You will be joining The Advocacy Project at a critical time as we enter the second year of our new strategy.  Key to the success of the new strategy is developing a sustainable business model that moves us from a reliance on statutory income to a mixed portfolio of funding including trusts and foundations and paid for services.  Focussing on growth we are looking to secure at least £250,000 new income annually while maintaining our current income levels, we aim to double our income by the end of our strategy in 2030.

As part of our senior leadership team, you will be agile and collaborative, a fundraising professional who has developed and delivered an income generation strategy and achieved income growth across multiple income streams, including developing commercial income streams, grants and statutory income. You will be hands on, getting stuck into applications, prospecting, communicating, and developing new income opportunities. Building strong relationships with staff, volunteers and service users, you will also have the ability to engage with stakeholders and build relationships externally. You will develop evidence-based and impact-led cases for support for various projects and must be able to unlock growth, develop new approaches and help communicate our impact.

You will build and lead a small, effective and positive fundraising team.

Key responsibilities

• Developing our income strategy to ensure we reach our financial and strategic goals.
• Chairing the Business development and fundraising committee
• Further developing trust and foundations pipeline, growing income and identifying new opportunities.
• Further develop our commercial income opportunities including training, consultancy and paid for services.
• Overseeing all tender submissions including building the pipeline and writing or commissioning tender writers.
• Working with the CEO and our comms officer to ensure our Comms and Income generation strategy are aligned.
• Recruiting and managing bid writers as required. 
• Working with our Finance team to ensure all donations are collected and recorded correctly, holding budget responsibility for fundraising and cooms.
• Building our case for support, working closely with staff and service users to understand their lived experience.
• Representing The Advocacy Project with funders, commissioners and external partners
• Ensure the Board of Trustees are regularly updated on the progress of income generation and our comms engagement, using a transparent and consistent reporting framework.

About you

We’re looking for someone with a significant success and experience of impactful charitable fundraising across diverse income streams especially from trust and foundations.

Associate Director of Fundraising and Communications

We’re looking for an Associate Director of Fundraising and Communications who is primed to play a major role as the driving force behind a new era of income growth and brand influence in the Third Sector.

Working 35 hours per week in a hybrid role you can work effectively from home with a willingness to regularly network across Wales and attend Cardiff City Centre Head Office as the nature of the role requires.

The Role

You’re a people focused leader with a passion for driving transformation to spearhead our income growth and elevate our brand. This is a high impact, critical and senior leadership role where you’ll have direct responsibility for financial performance and leading integrated functions to ensure no opportunity for impact is missed.

About The Clink Charity

The Clink Charity, founded in 2009, aims to prevent and reduce reoffending through training, reintegration, and support. We deliver hospitality and horticulture training behind the prison walls and in the community by creating an environment where our students are supported to gain the skills, confidence and qualifications they need to rebuild their lives.

Since that time, we have trained approximately 5,000 people in prison and delivered 2,600 City & Guilds qualifications in a variety of hospitality and food courses.

What makes The Clink so unique is our post-release support and mentoring programme that reintegrates an offender back into society through assistance with health and mental health issues, housing, employment, family connections and friendships.

The charity operates an award-winning fine-dining restaurant open to the public inside HMP Brixton, training kitchens in the prison estate, horticulture projects at HMP Send and HMP Erlestoke, a commercial bakery in Brixton, and a bespoke delivery service, Catered by Clink.

Additionally, Clink Events is our social enterprise catering business with food produced by the women in HMP Downview and also in an additional kitchen at Herne Hill and then served by alumni on front of house at some of the best venues in London including: the Guildhall, the Science Museum, Cutty Sark, Kew Gardens and the Camden Roundhouse. About The Role

Working pattern: Full time, 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, 3-4 days in the office, or on site at projects in prison or in the community.

Our Head of Fundraising & Brand is a vital leadership role within The Clink Charity, responsible for securing the income, profile and partnerships needed to sustain and grow our life-changing work.

This is a broad and influential role, providing strategic leadership across fundraising, communications, marketing and brand. Working within our portfolio of prison and community-based projects, the postholder will help ensure that The Clink's impact is communicated in a compelling and consistent way to funders, supporters, partners and the wider public, while developing sustainable income streams to support our long-term ambitions.

Building on The Clink's strong reputation and proven impact, the Head of Fundraising & Brand will lead the development and delivery of a fundraising and communications strategy that extends beyond grants to encompass major donors, corporate partnerships, individual giving, events and other income opportunities. Through powerful storytelling, audience growth and brand development, they will increase awareness of our work, strengthen engagement with key stakeholders and create new opportunities for fundraising, partnerships and commercial income generation.

Job purpose

We are seeking a strategic, collaborative and experienced Head of income and partnerships to drive forward and deliver our plans for income growth and diversification in line with our 5-year organisational strategy.

This is a new, pivotal role at a defining moment for the organisation. As we evolve our operating model and ambitions, you will lead the development of a more diverse, sustainable and innovative income portfolio, ensuring we can continue to grow our impact in advancing the quality of veterinary care for the benefit of animals, the public and society.

Role: Programmes, Governance and Income Generation Manager 

Hours: Part-time, 4 days / 30 hours per week. We will consider flexible working. 

