We’re seeking a tenacious individual, whether a recent graduate or someone with one to three years of experience in a communications/marketing role, to join our expanding Marketing and Communications Team. This role offers an ideal opportunity to capture compelling stories and amplify our charity’s voice while further developing your career in our dynamic team.

Reporting to our Communications Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering the Communications Strategy, crafting content across a range of platforms including The Pilgrims’ Magazine, our website, newsletters and social media.

Strong writing skills are an absolute must for this role, as is a keen eye for design and high levels of digital literacy. As an adept communicator with excellent attention to detail, you’ll be able to turn your hand to anything, from magazine features to short form videos, keeping abreast of the latest trends.

A natural people person with innate curiosity, you’ll embrace opportunities to visit our care homes and housing schemes and capture the stories of life with us – not just those of the older people who live there, but also those of our brilliant staff and volunteers. You’ll then devise creative ways to share these stories so they connect with our different audiences, from prospective residents to new supporters and beyond.

A self-starter, you’ll need to be able to work independently within agreed brand guidelines and with minimal supervision. You’ll also need to be highly organised, ensuring that deadlines are met and that content lands in a timely manner. Through analytics, you’ll monitor engagement, using these insights to inform our evolving content plan and drive growth.

As well as creating compelling content for our core communications platforms, you’ll also provide valuable support to our ambitious press plan, helping to amplify the voice of Pilgrims’ Friend Society in local and national media.

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated Director of Training to take over strategic leadership of the Reprezent Training Programme. You’ll build on our existing model to develop and finance a full calendar of training delivery, working alongside the existing team of trainers and station staff to maximise the potential impact on our beneficiaries. Our programme has provided life-changing opportunities to thousands of previous trainees, both within and outside of the media industry, and this role would give you the chance to put your own unique spin on our established and well-loved brand.

Reprezent is a not-for-profit social enterprise and specialist youth development organisation. Our award-winning approach helps young people to realise their full personal potential by providing training and development programmes that enable them to jumpstart their careers and develop a core suite of social, emotional and broadcast skills. We have been a pivotal stepping stone for hundreds of artists and broadcasting presenters aspiring to break into the mainstream over the last two decades, including Stormzy, Munya Chawawa, Jorja Smith and Jamz Supernova, and have helped thousands more young people to meet other personal development goals.

At the helm of our operation is Reprezent Radio, a dynamic youth-led community radio station based in South London. Since 2010 the station’s hallmark has been empowering young voices and championing the narratives of diverse and underrepresented communities, and as a result many of our beneficiaries are those deemed ‘hardest-to-reach’ (young black South Londoners, early school leavers, second generation immigrants).

Our unique training model combines in-person training courses with work experience placements at the station, resulting in a cohesive programme of entry-to-advanced level training provision and an active waiting list of over two thousand people.

Location

This role is a hybrid position, working both from home and with regular attendance required at our office/training space in Peckham and our station headquarters in Brixton.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Executive Team to develop a Sustainable Growth Strategy for our training department. This should contain concrete plans for income generation and beneficiary impact KPIs for the short, medium and long term. This process will involve:

  • Strategic analysis of competitors and market need.

  • Critical evaluation of existing frameworks and assets.

  • Researching available grants and fundraising opportunities.

  • Exploring other revenue opportunities through networks and brand partnerships.

• Once the Sustainable Growth Strategy has been drawn up, management of its implementation and ongoing development. This will include:

  • Writing and developing bids to appropriate funders and corporate partners.

  • Undertaking dynamic reviews of the programme after each major round of delivery, reviewing trainee feedback and outcomes and adapting the provision accordingly.

  • Developing new offerings to meet market need.

  • Overseeing work experience placements within the radio station, ensuring that the progress and wellbeing of beneficiaries is monitored and developed.

  • Optimising the use of available facilities.

• Overseeing the end-to-end delivery of funded projects, from application through to evaluation.

• Line managing the training team.

Requirements

• Significant experience in strategic planning and programme development.

