We have an exciting opportunity for a Media and Communications Officer to join our team at Endometriosis UK and help us make a real difference for the 1.5 million in the UK with the disease. This is a crucial, busy and varied role working closely with the Head of Communications and Campaigns to raise awareness and increase the visibility of endometriosis and Endometriosis UK. You will be working as part of a small but ambitious communications and campaigns team with a strong commitment to raising awareness and achieving real change to help those living with endometriosis and menstrual health conditions.

The role will be ideal for a proactive, forward-thinking, and highly organised communications professional who is comfortable with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. The postholders priorities will range from being the first point of contact for media enquiries to drafting media statements to respond to Government announcements that could impact the lives of those affected by endometriosis. You’ll be able to identify news stories, opportunities, and effectively pitch ideas to high profile media outlets, and have experience in working with case studies and celebrities to share their stories with the media.

At Endometriosis UK, we’re lucky to work with incredible volunteers with lived experience of endometriosis, who have important and compelling stories to tell.

You’ll be experienced or have a passion for working with case studies to bring their stories to life – and build and nurture relationships with case studies and high profile ambassadors to ensure that those with lived experience are at the heart of our communications.

You’ll be a born storyteller with excellent project coordination skills; able to meet tight deadlines and often last-minute media requests.

We are looking for someone who brings fresh ideas to the table, and will be able to work with teams across the organisation to support the organisations communications outputs – this could include supporting with written materials and publications, drafting copy for the website, or producing compelling newsletter content. 

Your work will play a crucial role in supporting the endometriosis community and delivering on our ambitious 2025 -2030 strategy.

DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic communications 

• Lead the development, implementation, and management of MAP’s strategic communications and support public engagement initiatives. 

• Oversee the organisation’s language and messaging frameworks, including the maintenance of the language guide and key messaging documents to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with MAP’s mission and communications objectives. 

• Develop, implement and manage integrated, cross channel communications plans and strategies.

• Bring a prospector’s mindset, spotting openings, anticipating debate moments and positioning MAP ahead of the curve rather than reacting to events. 

• Support the organisation in contributing to crisis communications planning and responding to mitigate reputational risks. 

Media management  

• Lead on the development and delivery of high-impact content to raise MAP’s profile and influence, and to drive public and supporter engagement. 

• Actively seek out and develop opportunities for MAP to shape public, political and sector debates, including through opinion pieces, broadcast opportunities, podcasts, industry and specialist media, conferences and high-level events. 

• Manage MAP’s Senior Media and Communications Officer, fostering professional growth, confidence and judgement. Conduct regular one to ones, appraisals, and support their work.

• Manage the production, review and sign off of all media materials including press releases, op-eds, letters to the editor, media updates, and other external communications content where necessary. Ensure efficient delegation where required. 

• Lead media engagement, including briefing spokespeople and coordinating MAP’s responses to media inquiries, ensuring delegation where required.

• Provide high-quality briefing, messaging development, and media preparation for senior staff engaging externally. 

• Maintain and build strong, trusted relationships with journalists and editors across UK and international media. 

• Alert MAP’s staff to imminent news and current affairs stories, and recommend communications actions or restraint as appropriate. 

Advocacy and campaigns communications 

• Develop strategic communications plans for MAP’s advocacy and campaigning initiatives (such as, party conferences, parliamentary and UN engagement), identifying media opportunities, and ensuring key messaging is aligned with advocacy objectives and reaches targeted audiences. 

• Work closely with MAP’s Advocacy and Campaigns Team to amplify campaign impact through coordinated media and supporter-facing communications. 

• Strengthen MAP’s role in advocacy coalitions by leading collaborative media and communications outputs with partners. 

• Help ensure that communities MAP supports have a voice in campaigns, that their perspectives shape messaging and that communications do not expose staff, partners or communities to undue risk. 

• Advise on the strategic communication opportunities to profile and disseminate policy and research outputs.

Experience and knowledge 

• Substantial, relevant and recent experience of communications at a national and/or international level within humanitarian, healthcare or human rights organisations.

