A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance with a learning disability charity, on a full-time, permanent basis. As Head of Finance, you will report directly to the Chief Executive. You will partner with members of the EMT to successfully and sustainably deliver the charity’s annual budget, growth plans, achieve organisational performance and effectiveness and jointly manage organisational risk.

Please note, there is hybrid working in place with this organisation with 1 day per week required in the office.

As Head of Finance, you will:

- Maintain and develop robust financial systems that ensure the utmost standards of governance and financial compliance, delivering a clean audit annually

- Manage the annual budgeting, forecasting, planning and treasury process ensuring the organisation remains on a sustainable footing

- Advise the CEO and Executive Management Team on all matters relating to financial performance

- Lead, motivate and manage the finance team

- Be responsible for the management of the external IT contract and organisational lead of information technology

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity and care sectors, in a similar role

- Be fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc)

- Have good working knowledge of the Charities Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP)

- Have a successful track record of leading high achievement teams

- Have experience of managing payroll, pension enrolment, VAT and finance systems

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Purpose:

To lead and support the delivery of high-quality mental health and wellbeing services across Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent from the Pontypool and Brynmawr offices of Mind in Gwent.

To manage, support and develop a small team of staff and volunteers to provide high-quality mental health and wellbeing services in Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent.

To develop and maintain strong, collaborative and positive relationships with local community organisations and stakeholders to enhance community reach and opportunities for service growth, sustainability and funding.

To oversee the day-to-day operations and running of the Pontypool and Brynmawr offices and services of Mind in Gwent.

To secure funding, grants and income growth in partnership with Mind in Gwent’s Income Generation and Business Development Team to improve and grow mental health and wellbeing services in Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Lead and coordinate mental health and wellbeing projects and services, ensuring they meet service user needs and align with organisational objectives.

2. Provide line management, supervision, and support to project staff and volunteers

3. Monitor and evaluate service outcomes, producing reports and updates for internal and external stakeholders such as the leadership team and funders, maintaining accurate records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation frameworks.

4. Oversee the day-to-day management of Mind in Gwent’s Pontypool and Brynmawr premises, ensuring safety, accessibility, and regulatory compliance (e.g., health & safety, fire regulations) liaising with contractors, landlords, and suppliers for building maintenance and improvements.

5. Research, identify, and apply for funding opportunities including grants, tenders, and local authority commissioning, supporting budget planning and financial monitoring of funded activities.

6. Actively build and maintain relationships with funders, local community groups, statutory bodies, and other voluntary sector organisations working in collaboration to coproduce and to develop joint mental and wellbeing services, referral pathways and funding bids.

7. Represent the organisation at community events, forums, and strategic networks.

8. Ensure services are delivered in line with organisational policies, safeguarding standards, and relevant legislation.

Main Requirements:

• Strong experience in LGBTQIA+ youth work, and understanding intersecting social issues impacting young LGBTQIA+ people

About the Role

As a service delivery assistant you will be:

Supporting the service manager to provide a high quality service to victims of domestic abuse.
Be the initial point of contact for families referred into the service, completing initial risk and needs assessments over the phone

• Support the caseworking team in their community outreach programme with resources and liaison with areas as required. This programme focuses on areas containing a high population of Naval personnel to include (but not limited to) Culdrose, Yeovilton, Plymouth and Devon.

• Reach out to families through attendance at community events, presentations to schools and other organisations.

VOLUNTEERS & FUNDRAISING

• Develop, manage, train and steward a network of regional volunteers and individual fundraisers, particularly in areas with strong Naval presence.

• Educated to A Level or equivalent standard or above

What Makes This Role Special

This role combines essential Salesforce administration skills with a hands-on data management. While you'll need strong Salesforce technical capabilities for system configuration, user management, and troubleshooting, much of your day-to-day work will involve processing and maintaining supporter data. What You'll Do

Salesforce Administration:

• Manage Salesforce CRM including user management, permissions, system configuration, and security
• Deploy updates, maintain custom fields and flows, and ensure data integrity
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues

Data Management & Processing:

• Process and maintain data from multiple external platforms and income sources
• Keep supporter records up to date including addresses, direct debit details, and preferences
• Conduct regular data quality checks, error correction, and reconciliation processes

Reporting & Analytics:

• Generate data reports and create dashboards for management and teams
• Extract and compile data for mailings, campaigns, and impact reporting

Technology & Innovation:

• Support implementation of AI integration (Dataro) and evaluate new Salesforce features

Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to support the Governance and Events Team by undertaking events related operations for the 39th WAGGGS World Conference (taking place in June 2026), and any other WAGGGS events as needed.

The 39th WAGGGS World Conference is a four-day event that will take place in Cambodia in June 2026 in partnership with the host organisation, the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia. This is the main platform for decision-makers in our 153 Member Organisations to gather for networking, learning and consultation on the direction of the Movement. A pre-event for youth attendees under the age of 30 will take place before the conference. 

About the Role:

This role operates within a volunteer-led global charitable organisation with 153 Member Organisations. It provides the inspiration, knowledge and direction to continually protect and enhance WAGGGS’ rich legacy and expand its collective reach and impact. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with staff, volunteers, and attendees from across our Movement - each bringing their own unique perspectives and experiences. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Be responsible for maintaining the registration site and event website (using the events management software, Cvent) including individual event databases, providing reports as required and ensuring good communication with participants via email. 

2. Provide administrative and logistical support for all aspects of online and in-person Event Management. This includes assisting volunteers and staff with registration and platform issues, and, if appropriate, travel arrangements and accommodation. 

3. Ensure internal and external communications with Member Organisations, participants, staff members and volunteers and event suppliers are timely, relevant and of a high quality. 

4. Undertake the processing of grants, invoices, staff and volunteer expenses and other related financial administration ensuring compliance with legislation and WAGGGS policies and guidelines. 

5. Writing, designing, and sending event documents and communications on time. Proof-reading of the documents and communications before sending them. 

6. Be responsible for, and able to evidence, own personal development by undertaking relevant training, attending meetings, conferences and events ensuring that you are updated in all matters relevant to the role within your Personal Development Plan agreed with your manager.
