About the Role 

Reporting to the Senior Communications & Engagement Manager as part of a highly functioning and creative team, this vital role will work across all media and channels to raise the profile of USPG and its partners and their work: 

• Oversee the day-to-day running of our website and social media channels. 

• Liaise with colleagues and partners to gather information and use it to create engaging collateral which informs, inspires, and sometimes challenges.

About You  

You are an organised and digitally aware communications professional. You can take complex subjects and communicate about them in simple and effective ways that speak to specific audiences. You understand the importance of reporting on website and social media performance to understand USPG’s audience and to adjust and improve. You are comfortable working in a small and creative team and are confident speaking to the wider organisation. You can juggle numerous projects and deadlines at one time.

You will demonstrate considerable cross-cultural awareness and an ability to communicate in a way that is sensitive and appropriate. You demonstrate an aptitude for collaborative teamwork and the ability to work independently on your initiative. It is expected that the postholder will be inspired by the work of USPG and in agreement with its Christian ethos and that they will be comfortable writing in a way which reflects this.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Grants Manager to deliver our evolving grants and capacity building provision to the youth sector; bringing together our work to ensure a streamlined offer

• Support the grant making process including communications and outreach; application, selection, awarding, distribution, monitoring and evaluation working with the relevant departments.

• Maintain and develop grant management processes through our grant management system, Microsoft Dynamics, and working in partnership with colleagues from across the organisation

• Develop and maintain processes for creating application forms on our Grant Management System, informing applicants of decisions and tracking grant disbursements.

• Manage applications for funding through our grant management system and provide direct technical support to applicants.

• Provide light touch account management to grantees on specified programmes, as directed by the Grant Manager, responding to queries in a timely manner and connecting them into opportunities as appropriate.

• Work to distribute our grant funding to a diversity of organisations across the UK, ensuring it is delivered to improve impact and engages diverse audiences

• Lead on delivering grant funding panels and leasing with key stakeholders such as external assessors, and young assessors

• Maintain our grants management system in line with GDPR and manage data

• Working with Impact colleagues to manage data collection and monitoring processes and ensure activities achieve intended outputs and outcomes on time and to budget

• Establish and build strong relationships with awarded organizations and manage the distribution of funding to grantees and that they complete required monitoring and reporting

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Promoting our work and building relationships with institutional donors

Supporting the work of the Head of Institutional Relations, you will have sound knowledge of the donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio and contribute proactively to influencing their funding strategies and priorities. Duties include:

· Maintain a good understanding of HI’s programmes, strategy and approach and communicate this externally.

· Identify and build relationships with a portfolio of large public and private institutional donors and their key suppliers (e.g. INGOs and for-profit development companies), mobilising colleagues from UK and across the global organisation as required.

· Work with country programmes to develop country-level action plans to engage with local representatives of UK donors and partners, in order to strengthen in-country relationships, influence donors’ country-level plans and access in-country funding opportunities. This will also involve supporting the development of multi-year operational plans and advise on the funding possibilities offered by UK institutional donors.

Generate and manage institutional funding from UK donors

You will follow and champion HI’s internal institutional funding procedures to identify and analyse funding opportunities from UK sources, contribute to project submissions, and carry out grant management duties. You will:

· Monitor, identify, analyse and communicate all relevant funding opportunities from donors in your portfolio (including development and humanitarian grant opportunities and commercial contracts). This will involve facilitating internal go/no go decision-making for new opportunities and advising and supporting programme colleagues on positioning and consortium-building when relevant.

· Lead the review and analysis of the requirements in new funding agreements and contracts, advise internal stakeholders on compliance and ensure appropriate contract negotiation and due diligence processes are followed.

· Implement internal procedures for contract/grant management, including information management, and support the submission of reporting and payment requests according to donor requirements.

