Veterans With Dogs (VWD) is seeking a reliable, organised and detail-focused Finance Officer to support the day-to-day financial administration and routine financial reporting of our charity. 

This is a great opportunity for an experienced or finance professional looking for a small, flexible part-time role with a friendly and impactful charity supporting veterans living with mental health challenges through Assistance Dog partnerships.

Veterans With Dogs is a UK charity that transforms the lives of Armed Forces veterans living with mental health challenges. Through the provision of highly trained assistance dogs and trauma-informed support, we help restore purpose, independence, and dignity to those who have served.

Founded in 2012, our work addresses a vital gap for veterans living with PTSD, anxiety, depression, and complex trauma. Through our award-winning PALS™ (Partner Animal Life Skills) programme, we help veterans re-engage with life, with the support of a trusted companion by their side. 

Following a period of governance transition and renewal, we are entering a new and exciting phase. We are strengthening leadership, systems, and strategy to ensure long-term sustainability and greater reach. As we begin this next chapter, we are seeking a great new addition to our team. 

The Role 

We are looking for an experienced and dependable Finance Officer to take responsibility for the charity’s routine bookkeeping and financial administration, ensuring that our financial records are accurate, complete and up to date.

Working closely with the Operations Manager, CEO, and Treasurer Trustee, you will maintain our Xero accounting records, process and reconcile income and expenditure, help ensure donation records are accurately reflected on Salesforce, and produce regular financial information to support effective financial oversight and decision-making. 

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys keeping things organised, has excellent attention to detail and is comfortable working independently within a small charity.
