Philanthropy will play a defining role in delivering this ambition. With plans to significantly scale income over the coming years, we are seeking a senior, commercially-minded Philanthropy Lead to drive high-value growth and deepen engagement with influential supporters across the UK.

As Philanthropy Lead, you will take ownership of a high-value donor portfolio, securing and stewarding five and six figure gifts while driving forward a donor-centric fundraising strategy.

You will operate as a trusted partner to senior leaders and influential stakeholders, leveraging networks, insight and opportunity to build a sustainable pipeline of philanthropic support.

Alongside income generation, you will play a key role in shaping how Marie Curie engages high-net-worth individuals bringing innovation, credibility and strategic thinking to a growing function.

What you’ll be doing

• Building a pipeline of new high-net-worth individuals through proactive outreach, networking and relationship building
• Owning and driving your own workload, managing your prospect pipeline and identifying new opportunities
• Initiating conversations, arranging face-to-face meetings and creating bespoke cultivation journeys
• Working closely with senior leaders and volunteers to develop and progress donor relationships
• Developing compelling propositions and confidently making five and six-figure asks
• Using creativity, curiosity and insight to spot opportunities others might miss
• Representing Marie Curie externally and helping grow our profile with influential audiences

Who we’re looking for

• Proven experience in major donor or philanthropy fundraising
• A proven record of securing significant philanthropic income, including five and six figure gifts
• The credibility and presence to engage and influence high-net-worth individuals and senior stakeholders
• Strong commercial judgement combined with a donor-centric, relationship-led approach
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling cases for support and lead high-value conversations
• Strategic thinking, resilience and the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity
• A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to contribute across a high-performing national team

You don’t need to come from a traditional charity major gifts background transferable experience from relationship-led, high-value environments is welcome.

As the Senior Philanthropy Executive, Trusts, you’ll be at the heart of our trust fundraising programme. You will build and nurture relationships with both new and existing trust and foundation supporters, and work closely with our clinical teams to bring powerful, compelling projects to life through outstanding proposals.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and growing a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, comprised of existing supporters and potential prospects in order to deliver sustainable income growth.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with Trusts and Foundations, leading cultivation and solicitation strategies to secure five-figure donations and long-term support.
• Researching and identifying new funding opportunities which align with our organisational funding priorities.
• Creating compelling, clear and high-quality funding applications and cases for support to engage and inspire prospective donors
• Delivering excellent stewardship and reporting for Trust and Foundations in your portfolio, keeping them informed and engaged with the work of the Charity and The Royal Marsden
• Planning and delivering targeted fundraising communications and mailings to groups of Trusts and Foundations, providing consistent, high-quality updates aligned to priority funding themes and organisational objectives.

About you

To be suitable for this role you will need:

• Experience identifying and researching trust and foundation funders
• Experience developing relationships with funders
• Experience creating exceptional written materials to engage prospective and current donors
• Experience securing and stewarding five-figure+ donations from Trusts and Foundations
• An interest in cancer and health issues

The Programme Officer will play an integral role in the Impact team within the broader Directorate of Impact and External Affairs. This is a pivotal time for Fight for Sight as we begin to implement our Impact Framework enabling us to communicate the impact of our extensive portfolio of current and past funded research projects to our internal and external audiences.

The role is diverse and varied, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to build their exposure to a complement of grant management activities across our research and social change funding programmes. They will be instrumental in the delivery of our grant funding processes, will work closely with our Grant Assessment Panels and key partners to ensure we achieve the exciting ambitions laid out in our Research Strategy. They will also be expected to track contribute to capturing the Impact of our funding programmes.

• Salary: £28,000 - 30,000 FTE pro rata / £22,400–£24,000 PTE actual (dependent on skills and experience)
• Working hours and contract: 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE) over four days, Permanent

You’ll work closely with law enforcement and community partners to design and deliver meaningful crime‑prevention campaigns, while also coordinating cross‑border and national initiatives with organisations such as ROCUs and the NCA. You’ll empower local volunteer committees to thrive, act as a spokespeople for Crimestoppers in local and regional media, and drive funding opportunities that help expand our impact.

We’re seeking someone with strong project and budget management skills, confidence under pressure, and the ability to build strategic relationships. Experience in or significant knowledge of the voluntary sector, media campaigning, or policing practice would be an advantage.
