Job description

Established in 1940, Davenies educates boys aged 4 to 13. In September 2020 Davenies turned 80 years’ old and, in recognition of this, and with our eyes set firmly on the future, the school is ambitious to provide a unique and exemplary educational experience for current and future pupils.

The school has developed a strategic plan that commits us to organisational, establishment and capital improvement supported by a Masterplan that details the future development of the school estate. We have identified the need to develop the STEM subjects and improve the drama and music experience for pupils, reflecting our forward-thinking approach to the Davenies educational experience, whilst also ensuring these facilities are available for the benefit of the wider local community.

This newly established role is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement a fundraising strategy to support an ambitious capital redevelopment plan and review the opportunity to establish a bursary scheme. The role is a two-year contract to establish the ongoing potential of fundraising and an alumni programme to support the school’s ambitious development plans.

You will be a high performing, self-starter with high-level relationship building skills and the experience of securing significant gifts, ideally for a capital appeal. With excellent communication skills and a creative mind set, you will be able to develop strong working relationships with the school’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop a sustainable fundraising income stream.
