Who we are
Universify exists to create a fairer, more equal society where every young person can fulfil their potential regardless of their background. We equip young people from low socio-economic and underrepresented backgrounds with the skills, knowledge, and belief to fulfil their potential through education.
We work primarily with Year 10-11 students (aged 14-16) to increase their aspirations, improve GCSE attainment and to gain a greater understanding of post-18 pathways, particularly university, to make a more informed decision about their future. To achieve our aims, we currently run two year-long programmes. Our main Oxford programme includes a week-long residential in summer of Year 10, a 3-day GCSE-focused revision residential in the spring of Year 11, and regular online coaching. Our Step Ahead Bristol programme consists of a calendar of day visits in Bristol and Oxford in Year 10 and 11 and regular online coaching.
The role
As the Programme Coordinator, you will work within the programme team to co-ordinate and deliver our national programme and communities programme for over 100 participants. You will also support the planning and oversight of our activities for partner-led programmes.
Main Duties
- Preparing and delivering our programmes
- Organise programme logistics- including managing room bookings, kit preparation, individuals’ requirements
- Co-ordinate recruitment and onboarding for students, tutors and volunteers
- Manage general enquiries and administration alongside the programme team
- Coordinating the coaching programme and managing enquiries
- Support the delivery of external partner programmes including outreach days, and alumni programme
- Provide safeguarding support as part of the charity's safeguarding team and providing on-course safeguarding support to students and volunteers
- Co-lead the student council alongside the Volunteer Officer to promote students’ views in the charity’s decision-making
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Required skills and characteristics
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with different audiences

We are looking for candidates with the following experience:

- Experience and confidence in using MS Office and Excel
- Secure knowledge and experience of child safeguarding policy and practice. Level 3 Safeguarding Lead qualification or a willingness to obtain this as part of the role
Desirable experience and skills
Ideally, candidates would have experience in a few of the following areas:
- Experience managing residential programmes or large-scale events as part of a team. Experience of designing educational programmes.

JOB TITLE: Senior Schools Education Officer - Digital Projects
DEPARTMENT: Education Team, Programmes Department, Foundation
LOCATION: Stamford Bridge (with regular delivery at educational establishments throughout the week)

JOB FUNCTION: To lead, teach and deliver on behalf of Chelsea FC Foundation the innovative Digital Blue Project. This will include the delivery of a range of initiatives and programmes as we develop this area of STEM provision for our local beneficiaries, Foundation wide.

PLAY YOUR PART (Main Responsibilities):
- Oversee the delivery of our Foundation Digital Blue programme; in line with Foundation outcomes and line management of associated officers and coordinators to ensure all elements meet required standards
- Develop and deliver further Digital Blue programme schemes to inspire participants of all targeted ages involved in the programme – which includes the creation of resources and promotional materials.
- Work collaboratively across the Foundation on our Digital Blue initiatives to identify potential service gaps, and potential for further grants to develop provision.
- Work with the Schools Education Manager and Futures Manager to identify development opportunities and service gaps within existing programmes.
- Support the Philanthropic Partnerships Team and Grants Teams with approaching suitable partners and/or funders as identified to develop programme funding opportunities.
- Attend Local Strategic Partnership Meetings to raise awareness of our local provision, and then network to enhance new funding and delivery opportunities
- Coordinate and devise scheduling or the delivery of Digital Education programme, including schools based and stadium sessions

The Marketing and Communications Officer plays a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility of, and driving registrations to, the Holocaust Educational Trust’s programmes with schools across England. Key responsibilities
All of the responsibilities below are achieved by working closely with the Trust’s programmes team and with the various external MarComms agencies that provide support to the Trust, ensuring that a programme of compelling content and campaigns is shared across email, social media, and web platforms, all designed to inspire teachers and school staff to engage in our programmes and initiatives. As our in-house link to the MarComms agency, you will:
- Support with the development and implementation of an integrated marketing plan, which will drive school engagement, and will translate in to school registration on to the government funded ‘Supporting Holocaust Survivor Testimony in Teaching’ initiative.
- Ensure that a programme of compelling content and campaigns is shared across email, social media, and web platforms, all designed to inspire teachers and school staff to engage in HET’s programmes, translating into school registrations
- Work with colleagues across the Trust, as well as agencies, to ensure that HET’s communications channels are effectively coordinated in line with a shared marcomms calendar
- Support the creation and management of marketing content and messaging across platforms, including website, social media, email newsletters, blog posts, sector press and other.

