Salary: Band B, £24k to £30k, depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

· Identify and maximise opportunities to raise funds from companies, trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies.

· Manage a portfolio of existing and prospective partners from across companies, trusts and foundations.

·  Research and maintain an on-going, sustainable pipeline of prospects including new trusts and foundations, companies and industry sectors.

· Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding.

· Build effective relationships with funders in order to secure long-term funding and support. Achieve income targets that support the delivery and fundraising goals.

· Keep accurate, relevant, timely records on our CRM and maintain regular communication with relevant teams including operations, finance, marketing and fundraising teams.

· Create inspiring reports and updates for funders that bring to life the impact of their support and demonstrate first class stewardship.

· Where appropriate, attend events to meet funders and/or promote EDT.

· Work closely with relevant teams to embed monitoring and evaluation throughout the funding process. Report on progress, results and income in a timely manner.

· Work with the Fundraising Manager with analysing trends to support the fundraising strategy.

Competencies and Attributes:

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong organisation skills - can manage workload and deadlines and proactively work to achieve timely delivery.

· Experience of securing funding from grant makers and/or companies.

· Experience of planning, preparing and writing high quality bids, funding applications and reports.

· Knowledge of managing funders' relationships. Knowledge of databases/data management, including producing reports.

· A strong team player, who can communicate effectively and engage colleagues at all levels and develop strong and productive relationships.

· Attention to detail and IT proficiency.

· Understanding of applicable legislation.

· The ability to travel to locations across the UK on occasions to meet colleagues, funders and partners.

About You 

• You will have strong experience in identifying and securing grant funding, preferably with a focus on support for disabled individuals or households. Demonstrated Skills in Training or education, particularly in a support or service context.
• You will play a pivotal role in data analysis to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Energy Services.
• You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate difficult and complex information. A strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
•  You will be skilled in research and information gathering, with a methodical approach to evaluating grant opportunities. Ability to respond positively to change while being able to work effectively with conflicting priorities.
•  You will be highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities when delivering training sessions and one-to-one support. A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
•  It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products. Excellent attention to detail when using databases and proficient in data analysis for service delivery improvement.
•  You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.

The Senior Grants Officer (Business Development) will join ClientEarth’s thriving and growing Business Development team. A key role for securing new grant income, the postholder will play a crucial part in the research and cultivation of potential new funder relationships, and will develop and submit winning funding proposals to trusts, foundations and institutional donors. 

They will manage their own portfolio of prospective funders, and undertake detailed prospect research into the foundation donor market whilst liaising with ClientEarth’s global teams across different programme areas and geographies. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, they will identify potential alignment with ClientEarth’s strategic priorities and inform decision-making in relation to funding opportunities. 

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Alex Wright. A fundraiser for over 12 years, Alex previously worked for a range of national music charities and is a trustee of two arts education charities. As part of the Business Development Team at ClientEarth, he manages the cultivation of new relationships with trusts and foundations in the US and securing new grant income. Alex joined ClientEarth in 2024 and is based in our London office.

Main Duties

• Prospect research and pipeline development - Proactively undertake research to identify, qualify and prioritise new funding prospects/ opportunities to support the build of a pipeline of high quality leads to guide future fundraising efforts; 
• Business Development and Income generation  - Draft clear and compelling written fundraising materials including cases for support, funding proposals, and concept notes;
• Systems and processes - Provide timely and accurate information to the Business Development Manager on funding opportunities in their portfolio and progress with workplan, as requested, to enable accurate monitoring and reporting to the Head of Business Development;
• Understanding of ClientEarth’s programmes and funding needs 

Role requirements

• Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English 
• Experience of working in a fundraising or business development role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity; 
• Experience of drafting compelling and successful proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions and securing multi-year grants, ideally at the six-figure level and above; 
• Experience of supporting the relationship development process with a new donor, from prospect research through to ask.
• Strong project management skills to lead the proposal development process to meet funder deadlines, including stakeholder management;

ROLE SUMMARY
The Global Grants and Engagement Manager is responsible for managing the Grants Programme of ProVeg International and leading the activities and staff within the ProVeg International Grants team. You will ensure the global grantmaking of ProVeg International aligns with its mission and goals, while also engaging with key players in the global plant-based movement, and raising funds for the Grants programme and other movement-building activities.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Grants Programme :

• Team-lead for ProVeg Grants team, including direct line management of Grants Programme Manager.

