Main Purpose and Scope of the Role
This programme is part of a consortium bid via the NCS Community Grant scheme and will run from September 2023 until the end of March 2025. NCS is a government-funded initiative that brings together schools, community organisations, businesses and individuals to build a stronger and more cohesive society.
This role will work independently to deliver the Grow Your Ambition programme for young people aged 16/17 years across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. The programme will be delivered in partnership with local schools, during term time, and includes three experiences; Grow Your Life Skills, Grow Your Employability and Grow Your Community. This role is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2025.
Each young person engaged in the programme must participate in all three experiences, totalling 48 hours. Key phases of each experience include preparation, session and curriculum planning, liaising with schools and external partners and actual programme delivery.
Each programme consists of:
Grow your Life Skills
· A two day, one night, residential experience at our outdoor education centre, Caldecotte Xperience in Milton Keynes.
· Two outdoor adventurous activities on site that focus on teambuilding, communication and problem solving.
· Delivery of Life Skills sessions such as a cooking challenge, money skills, First Aid, mental resilience and more
· Total 24 hours
Grow Your Employability
· Two days based in school, delivered in line with the school day
· Delivery of a variety of Employability sessions such as personal presentation, confident speaking, CV writing and interview skills
· Total 12 hours
Grow Your Community
· Two days based in school, delivered in line with the school day
· One day delivery of a variety of sessions based on social action and community engagement
· One day volunteering with a local charity

Duties and Key Responsibilities
· Contact and recruit schools from across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes to sign up to the programme
· Organise delivery dates and programme timetables for their students within the contractual requirements of the programme
· Plan each programme and create a timetable of activities for students to follow
· Deliver sessions to groups of students as per each experience
· Stay overnight for the Grow Your Life Skills residential
- Work with local community organisations to host volunteering days
· Work within a set budget to deliver the programme, ensuring each experience is delivered to a high standard

PATA is the largest voluntary sector provider of support to the Early Years and Play (Out of School) sector in Gloucestershire. We are a Charity based in Gloucester with around 170 member settings and manage five of our own Early Years settings (PATA Managed Groups (PMGs)). At its heart, PATA is a people-based organisation and you will be joining a strong and committed team, both in the Head Office and the PMGs. Shooting Star Children’s Hospices
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and Southwest London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
At the heart of the hospice are our dedicated clinical staffs. Their exceptional commitment and professionalism is commented on by so many of the supported children and their families.
It costs £10.5 million a year to maintain our current level of care. Only 30% of that income comes from government funding via the NHS or local authorities, so we rely on our supporters’ generosity to keep the service running. Retail and Volunteers Team: Our Retail and Volunteers Team manages our charity shops and volunteer programs, which play a crucial role in supporting our mission. They recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to staff our shops and assist with various tasks, such as sorting donations and serving customers. Additionally, they oversee the operations of our retail outlets, ensuring that they are efficiently run to generate income for our hospices.
Part 1: Job Profile
a) Main purpose of job
In the absence of the manager or assistant managers to lead a team of volunteers to maximise sales, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that the shop premises and assets are maintained to a high standard, according to legal requirements and Shooting Star Children’s Hospices (SSCH) policies and procedures.
Decision Making Authority
The post holder will be required to make decisions on the quality, and suitability of donations before they are placed on sale. Depending on the length of the cover period they may be required to dress the windows. (They will follow price guidelines and existing display layout throughout the shop.)
The post holder will work with eCommerce Manager to decide if items would be suitable for selling at a higher price on eBay or through a promotional event and set these aside for the manager of the shop to deal with on their return.
The post holder will support with rostering of the team of volunteers where necessary and delegation of duties and jobs.

What are we looking for?
Sue Lambert Trust are looking for a resilient and experienced counsellor ready to take on the challenge of a leadership and management role within an organisation passionate about offering a kind, safe and supportive therapeutic service to survivors of sexual abuse and violence. In this role you would be responsible for the professional development of our team of counsellors as well as supporting both trainee and experienced counsellors in their work with us.
Background Information:
Sue Lambert Trust provides kind, safe, supportive help for people who have experienced sexual or domestic abuse at some point in their lives.
We provide free, specialist support that enables people to recover, heal and build resilience to face the future. Our support is organized around a three-phased trauma informed approach.
Phase One Groundwork is designed to support clients with practical issues as well as providing stabilisation in preparation for counselling. Around 200 clients per year access this service.
Phase Two Counselling is the core provision and is delivered by 50+ trained counsellor volunteers working with around 300 clients weekly.
Phase Three aims to build resilience and includes interventions such as self-help groups.
We are funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioners Office, Ministry of Justice, National Lottery and several local and national Trusts and Foundations.
With the launch of a new strategy to guide us through to 2026 it is an opportune time to be joining an organization that is ambitious in its support for its clients.
Job Title:Counselling Support and Development Manager
Responsible to: Head of Counselling
Job purpose:
- To ensure that all counsellors and staff are provided with the skills and knowledge to deliver and develop Sue Lambert Trust services.
- To support the Head of Counselling to manage a team of staff and counsellors in delivering effective, safe and quality counselling and other appropriate therapeutic services.
- To support the Head of Counselling in the development of clinical services, and work collaboratively with the Service Support and Development Manager to implement Trauma Informed Practices (TIP)
- To support the Head of Counselling in creating a safeguarding culture throughout the organisation.
Main responsibilities:
Operational Delivery
1. To develop and lead a needs-based plan for the learning and development of the counselling team aligned with Sue Lambert Trust strategy.
2. To organise and manage trainee counsellor placements, working in partnership with counsellor training providers to support and develop trainees in their ongoing training.
3. To act as the Senior Counselling Lead for all trainee counsellors, undertaking case management monthly
4. To work collaboratively to develop and support the implementation of consistent working practices across our sites with a focus on our Great Yarmouth office.
5. To lead on the development and training of a dedicated team of EMDR practitioners.
6. To act as one of the designated safeguarding leads within the organisation, providing support to Senior Counselling Leads and counsellors
7. To deputise for the Head of Counselling as and when required
Service Delivery
1. To provide one to one counselling and other therapeutic services as appropriate in line with the policies and requirements of the organisation
2. To ensure a skilled clinical team can deliver initial assessments, review and top-up calls, effective allocations, and any other services as directed.
3. To line manage the Senior Counselling Leads based in Great Yarmouth
4. To lead on best practice in clinical service delivery as outlined by BACP guidelines and statutory and regulatory requirements throughout the organisation.
5. To liaise where necessary and appropriate with external supervisors to support counsellors and clients.
Service Development
1. To ensure the clinical team collect client outcome measures and experience of service feedback to inform the ongoing development of the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:
The Communities Coordinator will support community groups to campaign for clean rivers at a local level. By facilitating grass roots action you’ll be galvanising a strong and powerful network of community activists that have the power to create change both locally and nationally. You’ll be responsible for taking River Action’s national campaign strategy to a local level. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and the wider team to develop a Community Toolkit (including advice for activists, and guidance and services for communications, fundraising, legal support and citizen science projects) to support communities as well as provide strategic support to empower community activists to campaign for clean rivers. You’ll work closely with the Campaigns Manager and wider team to amplify the stories of those taking action at a local level and connect campaign groups to the wider national agenda. You’ll be working collaboratively with the River Action team to devise, develop and deliver our strategy ensuring our programme of community engagement is equitable, diverse and inclusive. You’ll be working closely with other organisations to ensure our community support compliments the work of others and meets the needs of community groups we work with.
Main Duties