- Identify new sources of educational contacts, to build the Trust’s database and increase visibility of our marketing materials.

Education is central to our vision for the future. Our team focuses on equipping young people and their wider school and home communities with knowledge, understanding, skills, values and attitudes that promote sustainable development and care for the world’s people and resources.
The Resource Futures Education Team has worked over the past 17 years in developing and delivering high quality Education for Sustainable Development programmes, specialising in waste issues.
Your role will be part of the education team in Devon who enable schools and young people to develop more sustainable practices and lifestyles, specifically within the areas of waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting.
Our ideal candidate will live in or around the East Devon / Exeter / Teignbridge area, where the majority of delivery will take place, with some home working. For the successful candidate, there may be an opportunity to expand the number of hours you deliver on a short-term basis, dependent on funding opportunities.
What you will be doing
· Develop and deliver high quality education programmes in schools on the 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle - and composting, to include:
o Leading workshops, assemblies and waste audits.
o Advising school staff (including senior staff, cleaners, caretakers, kitchen staff and other non-teaching staff) on educational and practical waste issues.
o Support or lead school visits to waste management facilities such as recycling centres and energy from waste (EfW) plants.
· Recruit schools to the programme and ensure bookings, administration and preparation are undertaken to a high standard.
· Develop new learning and teaching materials to support the programme, including physical and e-resources.
· Create and maintain effective relationships with Devon County Council, district councils and other relevant organisations.
· Assist schools in the practicalities of setting up and maintaining their recycling and composting systems, in liaison with district councils.
· Work in partnership with Devon County Council to run events, competitions and teacher training courses.
· Develop effective and supportive relationships with primary, secondary and special schools across the Devon area.
· Keep accurate records of work, including data on schools visited and waste audit results.
· Monitor and evaluate the programme, including contribution towards the written annual report.
· Liaise with other Resource Futures colleagues on project tasks, such as publicity and promotion.
· Contribute to the Recycle Devon and Zone websites, School Sustainability Bulletin and social media where required.
· Help schools to access resources to write and implement climate action plans.
· Keep abreast of new developments and ideas in education, particularly education for sustainable development.
· Represent Resource Futures at external meetings.
· Identify opportunities for business development.
· Any other tasks as deemed appropriate to this post.

The essentials
· Previous experience working in or with primary schools, or experience or training in a relevant subject or area.
· Knowledge of education in schools including the National Curriculum.
· Demonstrable knowledge of sustainable resource and waste management issues and solutions, including composting.
· Demonstrable knowledge of and/or experience in education for sustainable development.
· Experience of monitoring and evaluation processes.
· Experience of developing learning and teaching materials.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
· Great interpersonal skills to motivate others.
· Ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team.
· Ability to perform calmly under pressure.
· Willingness to deliver workshops and activities outdoors as well as indoors.
· Competent IT user, particularly Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
· Current full driving licence with own transport or ability to travel easily in and around Devon. As this role will mainly take you to East Devon, Teignbridge and Exeter (as well as home working), you will need to be within easy commuting distance of these areas.
· Commitment to education and sharing expertise.
· Imaginative and resourceful as well as enthusiastic and constructive.
· Access to a compost bin/heap for some of the workshop delivery.
Great to haves
· Qualified teacher status (QTS).
· Experience of working in or with secondary and special schools.
· Knowledge of energy and carbon management issues and solutions.
· Experience of partnership working with Local Authorities and Districts or similar local organisations.
· Business development skills.
· Knowledge of other IT packages e.g. Canva, Eventbrite, Mailchimp and SurveyMonkey.
· Knowledge of climate action plans in education settings.
