This role delivers a range of dynamic and engaging financial education programmes to young people, adults, and professionals. As part of our Programmes and Delivery Directorate, our Trainers love working with our participants; they’re the front line of our work, representing Money Ready’s exceptional programme quality in a range of settings.

This role will work with both children and adults across our programme suite and will require significant travel to our delivery locations throughout the area to deliver face-to-face sessions to diverse groups of learners. Occasional virtual sessions will also need to be delivered. We are proud of the quality of trainers we hire, and we have a good mix of people, including former primary and secondary teachers and youth workers.

You will be joining an excellent team who know their stuff, so there will be ample opportunity for you to learn and to provide feedback on where our programmes might improve. You do not need to be an existing expert on financial education; we will train you on everything you need to know.

Purpose of the Role

The main purpose of the role is to carry out and assist in the administration and day to day running of the ESU’s educational programmes, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and managing delivery staff to ensure collective goals and objectives are reached.

• Support with the smooth running and delivery of ESU Education’s domestic programmes. 
• Be the first respondent to incoming calls and emails from educators, ESU partners and the general public, providing timely and professional responses to all enquiries. 
• Manage ESU spreadsheets and data across various Excel and our CRM system to ensure clean and accurate data collection and collation. 
• As needed, support with the development and improvement of education resources 
• Liaise with the ESU’s Accounts Department regarding invoicing, delivery staff pay and expenses. 
• Maintain accurate records of all bookings, delivery staff status, schools, public feedback and other relevant information. 
• To support the delivery of workshops in schools, undertaking training to ensure delivery and teaching matches ESU standards.

• Assist the department in ad-hoc admin work as needed such as printing 
• Participate in call-rounds as part of the department’s sales and onboarding efforts

About the role

Sightsavers are seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to be responsible for the programmatic management and implementation/delivery of the Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention (MMDP) and Disease Management and Disability Inclusion (DMDI) targets under the Reaching the Last Mile (RLM) MMDP ELMA/EFLA (Eliminating LF in Africa) DMDI projects in Uganda.

As the Project Coordinator MMDP you will deliver the programme targets and work closely with the Ministry of Health NTD Program to help with impact assessment and advocacy for the elimination of Lymphatic Filariasis in Uganda and health system strengthening. You will also identify and contribute to programme growth and development in collaboration with partners and colleagues.

Further responsibilities include:

Strategic Programme Planning and Development

• Participate in strategic planning processes to successfully drive the direction and delivery of cost-effective services for MMDP and ensure the objectives under RLM ELMA/ELFA are met and contribute to the national policies and elimination goals in Uganda.

• In collaboration with partners and Ministry of Health, help develop strategies to address the hydrocele and lymphoedema cases in Uganda as part of efforts towards elimination of NTDs in Uganda.

• Provide leadership and guidance to the programme to ensure that MMDP maps are available to help track and ensure that patients get counselling and treatment/surgeries.

• Deliver on Facility assessments - Hydrocele Facility Assessment (HFAT) and Lymphedema Facility Assessment (LFAT).

• Support patient estimation and uptake using WHO recommend approaches for patients' identification.

• Coordinate the planning, budgeting, progress tracking of both plan and budget and reporting of RLM ELMA/ELFA MMDP activities in Uganda.

Programme Management

• Provide effective management, coordination, technical advice and resource allocation necessary to support delivery of MMDP/DMDI (hydrocoele and lymphoedema) under RLM ELMA/ELFA funding.

• Support NGO partners to establish and maintain effective relationships with the Ministry of Health and other partners in order to advance sustainable national plans and integrate them into the existing public health delivery systems.

• Support implementation of Social and Behaviour Change Initiatives for Lymphedema and Hydrocele Management in Uganda.

• Oversee the surgical and self-care supply aspect of the MMDP through surgical supply of Filaricele Anatomical Surgical Task Trainer (FASTT) materials, provision of FASTT Training Package, washing kit for lymphoedema management (using lymphoedema calculator).

• Provide support for surgical delivery of hydrocoele and lymphoedema MMDP/DMDI from provision of management and surgery to case reporting, supervision and post-surgical data review and analysis.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Lead on supporting each implementing partner in developing a system for

monitoring and evaluating programme performance.

• Provide direction and support to assist country research teams and help them to identify operational research opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of NTD elimination efforts.

Advocacy and Strategic Alliances

• Build and maintain meaningful working relationships with a variety of partners and other stakeholders at national level to strengthen opportunities for advocacy and higher visibility.

• Ensure programme information flow is maintained across the Sightsavers’ country teams and directorates, the Ministries of Health and other key partners.

Skills and Experience

As the successful candidate you will have experience, and/or a post graduate degree, in Public Health, Medical/Biological/Social Sciences or related disciplines, and have extensive experience on strategic programme development. We are also keen for the post holder to have a wealth of experience in programme/ project management in an INGO environment.

