About the Role
We’re looking for a flexible, compassionate and organised Project Worker to join us from October. You’ll support our Winter Night Shelter, assist with guest services and casework, and lead on communications through social media and newsletters.
This varied role offers a unique insight into frontline homelessness work, while building skills in project delivery, volunteer management, and digital content creation.

About the role
University Access Officers are responsible for delivering The Access Project’s high impact mentoring programme to students across our partner schools. This role works with a caseload of students supporting them from the start of Year 10 up to the end of Year 13 to understand the pathway to a top university.
The role also involves project coordination, working with our schools, volunteers and teams across The Access Project to ensure our young people are fully supported and have the best possible chance of achieving social mobility and enhancing their future prospects.
This role is for a University Access Officer to work across our two schools in Cumbria, The Whitehaven Academy and Workington Academy. Our schools are shown on a map on our website.
Role responsibilities
- Work directly with young people mentoring a caseload of students in a professional and safe manner.
- Deliver our University Readiness programme through in-depth, targeted 1:1 mentoring sessions with Year 10 to Year 13 students.
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications.
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme.
- Match students with volunteer tutors.
- Monitor student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourage attendance.
- Monitor the impact of tutorials and intervene as appropriate.
- Build and manage relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme.
- Manage tutor attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring systems.
- Lead on quality assurance of tuition pairings/grouping completing a caseload of drop ins.
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided).
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme.

Training and Development
You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime. Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. Currently, our services are active in London and Manchester.As the post holder you will be responsible for delivering our front-line work to young people, parents and other adults (professionals). You will work in schools and in community settings across the North West of England to generate impact for young people using Khulisa’s trauma-informed approach. The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel regularly to various locations in in the North West of England as necessary to fulfil the requirements of the role, to deliver aspects of the programme, and to engage with other stakeholders and colleagues.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Programme Delivery:
· Facilitate the delivery of sessions in our flagship Face It programme and modular workshops to young people, our Nurturing Connections programme for parents and carers, and our trauma training for professionals.
· Facilitate delivery to a high standard in all settings (schools, youth services, and community spaces), ensuring that you are always taking a trauma informed approach.
· Facilitate various youth participation workshops, co-delivering with young people as much as practicable.

The main duties of the role

Just a Drop is an international NGO working to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to communities in need, transforming lives. Our projects have benefitted almost two million people across 32 countries since we began in 1998.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Internship in our Programmes Team based near Gillingham in Dorset. Consisting of three Programme Managers and a Head of Programmes, the JaD Programmes Team oversees all aspects of project design and delivery with nine partners in seven countries.
We are looking for someone who would like to build their skills and experience in the International Development Sector. You will support a number of functions from project management to monitoring and evaluation. The successful candidate will also gain exposure to all aspects of JaD’s award winning work in the WASH sector.
Role Overview
The Programmes Intern (PI) will work with four other programmes staff in the Programmes Team and will support the team by undertaking a range of activities concerned with all aspects of JaD project design, coordination, delivery, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) and formal reporting. The PI will also interact with our team of Technical Advisers, as well as liaising with members of our Fundraising and Communications team, providing support in securing funding for approved projects and assisting in the flow of information on the delivery of JaD projects and programmes to external audiences.
There is flexibility for the person in this role to work part time (three days a week for ten months or four days a week for seven and a half months) or full time (five days a week for six months). The Intern will receive payment of £12.21 per hour, as well as NI and pension contributions. They will be expected to attend our Programmes Office near Gillingham in Dorset one day a week, with the remaining days worked from home.
Personal Specification

ABOUT THE POLITICS PROJECT
We support young people to use their voice by providing them with outstanding democratic education. We work with young people, teachers and politicians to help them to learn, teach and engage in politics. We are a non-partisan organisation working across the UK.
We also coordinate the Democracy Classroom network, a partnership between over 100 civil society organisations that supports young people to engage in elections.
The Politics Project delivers Digital Dialogue: Wales, which supports young people to have meaningful conversations with the politicians that represent them, building trust and relationships on both sides. Young people gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to engage in the democratic process through informed interactions with their elected representatives.
These interactions take place both online and in-person, in classrooms across Wales.
Since 2021 over 5550 young people, 130 teachers and 130 Welsh politicians (including the leaders of four political parties represented in the Senedd) have taken part in the programme.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Programme Coordinator will plan, arrange and facilitate Dialogue sessions, where learners question and discuss issues relevant to young people with their political representatives. The post holder will also support schools and colleges to deliver Youth Hustings for the 2026 Senedd and 2027 Local elections, giving learners the opportunity to meet, and ask questions to, candidates standing in their area.
The Politics Project wants Digital Dialogue: Wales to fundamentally change the way that young people and politicians interact across Wales. Help us to make sure that young people get their voices heard.
Working with the Head of Programmes and the Digital Dialogue: Wales Programme Lead, the post holder would support the delivery and growth of Digital Dialogue: Wales, allowing more young people, teachers and politicians to take part. This is a fast-paced role in a small but growing team.
While fluency in Welsh is preferred, it is not a requirement for this role.
The post holder will:
- Work with the Head of Programmes and the Digital Dialogue: Wales Programme Lead to support the delivery of the Digital Dialogue: Wales programme.

