We are looking for a Live Well Little Hulton Development Worker who will play a central role in the development of a community-led network of trusted voices that will enable local people to access activities, services, and information in support of their emotional and physical wellbeing.
Initially, Live Well Little Hulton will use innovative and creative methods to engage with the community to establish baseline information and insights to inform the development of the network. This will include recruiting and supporting a small team of community researchers to undertake a community-wide audit.
The role of Live Well Little Hulton Development Worker is a great opportunity for an individual that has a passion for building on community strengths and assets to help establish a model that can be adapted for communities across Salford, Greater Manchester and beyond.
This post will be matrix managed by Salford CVS and CommUNITY Little Hulton. It will be based in the community and will require some evening as well as weekend working. This is a fixed-term role for two years where you will work 18.75 hours per week.
The Live Well Little Hulton Development Worker will be confident in working both as part of a team and collaborating with a wide range of community stakeholders, including residents, community groups, charities, local GP practices, Council Officers, and local businesses.

Summary:
Our client Spitalfields Crypt Trust (SCT) is an East London charity embedded in the local community, providing practical help, support and training to people affected by homelessness or suffering from addiction. As SCT’s HR and Quality Manager you will report to the CEO and work closely with the SMT and wider management team, including SCT’s Co-Production worker and external HR Consultancy. You will be responsible for leading, directing and delivering a comprehensive generalist HR service across the whole of SCT and providing the organisational lead on health, safety and wellbeing, data protection and quality improvement systems; developing and promoting best practice and taking a hands-on role as and when necessary and according to SCT’s inclusive, integrated, innovative and participatory culture. The role
We are seeking a fundraiser or an experienced account manager who relishes the excitement of exceeding income targets and developing strong relationships. You will identify opportunities to increase the value of your partnership portfolio and work closely with the Corporate Development Team to ensure the transition between new business and account management is seamless for both FareShare and our partners.
You will manage a portfolio of partners: designing and delivering tailored partnership plans and an innovative and personalised suite of partnership activity. Job Purpose

The role
FareShare’s Food Team works with the UK food industry to rescue as much surplus food as possible. Our ability to build strong and meaningful partnerships with food businesses is central to our long-term strategy and our continued ability to support charities with much needed food. FareShare have ambitious food volume targets and must remain agile and innovative to continue to access and redistribute food.
As the Programme Manager – FLEX and Food Intervention you will be central to this ongoing agility; leading and delivering important projects which improve our flexibility and offer to the food industry. This role will be primarily delivering our Food Life Extension Project (FLEX).
The FLEX project is a pioneering UK project exploring ways to manage the inconsistency of surplus food supplies and to prevent gluts of produce going to waste.
THE PROBLEM - FareShare has always faced a challenge during UK harvest periods of being offered more of a particular food than our charities can possibly use in time, farmers and growers must estimate yields and with a fluctuating climate this can often lead to surplus.
THE SOLUTION - We are taking short life foods, particularly produce, and canning, freezing, juicing and cooking them turning them into long life sources of nutrition for our charities. We aim to increase the volume of accepted produce, expanding our year-round offering to communities and create a national store of food which can be drawn upon when fresh supplies are low.
The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust have supported this initiative with a generous donation over 3 years. Our ambition is to use this funding to build long term sustainable solutions for FareShare to accept these gluts of produce to ensure year-round support for communities. The project has been running small scale trials for the first phase, and we are seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual to take this project into the next phase, delivering a significant step change in the volume of food rescued over the upcoming UK harvests.
You will work closely with Account Managers in the Food Team to ensure that projects align with wider partnership plans, whilst being understood and engaged with by all relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, for the FLEX project you will be central in our continued reporting to the Julia and Hans Rausing Trust on how their generous donation has helped save previously wasted food and supported communities.
Excellent organisational and project management skills are an essential part of this role; you will need to co-ordinate and lead several, often complex projects concurrently. You will need to ensure that all projects have clear timelines and measurables, and that any key risks are identified, communicated and mitigated. Timelines are particularly important with the fluctuating and short dated nature of the produce we seek to rescue.
We are looking for a dynamic and confident individual who can bring creativity and initiative to The Food team and project programmes to move from initial trial phase through the development of the governance and blueprint, and into embedded business as usual operations. FareShare South West (FSSW) is part of the national FareShare UK (FSUK) network of surplus food redistribution charities. We fight food poverty by tackling food waste. We source quality surplus food – from food retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers – engaging volunteers to redistribute to local charities and community groups that provide meals to vulnerable people (individuals who are homeless, unemployed, socially isolated, recovering from addictions, etc.). Our food is a vital lifeline for children and families, people on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the homeless, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, the elderly, and keyworkers.
Purpose of the role:
Our Fleet Coordinator will work with our warehouse teams and the wider FSSW team to keep the wheels turning so we can deliver much needed food to frontline organisations. They will operate across the West of England, Devon and Cornwall to support the smooth running and upkeep of our fleet of vehicles and ensure minimal disruption on our operations. This role involves coordinating the servicing, maintenance, and repairs of vehicles, administrative duties and delivering change projects to ensure the continuous improvement of our fleet management. Our small fleet currently includes 13 vans, one car, one 7.5t truck, 4 forklift trucks and multiple pump trucks, distributed between Bristol, Exeter and Plymouth. This role will be working with and alongside a diverse group of volunteers, in particular working with volunteer driving crews to provide training and support.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Fleet Coordination
- Vehicle Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs
- Liaise with external and internal contractors to arrange breakdown support, MOTs, services and repairs.
- Develop relationships with contractors to build a list of trusted companies.
- Triage and identify vehicle issues, then work with external contractors to resolve them.
- Coordinate and undertake vehicle movements between sites and garages.
- Carry out analysis of the fleet and its equipment including weekly vehicles checks and performing basic maintenance duties e.g. tyre pressures and topping up of vehicle fluids.
- Be the point of contact for external service providers such as leasing companies, insurers, fuel card companies and breakdown cover providers.
- Administrative duties
- Manage our vehicle accessories and consumables.
- Keep accurate records relating to the fleet and our drivers (repair log, vehicle checks, driving licence checks and incident forms)
- Download of tachograph data for analysis
- Manage CAZ payments.
- Administer insurance policy changes and claims involving our fleet and/or third parties.
- Gather and report on appropriate metrics to monitor the health of the fleet.
- Propose and deliver continuous improvement projects for the fleet.
- Register and onboard new drivers by delivering volunteer and staff driving assessments and agency driver inductions.