Further requirements include:

• Technical knowledge on Lymphatic Filariasis and any other Preventive Chemotherapy NTDs in Uganda.

• Experience of managing and community-based health interventions.

• A demonstrated record of accomplishment in developing and managing public health programmes.

• Understanding of the health system in Uganda.

• Experience of monitoring and evaluation (including ability to conduct and supervise impact assessment in one or more of the five PC NTDs).

• Be the Programme Manager for The Cumbrian Way programme including:

Manage School Relationships:

Democracy Classroom is a partnership of over 100 civil society organisations from the youth, education and democracy sectors working together to support young people to engage in elections and democracy. 

The network is supported by the Democracy Classroom platform, which brings together over 1000 free educational resources for teachers and youth practitioners.

Democracy Classroom is a non-partisan, UK-wide initiative and a leading voice for the sector, reaching teachers and youth practitioners in 95% of the UK’s parliamentary constituencies. It coordinates the collective voice of organisations committed to democratic education, including through its joint submission to the Department for Education’s Curriculum and Assessment Review and the publication of The Roadmap to Votes at 16, a collaborative vision for the implementation of Votes at 16.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Programme Coordinator, you’ll support the work of our Communications and Networks Team while helping keep our office and digital platforms running seamlessly. 

You will:

Website and digital

• Maintain and update the Democracy Classroom website with resources and programme content.

• Work with colleagues to upload reports, blogs and event details.

Operations

• Oversee day-to-day office administration, including supplies, IT support liaison and record-keeping.

• Support finance processes, including invoices, expenses and financial tracking.

• Maintain key operational systems such as our CRM, database and filing systems.

Events and programmes

• Coordinate logistics for meetings and events (online and in-person), including venues, catering and participant communications.

• Support programme delivery by liaising with facilitators, partners and participants.

Team support

• Provide diary management and scheduling support for senior staff where needed.

• Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes and track actions.

• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and HR processes.

You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to wider organisational projects and learn new skills as our work evolves.

The job is based on a 14 month fixed term contract (including a 6-month probation period), with opportunities for extension. 

The Politics Project is based in central London, with a mixture of in person and remote working. The hours of work are 37.5 hrs per week. Occasional travel to elsewhere in the UK and working unsocial hours in evenings and at weekends may be required.

Purpose of the Role 

The HR Officer provides comprehensive HR support across the organisation, ensuring best practice and compliance with employment legislation. This role covers the full employee lifecycle, HR administration & HR system admin, policy implementation, and coordinating employee engagement initiatives, while contributing to long-term HR projects and organisational change. 

Key Responsibilities 

Employee Lifecycle Management 

• Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and concerns. 

• Coordinate recruitment processes, including building job packs, setting up roles on BrightHR, advertising vacancies, and supporting shortlisting. 

• Schedule and coordinate interviews. 

• Prepare employment contracts and issue HR letters (e.g., annual pay reviews, leave requests). 

• Manage pre-employment checks and ensure new employees receive starter information. 

• Plan and oversee induction for all new staff. 

• Support probation reviews and oversee the bi-annual appraisal processes. 

HR Administration 

• Maintain accurate employee records in BrightHR and BrightSafe. 

• Complete regular HR admin activities and manage queries from staff and managers. 

• Track and report monthly staff absence data. 

• Inform the payroll bureau of monthly changes affecting pay (salary/hour changes, joiner/leaver, bank account changes, maternity, sickness, etc.) and liaise with Finance to verify payroll. 

• Ensure Data Protection procedures are followed for all HR records. 

Policy & Compliance 

• Support the implementation and periodic review of HR policies and procedures. 

• Maintaining the policy register. 

• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with employment legislation. 

• Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on HR policies and legal obligations. 

• Ensuring DBS checks are carried out for colleagues having access to children’s data and visiting schools 

Employee Engagement & Wellbeing 

• Help coordinate the wellbeing committee. 

• Promote staff benefits, including eye care vouchers, pension schemes, and electric car salary sacrifice. 

• Manage the staff training programme in BrightHR and BrightSafe, ensuring completion of mandatory training and promoting non-mandatory development opportunities. 

Projects & Organisational Development 

• Lead and support HR projects to improve processes and systems. 

• Assist with organisational change initiatives and contribute to HR strategy development. 

• Support long-term projects such as benefits review and pension provider transition. 

Offboarding 

• Handle the leaver process, ensuring smooth offboarding and accurate record updates. 

• Ensuring the exit interview is carried out, share with the line managers and ELT 

Supporting ELT (approximately 5 hours per week) 

• Coordinating multi-calendar meetings 

• Analysis and research to support initiatives 

• Coordinating projects 

Skills & Experience 

• CIPD Level 5 (preferred) 

• Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment legislation. 

• Excellent organisational and communication skills. 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with managers and staff. 

• Knowledge and skills in managing an HR system. 

• Experience in HR administration and employee relations. 

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