• A proven track record of writing and delivering large successful fundraising bids.

This newly created role will be part of the senior leadership team and lead the fundraising function at Action Syria. We are looking to recruit a Director of Programmes, Partnerships and Advocacy to lead a team of high-performing programme and partnerships managers who guide our relationships with a portfolio of 45 local partners, supporting them in their social witness through a £2.4m programme of grants, and capacity support.

The Director will also lead the development of our advocacy work, collaborating closely with the CEO and Director of Fundraising to develop our policies, messaging and strategy to increase our reach through effective lobbying and campaigning consistent with our theory of change, and strategic vision and mission. This cross-cutting work will include working with our programme team, our communications team, and church engagement team as part of a shared approach to advocacy, campaigning, and public engagement.

Advocacy is a growing part of our work, inspired and guided by the voices of our partners – primarily speaking and acting in relation to:

• the presence and role of Christians in the Middle East
• issues of peace, justice and equal rights in Israel and Palestine
• refugees and internally displaced people across the Middle East

Informed by Christian voices from the Middle East, we engage with Bishops and church leaders, politicians, and with our engagement team seek to educate and mobilise the UK public. Resources will be available for the Director to recruit a dedicated advocacy team member to complement their skills and support them and the team to achieve Embrace’s advocacy aspirations.

We are looking for someone who can bring to Embrace a wealth of international development partnership and grant making experience, alongside their passion and skills to drive and develop Embrace’s public and private advocacy. Like everyone else at Embrace you will be fired up by our mission, and in tune with our values.

Naturally, you will be well versed in complex policy issues within sensitive settings, familiar with acting as a media spokesperson, and dedicated to engaging with communities experiencing injustice and marginalisation.

CISWO is a national charity whose mission is to improve the lives of individuals and communities facing disadvantage due to the impact of the coal mining industry.

We are looking for a development manager with a range of skills and experiences to support other mining charities develop a sustainable future. You will have a background in partnership working and developing funding opportunities, as well as a good understanding of charity governance.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in community and / or business development with a good knowledge of the charity sector.

As Development Manager, you will:

• Support mining charities to develop business plans and budgeting and help them to identify funding opportunities and develop funding proposals.
• Provide secretariat services to mining related regional grant making charities. 
• Contribute to the development of and promote the organisations support offer for other mining charities, seeking new methods of supporting local trustees.
• Support the recruitment and training of local trustees and officers, encouraging good governance
• Develop local partnership working with other voluntary sector organisations, tiers of local government and local communities.
• Ensure the organisation interests and responsibilities in partner charities are retained and fulfilled.
• Represent the organisation with external parties, including, welfare charities, councils and local authorities as required

The essential qualities, skills and experience you will need to apply for this role:

• Experience of community development and / or business development and an understanding of business planning and budgets
• Experience of identifying and applying for funding on a national, regional, or local level.
• Proven experience of working in the charity sector with a good understanding of governance requirements and the challenges facing the sector.
• Proven experience in building confidence and a positive reputation with stakeholders.
• Ability to be self-motivated, with good personal organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to resolve problems in a logical, proactive, practical and positive manner
• Ability to take initiative with a practical, ‘hands on’ approach to work
• A valid driving licence and own transport with the flexibility for some travel

Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands have a rewarding opportunity to lead our team committed to providing support to families across the Moorlands, responding to the challenges within the charity sector.

We are seeking a manager, with a range of skills, able to lead the team, oversee the operations of the charity, provide support to the Trustee board, and ensure the future financial strength of the charity. We are seeking a manager who can provide strategic leadership and vision, has strong communication skills, has knowledge of charity finance and skills in bid writing and income generation, and who is passionate about the early years and the work of Home-Start.

Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands has operated successfully in the Moorlands district for 25 years. We have a strong track record in the delivery of both home visiting support through our skilled Coordinators and Volunteer team and in Group provision for the early years.

The successful candidate should

• Demonstrate experience of leadership and management in a changing environment