• Oversee quarterly grantmaking process, including reviewing and evaluating proposals, and providing recommendations aligned with ProVeg International’s grantmaking criteria.

• Ensure that all grantmaking is aligned and approved by all decision makers, including CEO, funder network, and Board Members. 

• Oversee the team to ensure that all grants admin is fulfilled, including due diligence, and payment processing aligned with US regulations; accurately tracked grant records; queries are responded to timely, etc.

• Oversee and optimise grantmaking process infrastructure, and regularly implement improvements as needed.

• Oversee and optimise further capacity building initiatives developed for global grantee network

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Research and identify potential grant opportunities from foundations, donors, and other sources aligned with ProVeg's mission.

• Collaborate with internal teams to develop engagement strategies for stakeholders including donors, grantees, and supporters.

• Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential donors, foundations, and funding organisations to cultivate support for ProVeg's programmes and initiatives.

• Represent ProVeg at meetings, conferences, and events to promote our mission and establish strategic partnerships.

• Develop and oversee strategies to engage with individuals and organisations through digital platforms, including social media, email campaigns, and virtual events.

Strategic Development:

• Continue to develop the Strategy of ProVeg Grants Programme in alignment with ProVeg International’s global strategy and the wider plant-based advocacy/food system transformation movement.

• Ensure alignment, communication and collaboration across ProVeg International’s wider network and global initiatives.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Track and evaluate grant programme’s performance against established goals and objectives, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

• Prepare timely and accurate reports for funders, highlighting project achievements, impact, and financial accountability.

• Monitor Grants Programme budgets, expenditures, and timelines to ensure effective utilisation of funds and compliance with funder requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in grantmaking and donor relations in the nonprofit sector is a must.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as nonprofit management, international development, communications, or related field). Master's degree preferred.

• Highly organised and able to translate complex ideas into tangible and actionable tasks.

• Proven track record of successfully securing grants from diverse funding sources.

• Strong communication skills, including exceptional writing and editing abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders.

• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Experience working with databases and grant management software (HubSpot).

About the role

This role is responsible for managing and developing the charity’s portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, securing significant gifts and growing the long-term potential of this portfolio (target for 2024 is £378,000). There are no direct reports, however the successful candidate will be expected to work closely with Senior Management Teams, other departments and stakeholders to build and develop cases for support to help fund our much-needed work.

The successful candidate will utilise their expert writing skills to shape those cases for support into compelling, high-quality proposals and reports.

Being able to build relationships with a wide range of audiences including funders is key. Inspiring them to support kidney patients across the UK and engage with the kidney community, enabling them to tell their stories and better communicate how larger Trust grants can make a real difference for people with chronic kidney disease.

A dynamic, self-motivated, ambitious and pro-active fundraiser is required for this role, demonstrating enthusiasm for the projects and services we are seeking funds to support.

About you

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience and a proven track record of successful income generation and delivering against targets.

You will have demonstratable experience in researching potential Trust funders, submitting compelling proposals, securing funding and project managing successful bids through to completion of the grant award.

You will also have a background in report writing and demonstrating grant impact whilst being able to build relationships with funders, individual/major donors and senior stakeholders.

Experience of providing excellent supporter care, building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with funders is a must for this role.

Key responsibilities
Research and process management
• Work closely with our Director of Patient Support Services (Patient Grants, Hospital Grants, Advocacy and Counselling) to fully understand our work, and with our Director of Finance to fully understand the costs of delivering our work
• Build strong cases for support, ensuring that you have all the information needed to create compelling proposals and reports for high and mid-value funders
• Research and identify prospective Trusts and Foundations and other grant giving bodies
• Grow and maintain a strong Trust funding pipeline, creating new Trust prospects for our priority funding areas
• Develop our long-term Trusts and Foundations strategy, and agree ongoing budgets and targets for this income stream
• Maintain accurate records including tracking and analysing opportunities, results, and outcomes

Fundraising
• Identify and manage a pipeline of high-value prospects and opportunities which have the potential of delivering five and six figure grants
• Work with colleagues across Kidney Care UK to develop and submit high-value and high-quality Trust and Foundation bids for a range short, medium and long term projects
• Develop relationships with the Senior Management Team and other key stakeholders across the charity maximising every opportunity for cultivation and development
• Plan and organise opportunities for funders to view Kidney Care UK’s work first-hand, ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed and met.