The Reconciling Leaders Network (RLN) has a vision for the church to be a reconciling presence in conflict and communities, with a purpose to mobilise a generation of reconcilers, pursuing a just and flourishing world. The Head of Communications and Partnerships (for Reconciling Leaders Network) will lead RLN's communications, marketing, and digital engagement strategy, ensuring our message is clear, compelling, and consistent across all channels, extending the reach and engagement of Difference. This role is central to shaping how RLN and Difference are experienced by audiences in the UK and globally.

The successful candidate will bring understanding of the reconciliation and peacebuilding sector, as well as the geo-political and church contexts in which RLN operates. Job Profile

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will lead on the recruitment, retention, and value growth of Afghanaid’s supporter base by directing and implementing communications, fundraising and engagement strategies, aligned with broader organisation goals. Designing and managing a tight budget, you will direct the Communication and Giving unit to maximise their success.

You will lead on communications for Afghanaid, overseeing print, digital, and paid marketing activities and the growth of communications channels. You will manage all public relations including crisis communications, as well as the growth of strategic media placements and high profile relationships. You will drive the success of organisational impact storytelling and communications for both internal and external stakeholders. PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will be an experienced and dynamic communicator with significant demonstrable experience in fundraising and/or communications at a senior level, coupled with an awareness and up to date knowledge and experience of the tools that would maximise the success of our communications and fundraising activities. In addition, you will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. Education/ Training

Master’s Degree in communications, marketing, public fundraising or another relevant field (or at least 5-years’ experience).

Key Responsibilities

Impact Measurement

o Design and oversee frameworks for monitoring and evaluating strategic outcomes.

o Prepare and present impact reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.

o Support the wider staff team in gathering data to inform and underpin the Impact Framework.

o Build and maintain partnerships with RankNet members, other funders, government, and community organisations.

o Represent the Foundation at local, regional, and national events that focus on place-based work. 

Community Engagement

o Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships with RankNet members, partners, and funders.

Strategic Leadership

o Contribute to organisational strategy, identify emerging trends and opportunities for social impact.

o Translate organisational strategy into clear, measurable objectives, ensuring alignment across teams and programmes.

Based in North Kensington, Dalgarno Trust is a vibrant community centre supporting local residents of all ages through health, wellbeing, education, training, and youth programmes. As the only community centre in this part of the borough, we play a vital role in bringing people together, tackling inequality, and strengthening community resilience.

As Head of Fundraising and Development, you will be a key member of our Core Team, working closely with the Chief Executive to secure and manage the resources that enable our work. You will lead on researching and writing funding bids, managing relationships with funders, and ensuring that monitoring, evaluation, and reporting requirements are met. You will also play a central role in diversifying income through donations, sponsorships, commercial activity, and use of our assets.

Alongside fundraising, you will lead our marketing, communications, and promotion, keeping our website, social media, and noticeboards up to date, and ensuring our work is clearly and effectively communicated to the wider community. The role also includes administrative and HR support, such as assisting with recruitment processes, timesheets, training coordination, and ensuring compliance with fundraising regulations and best practice.

We are looking for someone highly organised, administratively confident, and comfortable working independently, while also enjoying collaboration with colleagues, partners, and community members. Our Second Home (OSH) is the UK’s youth movement for people with refugee backgrounds. We support young people to build community, become leaders, and flourish into adulthood in the place they call home.

Each year, hundreds of young people from dozens of countries and living in London & Bristol take part in our residential programmes, leadership training and youth hubs. Our residentials are often the first step – immersive, relationship-rich spaces where young people connect, reflect and begin to see themselves as leaders. From there, many move into leadership training and take on volunteer roles within the movement.

Our work is youth-led and rooted in lived experience. We are now implementing our 2025–2028 strategy, focused on strengthening quality, embedding learning and ensuring our growth is sustainable and safe.

The Head of Programmes is a senior leadership role, reporting to the CEO and managing two senior colleagues. You will hold responsibility for the quality, coherence and safeguarding of all programme activity.

Programme Leadership & Strategy in Practice

• Lead implementation of OSH’s 2025–2028 programme strategy.
