provide general administrative and research support to the Programmes Coordinator and other staff, representing the organisation as the first point of contact and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner.

Process individual orders from schools and manage shipping requests on behalf of the staff team.

Support and communicate with TE classroom teachers and other key stakeholders - including nursery workers, primary teachers, primary heads and local authorities - to ensure fidelity and a high quality of implementation.