Reporting
• Compile comprehensive and compelling progress reports to feed back to grant makers in a timely fashion and incentivise continued support
• Alongside the Director of Finance prepare accurate budgets detailing spending of specific grants
• Draw down on any multi-year grants as outlined in our annual budget
• Provide briefing notes and income pipeline on donor activities and potential funding opportunities.

The role is essential to delivering the charities income targets for Trusts and Foundations and developing long term relationships. In addition, the post holder will support the Head of Income Generation with approaching, reporting, and maintaining Trust and Foundation relationships for major appeals.

he Fundraising Officer will work as part of the Fundraising team and focus on delivering income targets from trusts and foundations. The role is responsible for growing LDCT’s trust and foundation income by increasing the amount and longevity of funding from current supporters, as well as building a portfolio of new trusts and foundations through research, maintaining a pipeline of prospects, updating the Funding Matrix and making successful applications. Building good relationships with new funders including regular reporting, as well as good stewardship of existing funders, is an important part of the role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Delivering on fundraising priorities and targets for trusts and foundations income, including our current and future major appeals.
2. Researching, identifying, and prioritising appropriate trusts and foundations to maintain and convert a pipeline of new, prospective trusts and foundations.
3. Working with colleagues across the organisation to help shape projects for funding and creating strong Cases for Support to ensure effective applications.
4. Writing and submitting high quality targeted funding applications.
5. Maintaining an effective stewardship programme for trusts and foundations including appropriate accurate records, ensuring the fundraising e-Tapestry database is kept up-todate and that fundraising income is processed efficiently with timely thank you letters and acknowledgements.
6. Managing relationships with existing and new funders to encourage maximum funding, multi-year funding awards and repeat funding.
7. Monitoring outcomes, updating the Funding Matrix and producing timely reports and information as required externally by funders and internally for Management reporting.
8. Promoting the support of funders through press releases and social media posts.
9. Adhering to standards of fundraising best practise as set out in the Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practise and ensuring all activities comply with relevant Data Protection obligations and any other legislation

About Us:

On the Edge (OtE) is a London-based charity on a mission to emotionally reconnect people with nature through smart, entertaining, social-media-based storytelling. We are especially interested in reaching young people who do not engage with traditional nature content. By fostering a reconnection with the natural world, our stories aim to create advocates for its protection and restoration. On the Edge is also a science-based, grant-giving organisation that funds conservation projects around the world.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a programmes officer or manager with at least 1 years’ experience in conservation grant making. This role will facilitate the management of all conservation and storytelling grants awarded, as well as managing relationships, grant proposal development, budgets and impact measuring. This role will provide some opportunity to travel as part of our capacity building training programmes.

This is an exciting time for OtE as we have just launched a new grant approach. Our in-house programme will be the first of its kind and will rapidly increase conservation attention towards EDGE species and zones. The programmes officer/manager will play a key role in the development and expansion of this grant approach.

Responsibilities:

• Contributes to the development and implementation of the grant programme’s strategy

• Supports the development and management of our grant portfolio, including researching new granting opportunities in line with the strategic directions (especially grassroots and national level actors), scoping and developing proposals with prospective grantees.

• Supports grantees through our funding model which may include coordinated activities with grantees and capacity building, developing systems for and overseeing grantee reporting, and conducts the monitoring and evaluation of grants against our impact framework, which may include site visits.

• Contributes to the setting of program budgets, allocation of funds, and supports the COO in financial reporting.

• Represents OtE in a variety of settings, including among peer groups and at public events.

• Contributes to supporting activities, relationships and networking with the conservation and philanthropic sectors, developing trust and collaboration and identifying aligned goals, helping to shape and align priorities in the grant-making sector.

• Keeps up to date with mapping and assessment of NGO impacts and donor grant-making in our target areas to ensure our grant-making adds value, including identifying barriers to success and gaps in the field or funding.

Qualifications and Experience required

• A university degree in a field relevant to conservation or science. A post-graduate degree would be an asset but is not essential.