The Politics Project is based in London, but the post holder for this role will be based in Wales. They will usually work from home, though we would expect the post holder to come to the London office once a month and attend in person meetings in Wales as required. It is an 18-month contract (including a 6-month probation period), with extension possible subject to funding. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required.

ABOUT YOU
You will have a passion for democratic education. You will be a self-starter, comfortable setting their own pace of work and managing their deadlines with only some supervision. You can form good relationships with a range of people from different backgrounds and perspectives. You can negotiate, persuade, problem solve and be flexible to meet stakeholder needs. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

The Legal Administrator is a key component of the Asylum Aid team, overseeing all of our administrative systems and processes, and providing vital administrative support to our legal casework staff.
The Training Programme Coordinator supports the delivery of Asylum Aid’s two strategic partnerships that aim to help address the continuing fall in availability of immigration advice across England and Wales. The Compass Project and the Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) Partnership are designed to increase learning, collaboration and peer support opportunities between advice agencies and ultimately improve the provision of immigration advice to people seeking asylum, refugees, and other vulnerable people in the immigration system. This role provides key administrative support and coordination to ensure the effective delivery of both the Compass and MJGL training projects, working closely with Asylum Aid’s Immigration Supervisors and Director of Legal Casework, as well as external consultants, including the Learning Partner, managers and advisers at partner organisations.
Compass is Asylum Aid’s Advisor Development Programme of training, supervision and peer support for immigration advisers working in advice deserts across England and Wales. It is funded by the Justice Together Initiative. More information about the project can be found on our website here.
The Migrant Justice Greater London (MJGL) project is a partnership between Asylum Aid, Refugee Action and Praxis, designed to deliver legal training and supervision to frontline organisations across London. It is funded by the Greater London Authority.
Key responsibilities
Legal Administrator (approximately 4 days a week)
· To manage incoming and outgoing legal post in line with Asylum Aid’s procedures
· To post, email or arrange the dispatch of legal correspondence to clients, the Home Office, court or tribunal, counsel etc
· To receive and make telephone calls relating to casework activity, as well as covering the receptionist function in answering general incoming calls
· To manage the legal enquiries email inbox, triaging emails as appropriate
· To manage the team calendar and oversee key dates system
· To schedule and book appointments for clients, including the booking of interpreters or other experts where necessary
· To ensure all Legal Aid Agency monitoring information and other related information on cases such as disbursements and payment of invoices is recorded timely and accurately
· To assist with the preparation of electronic documents for the Home Office, court or tribunal
· To organise and maintain Asylum Aid’s legal archive, case filing system, legal library, and other documents
· To attend legal team meetings
· To assist Asylum Aid’s Billing Coordinator/caseworkers with preparation of files for billing where necessary
· To assist with general office administration, including administering petty cash
· To supervise the work of the Legal Administration Volunteer(s)
· To assist the Director in the administration of the Refugee Legal Group (RLG), which is a Google based group hosted by Asylum Aid
Training Programme Coordinator (approximately 1 day a week)
· To provide general administrative support for the Compass and MJGL programmes
· To monitor project timelines, plans, and budgets
· To organise in-person and remote training events, draft meeting agendas, take accurate minutes, coordinate travel for project participants, make and record project payments and provide logistical support for in-person events
· To assist in the promotion of the projects, including assisting with drafting external communications and social media, outreach to identify potential partner organisations, and supporting the recruitment of project participants
· To act as a central point of contact for multiple training projects, liaising with key stakeholders, including participant organisations, funders, the learning partner, and the clinical supervision provider
· To support the Learning Partner in monitoring and learning from the two projects, including facilitating learning opportunities with the partners and other organisations.

Selection Process
