Trinity Winchester is seeking a skilled and experienced Trusts and Grants Fundraiser to join our established team and play a key role in securing income, strengthening revenue streams, and growing sustainable funding for our work.

Trinity is a Winchester-based charity which addresses the effects of homelessness and vulnerability through specialist practical and emotional support, and proactive prevention, empowering positive change.

We help people who are vulnerable to the effects of homelessness, addiction, physical and mental ill health, poverty, social isolation and domestic abuse. We offer solutions, hope, choice and control.

From humble beginnings, Trinity has grown into a respected and skilful organisation helping people to improve their lives. We provide vital practical and emotional support to over 640 people each year who are experiencing the effects of homelessness or vulnerability.

Our dedicated Women’s Service sees over 150 women each year. We support them to make positive change to their lives and in many cases break free from the damaging cycle of domestic abuse.

We aim to support individuals to change their situation and aspire towards positive fulfilling futures.

This role is responsible for generating income from charitable trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies to support the organisation’s mission and strategic priorities. The postholder will research opportunities, develop compelling funding applications, manage a pipeline of prospects, and steward funder relationships to secure and retain income. They will also work closely with colleagues across the organisation to gather information, develop budgets, and produce high-quality reports demonstrating impact.

Key Responsibilities

· Identify, research, and prioritise prospective trusts, foundations, statutory funders, and other grant-making bodies that align with the organisation’s work.

· Prepare and submit high-quality, persuasive, and tailored funding applications, proposals, and expressions of interest.

· Develop strong cases for support by working with programme, finance, and senior colleagues to gather evidence, budgets, outcomes, and impact data.

Essential

The Role

The Trusts & Grants Officer is responsible for delivering income from trusts, foundations and statutory funders through proactive prospect research, high quality applications, relationship management and timely reporting, contributing directly to FareShare Midlands’ income targets and growth plans.

Trusts & Grants Delivery

• Manage a portfolio of trust, foundation and grant funders
• Writing applications and reports

Relationships Manager – Trusts and Appeals

Main Purpose of the Job

The Trusts and Appeals Relationships Manager’s job is to be the ‘go to’ person for trusts and grant making bodies who may support Treetops. They will generate income for Treetops by building strong and lasting relationships with existing and potential trust and grant giving organisation through submitting strong applications to them and reporting back to them in an effective way.

You will also run an appeal programme across channels including online, offline and post and liaise with suppliers and contractors. You’ll understand and define audiences, think creatively about how we can reach them, write compellingly about our services and those we support, and you’ll make our supporters feel really appreciated so they want to give again.

Primary Responsibilities

The post holder will:

· Develop, implement and continually evaluate the trust and grant application strategy to maximise potential income from both regular and new trusts and foundations.

· Understand the organisational funding needs including core funding, projects, and capital expenditure.

· Research potential trust funders (local, regional, national, and if appropriate international).

The Laing Family Trusts are a group of four grant-making trusts which provide funding for a wide range of charities engaged in promoting Christian faith and values and in the relief of poverty both in the UK and overseas.

The Grants Manager role will be a crucial support to these developments.

The Grants and Trusts Manager will play a vital role in growing income from Charitable Trusts, Foundations, and Statutory funding by identifying new funding opportunities, developing compelling, high-quality funding applications, and delivering excellent stewardship. This role will support Lakeland Arts’ artistic, heritage, learning, and engagement programmes across our sites in the Lake District including Blackwell – the Arts & Crafts house, Abbot Hall art gallery, and Windermere Jetty Museum. You will collaborate with colleagues to develop strong, place-based cases for support aligned with the charity’s strategic priorities. Key Responsibilities Trusts, Foundations & Statutory Fundraising • Identify, research, and qualify funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies – including Arts Council England - to support the conservation of our artistic, heritage, learning, and engagement activity. • Lead on writing and submitting high-quality funding applications, securing both unrestricted income and project-specific funding aligned with Lakeland Arts’ strategy. • Develop compelling proposals that clearly articulate the significance of our extensive collections, the benefit of public access to these and the value of our heritage, and community impact, using evaluation data, audience insight, and partnership testimonials. • Maintain ownership of a proactive and balanced funding pipeline, ensuring prospects are thoughtfully approached and progressed through the fundraising cycle. Stewardship, Reporting & Relationship Management • Steward a balanced portfolio of funders, building strong, long-term relationships through regular communication and engagement opportunities (including site visits where appropriate), while complying with funding agreements. • Maintain a clear calendar of applications, reports, renewals, and deadlines, ensuring all funder requirements are met to a high standard and on time. • Produce clear, engaging funder reports that demonstrate impact, successful financial management, and agreed outcomes. Internal Collaboration & Funding Priorities • Work collaboratively with colleagues across curatorial, participation & learning, conservation workshop, visitor experience, finance, and leadership teams to shape strong, well-informed funding bids. • Proactively gather information to ensure funding proposals reflect current and emerging organisational priorities. • Contribute to a positive, collaborative culture that values shared learning and cross-departmental working. Data, Systems & Performance Management • Use CRM systems to accurately record fundraising activity, funder communications, deadlines, and outcomes. • Track and analyse fundraising performance against income targets and KPIs, contributing to internal reporting, forecasting, and strategy reviews. • Ensure compliance with fundraising best practice, data protection, charity law, and internal policies and procedures.
