Office base Liverpool Street/Moorgate – Commonweal operates a flexible hybrid working policy requiring staff to attend the office base at least 2 days per week, one of which is our Tuesday anchor day when all staff are in the office.
Commonweal is an independent charity, with a small core staff team of 9, overseen by a voluntary Board of Trustees, working to investigate, pilot and champion housing based solutions to social injustice. Using our charitable resources, we provide experts and partner organisations with the opportunity to trial and test new approaches designed to enhance housing equality and justice. Independently evaluating each of our projects we share our experiences, using this learning to inspire new thinking. Through the replication of what works and the lessons from what doesn’t, we influence changes in policy and practice. In addition, we commission other research identifying and spotlighting new areas of housing injustice.
We are seeking an Office Manager to lead and deliver the core administration that underpins our charity’s work. This new role brings together governance admin, property record management, and oversight of our office systems and environment.
As Office Manager, you will:
- Provide high-quality governance support to our Board of Trustees, including scheduling meetings, collating agendas, circulating board packs, and taking minutes.
- Manage the administration of our property portfolio, ensuring leases, rent review dates, compliance certificates and other legal documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Oversee the smooth running of our office, including IT and supplier contracts, health & safety compliance, and ensuring staff have the systems and equipment they need.
- Act as the first point of contact for general enquiries and provide reliable admin support to the CEO, DCEO and wider team.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Experience of managing an office in the charity or not for profit sectors
- Experience of supporting Boards or committees, including minute-taking.
- Knowledge of property/lease administration, or a willingness to developed this.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence managing suppliers and contractors, with a pro-active approach to problem solving.
- A collaborative and professional style, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

What does this role do?
As Pets and Housing Development Lead, you’ll:
- manage the continuous development of our Pets and Housing services and projects, including leading on a critical new project moving our data to Salesforce,

The outreach department supports people and dogs in crisis, such as those escaping domestic abuse or experiencing homelessness. They include Freedom, a specialist dog fostering service for people fleeing domestic abuse, and Pets and Housing projects that support people and their dogs experiencing homelessness and advocating for people to be accommodated with their pets at all stages of their housing journey.

Milton House is a 15-bed mixed-gender accommodation service in Islington, supporting adults facing multiple and complex challenges. With a small and dedicated staff team, we provide tailored casework to residents whose needs may include mental or physical health issues, substance use, histories of offending, or support with living skills and wider aspirations. About the role:
We’re excited to have launched a brand new Housing First service in Camden, and we’re looking for a passionate, skilled individual to join our team! You will be working in a unique new service that for the first time will be offering support to couples who have been rough sleeping and are to be accommodated separately in their own flats. With a three-year commission and the ability to support 30 individuals, this is your chance to be part of a fresh and impactful initiative within our organisation. You will work from a base in Kings Cross, delivering support in the community and within the homes of your clients. You will carry a case load of 5 people and will provide intensive and flexible trauma informed support that is centred around the strengths and needs of everyone. You will work closely with a wide range of external statutory agencies and specialist colleagues in the team who will include: a health worker, an IDVA, psychologist, sessional occupational health, and perpetrator support.
The service will support an equal number of women and men. The people given priority for the service are likely to have been rough sleeping for prolonged periods, have been multiply excluded from services and have co-occurring conditions. There will be a strong emphasis on safety in situations that might relate to complex abuse within relationships and externally.
About you:
- Experience working with clients who experience multi disadvantages, including building trust and positive relationships with people who have co-occurring conditions and who may be mistrustful and have a low level of engagement with services.
- A proven track record of achieving measurable outcomes with clients with complex needs.
- Awareness of the intersection between severe and multiple disadvantage and violence against women and girls (VAWG), and an understanding of how the intersection of these issues can be supported and the people involved safeguarded.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?
The role is responsible for delivering full housing management services across a portfolio of 50–100 supported accommodation units, with a focus on tenancy sustainment, legal compliance, and strong financial performance. This includes facilitating onboarding and exit processes for service users, promoting tenancy expectations early on, and embedding a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIPE) approach. Accurate and GDPR-compliant tenancy records must be maintained, with regular monitoring and reporting on tenancy issues through internal dashboards and quarterly reviews.
The position also involves driving rent and service charge collection, preventing arrears through proactive engagement, and taking recovery action where needed. The postholder will provide specialist advice on housing benefits, manage claims and appeals, and oversee invoicing and reconciliation with external agencies. Additionally, they will ensure timely repair reporting and resolution, maintain communication with residents and staff on maintenance progress, and uphold property standards to meet compliance requirements.

About The Role
St Mungo’ s Hackney Move On service provides semi-independent accommodation consisting of 39 bed spaces split between 7 shared properties to people exiting short stay/long term hostel/supported housing provisions in preparation for independent general needs accommodation. Clients accessing our services have all experienced homelessness, may be in recovery for substance or alcohol use or an addressed mental health need or are currently positively engaged with external services around any identified needs.
Our team is looking for a Housing and Lettings Worker who will play a key role in providing a welcoming, safe and supportive environment while providing housing and tenancy related management support to clients at the service. You will be responsible for the quick turn-around of bed space voids and supporting new/current clients with benefits claims, accessing relevant health care and treatment appointments and signposting to other relevant support services. As a key member of SCT’s Housing First team, you’ll provide tailored, person-centred support to people who have experienced homelessness and other traumatic events. Working with a small caseload (around six residents), you will build trusting, relationships that empower people to maintain their tenancies, improve their wellbeing, and take meaningful steps towards recovery. Through practical advice, emotional support, and strong advocacy, you’ll help break cycles of exclusion and create lasting change, on each person’s terms.

I am working with a leading Housing Provider to recruit a Contracts Manager within their Home & Community Maintenance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of contract management across a diverse portfolio, driving performance, compliance and value for money.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will:
Oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, from procurement to delivery, ensuring efficiency and compliance with legislation (PCR2015 & PA23).
Lead on contract execution, negotiations, monitoring and performance management.
Develop strong relationships with procurement teams and contractors, ensuring best practice and delivery of social value.
Take ownership of financial and performance reporting, valuations, final accounts, and contractual advice.
Provide leadership to a Contracts Coordinator and wider teams, fostering continuous improvement and high levels of customer satisfaction.
Ensure Health & Safety and CDM regulations are embedded across all contracts.
Act as the key point of contact for contract disputes, claims and risk management.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
Significant experience managing multiple contracts within housing, construction or a related sector.
Strong knowledge of contract management frameworks, procurement legislation and best practice.
Excellent negotiation, financial, and analytical skills.
Leadership capability, able to guide a specialist team in a high-pressure environment.
A degree in business, construction, surveying, or related field (RICS/CIOB membership desirable).
Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements, ideally with NEBOSH/IOSH.

The role:
You will take responsibility for developing and delivering investment programmes that ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, while driving long-term asset strategy.