Improve our track record for UK institutional funding

You will be responsible for increasing internal understanding of donors and funding mechanisms in your portfolio, particularly FCDO, Start Network, Australian DFAT and Irish Aid, supporting high quality strategic submissions and donor compliance. You will:

· Create internal communications, train and brief finance, programme and technical staff (including country programmes) on the donors in your portfolio, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to comply with donor rules, understand donor priorities and focus areas, and maximise the potential for funding.

· Support proposal development, advising on donor requirements, expectations and preferences.

· Build strong relationships and internal links with technical and programme teams and contribute to internal working groups on issues related to institutional funding.

Role Purpose

Campaigning

• Participate in campaigning and research activities as required
• Participate in and coordinate logistics and follow up for project meetings, workshops or events. Coordinate with other members of the team to deliver campaign activities

Partnership

Donor Management

• Liaise with internal teams and project partners to identify fundraising opportunities, gather information and ensure smooth communication, escalating issues where needed.

• Assist with preparation of contracts for and manage sub-grants for partners and/or consultants, in particular ensuring donor and financial compliance and best practice grant management

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Ensure campaign materials, including video files, stills and reports, are organised and accessible through EIA’s information management systems

• Contribute to MEL framework implementation, organisation-wide protocols, and facilitate quarterly reviews

Person Specification

• Proven experience maintaining project budgets, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring donor compliance in a non-profit or international development context.
• Experience assisting with the development of funding proposals, and liaise with donors.
• Experience contributing to strategic planning processes and coordinating multi-stakeholder campaign activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, Smartsheet)
• Experience managing external partners and contractors, including contracts, deliverables, and sub-grant compliance
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with experience building effective relationships across diverse teams, partners and donors
• Strong knowledge or interest in the campaign subject

Background

Middlesex Tennis is a registered charity that takes responsibility for the administration and development of tennis throughout the county, from those just thinking of taking up the game to tournament players of all levels. The County Association affiliates with the LTA and upholds their rules and regulations. Role

The Finance Officer will support the Finance Lead and professional staff by providing accurate and timely transactional finance services, producing reports, processing payments, maintaining financial records, and assisting with reconciliations.

Specific Responsibilities 

Accounts Payable

• Set up and manage a finance/accounts inbox prioritising workloads effectively.
• Process and pay supplier invoices, grants, and other expenditure, ensuring correct authorisation from internal teams and accurate coding and entry into the accounting system (Xero).
• Process a high volume of invoices, including matching and reconciling discrepancies.
• Work with internal teams to ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Review, gain approval and process employee/trustee expenses.

Accounts Receivable

• Manage incoming payments and online payment platforms.
• Manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of debts.
• Prepare and send invoices, track overdue accounts, and follow up on payments.
• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions.

Reconciliations, VAT and Compliance Support

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and support reconciliation of other balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare quarterly VAT returns and maintain supporting information.
• Ensure transactions are recorded correctly for VAT purposes.
• Ensure financial procedures are followed.
• Maintain and provide supporting documentation for an independent examination.

Reporting Support

• Prepare quarterly income and expenditure reports.
• Assist in preparing annual accounts and supporting schedules.
• Support budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
• Prepare reports for LTA as required.
• Prepare adhoc reports as required.

Payroll Administration

• Assist the Finance Lead in payroll administration when required.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The role will report to the Head of Marketing and Fundraising and will be responsible for developing and implementing the fundraising strategy, driving forward all aspects of fundraising, including building corporate charity of the year partnerships, individual giving, major donors,
trusts and foundations, legacies and community fundraising.

The successful candidate will be a core member of the Central Team, working closely with the Marketing Team to develop and deliver income for the charity.

 
This role will have budgetary responsibility to achieving a revenue target in financial year 26/27 of £1.5 million, whilst building a sustainable income stream for the long-term with Yr on Yr growth. Key priorities include increasing the Individual Giving and Regular Giving donor database, donor and fundraiser stewardship, organising fundraising events, and securing grants and sponsorships.
