The Role

This is a permanent role, based in London, requiring a minimum of two days a week in the office. It comes with a salary of £38,000 p/a (inclusive of London weighting). This role involves managing the Individual Giving (IG) and Legacy income pipelines, overseeing expenditure required to raise income, and providing monthly monitoring while using data analysis to evaluate fundraising results. Additionally, it requires the development and implementation of strategies to retain, recruit, and acquire new supporters aligned with the values of the Cardinal Hume Centre as well as an ability to provide excellent stewardship ensuring donors receive a personalised and warm donor experience.

This is an exciting 2 day a week role to be part of the growing Newham District Foodbank and Ascension’s Advice Service. On 9th June 2021 Ascension’s foodbank officially became part of the Trussell Trust network. We were named Newham District Foodbank, because our plan is to expand to more than one distribution centre to ensure that people across the whole of Newham are well supported. In this role you will manage the poverty response work of Ascension Community Trust, including its foodbank. You will provide high level strategic work, including liaising with donors, referral partners and other local foodbanks and support new partners into Newham District Foodbank. Your role will include fundraising for and reporting on the work of Newham District Foodbank, including local partnership funding. • Develop and maintain relationships with current artists and influencers, developing their involvement with Save the Children in creative and innovative ways.
• Target and recruit new A&I supporters, whilst nurturing long term relationships with a view where relevant, to eventual commitment on Ambassador level.  Keep up to date with supporters' broader schedules, spotting new opportunities for engagement as they arise.
• Write and present inspiring proposals for artists, agents, managers and publicists, creating and defining the right pitch for the right potential ambassador.

About you

Ways of Working:

The Trusts and Foundations Manager will further develop and review their current trusts and foundations strategy, with a focus on growing and renewing five- and six-figure income from Trusts, Foundations and grant making bodies. This is an ideal role for an experienced and collaborative Trust fundraiser, capable of developing long-lasting relationships and build compelling cases for support that secure transformational donations for an iconic institution.

We’re seeking a Senior Philanthropy Manager to join our fantastic Philanthropy and Partnerships team following an internal promotion.

Over the last five years, the Philanthropy team has gone from strength to strength, and we are now laying the foundations for long-term growth. We are building the tools, vision, and expertise to drive philanthropic income at Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Senior Philanthropy Manager is a key role in helping us deliver on our mission to double survival rates of pancreatic cancer by growing major donor income.

This role is responsible for delivering on three key areas of the major donor programme:

-Managing and growing a portfolio of major donor and high value supporters. Specifically focusing on encouraging and making the ask for long-term, multi-year 5-6 figure gifts.

-Driving major donor new business activity to build a sustainable pipeline using internal data analysis tools alongside network mapping exercises.

-Working collaboratively across the team to provide tailored stewardship journeys and experiences which build meaningful relationships with our closest supporters and demonstrate the impact of their support on our mission.

· You will have a track record of securing philanthropic donations and growing major donor pipelines.

· You will be a brilliant relationship fundraiser, able to build relationships, garner trust and inspire action.

The Programme Manager role is responsible for developing strategies within our healthcare funding areas and looking after a large, diverse and varied portfolio of grants. This includes a mixture of working closely with applicants to shape larger strategic research and fast-paced and impactful response-mode funding. This role will work with grants in the technology, research and innovation, medical equipment and healthcare transformation space. The post holder will work closely with Great Ormond Street Hospital and its academic partner the Institute of Child Health in UCL, to support funding and management of grants, giving an opportunity to expand and develop your research management skills to that in clinical, NHS setting, whilst seeing the real-life impact the funding makes for our beneficiaries. 
 
About the Team
This exciting role sits within the Impact and Charitable Programmes Department. The Department is responsible for ensuring charitable funding supports the highest quality projects within our funding priority areas of: research; patient and family experience; technology and medical equipment; hospital staff support; education; and environment (through supporting redevelopment projects and capital builds). The department is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating funded projects to ensure greatest impact, and providing support to fundraising teams with information on the projects the charity funds.

About You
You will have extensive healthcare, scientific and /or research management experience and be confident operating independently to develop and take projects forward. You will also develop excellent working relationships with senior external and internal stakeholders at the hospital, UCL Institute of Child Health and across the Charity.
 
Specifically, you will have:

- An advanced research degree (PhD) in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience
- Research grants management experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish good working relationships