• At least 1 years in of one or more of the following: biodiversity conservation, grant-making and the philanthropic sector, conservation communications/education.

• Experience in designing, leading and implementing successful projects with partners

• Experience in planning, strategy development and delivery would be an advantage

• Experience of budgetary and financial management is essential.

• Excellent research, analytical and writing skills, including in risk assessment, evaluation of potential projects and organisational success.

• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, networking skills, project and people management experience and able to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures

• Strong computer skills

• Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of other languages is an asset

• Highly organised and able to develop organisational systems as and when needed, able to track and work to multiple deadlines

Trust and Foundations Officer

We would prefer this role to be hybrid and applicants to be based within commuting distance to our Head Office at Baynards Green in Oxfordshire.

The Child Brain Injury Trust was originally set up by a group of medical professionals. The organisation has evolved over the years and is now the leading UK charity supporting families and professionals affected by childhood acquired brain injury. Working in consultation and collaboration with families and professionals, the charity aims to ensure families can access the support they need, when they need it and to ensure they have the best possible chance of reaching their potential.

Are you a passionate, highly motivated, and organised individual? Do you have brilliant application and report writing skills and are able to build effective relationships with donors? If you are, we are seeking a Trusts & Foundations Officer to be an integral part of the Trusts and Foundations team where you will be responsible for submitting applications to Trusts & Foundations for our services in the UK.

You will be working to deliver our ambitious targets for trust and foundations income for 2024/25 and beyond. The post-holder will help to research and explore new avenues for funding and build a strong pipeline of new donors who have the potential to support the charity. You will be building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders at trusts and foundations and preparing and delivering targeted funding applications to those organisations. You will be able to build upon and develop a compelling case for support for both the services we offer as a whole and for specific projects that reflect our work and values.

Ideally you will be looking to develop your skills with the aim of moving into a management role within the department within the next 2 – 3 years, so this role is to be viewed as a development opportunity.

StandOut is a growing charity, entirely funded by charitable donations. As Fundraising Officer (Trusts) you will be working alongside the Fundraising and Development Manager to ensure we have the necessary funding needed to navigate the next stage of our development, consisting of an ambitious strategy and plan for growth over the next two years.

You will be self-motivated and proactive as you support the development of our approach to fundraising through trusts and foundations. You will identify new opportunities, write compelling proposals and drive ongoing engagement to increase our income.

Our aim is to reach a sustainable income of c. £1 million within the next three years, enabling our coaching team to work with more participants preparing for release, empowering them to realise their potential. Approximately 70% of our income is from trusts and foundations and we anticipate this will continue for the foreseeable future. We have a strong base of funders from which to work, and this role is intended to build on those relationships and develop new ones. This will ensure we have long term, sustainable funding for the future.

Role: Programme Officer

Reporting to: Programmes and Partner Manager

Contract Type: Full time, permanent (part-time candidates will be considered, minimum 4 days per week) 

Number of days: 5 days a week (will consider flexible working hours).

Location: Hybrid, minimum 2-days per week in London office (applicants must already be eligible to work in the UK). Laptop provided for home working.

Salary: £29,000 (plus benefits) FTE (dependent on relevant skills and experience).

Annual leave: 25 days plus public holidays, with an additional 2 days for volunteer work.

Your Impact / Specific responsibilities will include the following:

• Manage grantee partner relationships, including building trust and openness, identifying capacity needs, administrating grants, monitoring progress and fulfilling reporting requirements.

• Provide administrative support across the Programmes Team with grant management e.g. preparing of grant paperwork, reviewing partner reports and checklists (proposals), monitoring pipelines.

• Undertake research in focal areas for the Programmes Team, such as identifying intervention points and opportunities to make a difference in conservation.

• Contribute to communication products, including donor reports and applications, to support Synchronicity Earth’s fundraising and philanthropic goals.

• Produce and contribute to board papers and discussions.

• Update and undertake due diligence.

• Managing and maintaining partner database, including data entry, preparing reports and basis analysis. 

• Contribute to the development of Synchronicity Earth’s processes and systems around partnermanagementand due diligence.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.

• Experience (especially lived experience) in Asia, South America, Africa or the Pacific

• Written and spoken Spanish and/or Portuguese.

• Willingness to undertake occasional travel both within the UK and overseas.