Annual Salary: £31,000 to £33,000 pro rata per year depending on experience.

Location: North Lambeth, London SE1. Hybrid working with at least one day a week in the office and regular work across the borough.

About Lambeth Links 

Lambeth Links are recruiting a Programmes, Governance and Income Generation Manager to support our charity’s meaningful work across Lambeth.

Lambeth Links is a small charity with a big ambition: to be a central point of rallying, communication and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ Community who live, work and socialise in Lambeth – the largest borough in London. The organisation aims to strengthen the links between individuals and groups while also highlighting the many issues that continue to adversely affect the community. 

Lambeth has a deep and rich history of LGBTQIA+ activism. From being home to founding members of the Gay Liberation Front (GLF) to hosting Europe’s first Euro Pride in Brixton in 1992, the borough has long been the beating heart of the LGBTQIA+ Community. Lambeth Links exists to continue that legacy of championing collective voice and driving forward change.

About the Role 

As Programmes, Governance and Income Generation Manager, you will turn strategy into funded programmes, secure income from government and public bodies, and ensure delivery meets both community needs and funder objectives.

The ideal candidate will have: 

• Significant experience of managing programmes or multiple projects end-to-end, including planning, commissioning, timeline and delivery management, and evaluation. 

• Experience of delivering bids and managing budgets across a variety of income generation streams, such as grants and fundraising, partnerships, stakeholder engagement, or donation drives.

• Experience of building and maintaining partnerships with local and national statutory organisations (Government Councils, NHS), commissioning bodies, grassroots and community organisations, and relevant trusts and foundations. 

• Experience of organisational development or change, for example improving systems, structures, culture or ways of working in a small organisation. 

• Understanding of the issues faced by LGBTQIA+ people, including those who are Black or from other communities of colour, disabled people and people with insecure immigration status, and a commitment to intersectional practice.

The Role

You will design and deliver a new income generation strategy that unlocks growth across:

· Corporate partnerships

· Major donors and philanthropy

Essential Experience & Track Record

• A demonstrable track record of generating income and/or building sustainable revenue streams, across more than one income source.

A newly created role, the Head of Relationship Fundraising will lead a diverse portfolio spanning Family & Friends fundraising, community fundraising, mid-value and major donor relationships, charity partnerships and corporate fundraising opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Income Generation, you will inherit an established portfolio of supporters and partners while identifying new opportunities for growth across the Duchenne community and beyond.

A key focus will be Duchenne UK’s Family & Friends Funds programme, a nationwide network of more than 50 family-led funds. You will combine ambitious income generation with exceptional supporter care, building trusted relationships with families, supporters, partners and donors whose connection to DMD is often deeply personal.

Working closely with the Director of Income Generation, CEO and co-founder Emily Reuben OBE, co-founder Alex Johnson OBE, and wider senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future direction of relationship fundraising and helping to build a more strategic and sustainable fundraising programme for the years ahead.

As Head of Relationship Fundraising, you will:

• Lead delivery of Duchenne UK’s relationship fundraising strategy, driving sustainable income growth across multiple income streams
• Develop and grow Family & Friends fundraising, community fundraising, mid-value, major donor, partnership and corporate fundraising opportunities
• Build and steward a pipeline of supporters and prospects, developing meaningful long-term relationships
• Develop the Family & Friends Funds programme, ensuring excellent and compassionate supporter experiences
• Develop supporter journeys, stewardship plans and relationship management processes that increase engagement and retention
• Strengthen fundraising systems, processes and ways of working to support future growth
• Operationally lead relationships with charity partners and key stakeholders
• Monitor fundraising performance, pipeline activity and KPIs
• Line manage the Community & Events Fundraiser and help shape the wider fundraising function’s future direction, structure and growth

Essential skills and experience:

• Significant experience in relationship fundraising, with a track record of delivering sustainable income growth
• Experience managing complex supporter or donor relationships in emotionally sensitive or values-led environments
• Experience working with high-value supporters or philanthropy audiences
• Experience developing community, peer-to-peer, high-value or partnership fundraising relationships
• Demonstrable success in achieving income targets and building fundraising pipelines
• Strong relationship management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
• Experience developing supporter journeys and stewardship approaches that improve engagement and retention
• Strong financial awareness, including pipeline management and forecasting
• Excellent communication skills and experience using CRM systems effectively
• Exceptional emotional intelligence, empathy and a commitment to outstanding supporter care
• A proactive, entrepreneurial and solutions-focused approach

Desirable:

• Experience within a health, medical research or disability-related charity
• Experience of diagnosis-led, in-memory or bereavement-related fundraising
• Knowledge of fundraising regulation, GDPR and Gift Aid
• Experience using Salesforce

The CEO is responsible for the overall leadership, management and performance of UnitedGMH. Reporting to the boards of UnitedGMH and the American Friends of United for Global Mental Health (AFUGMH), the CEO will set strategic direction, oversee delivery, and act as the organisation’s primary ambassador.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership

• Lead in conjunction with the organisation’s senior staff the refinement and delivery of our global organisational strategy 2027-2030.
• Guide the organisation through periods of change, including strategy refresh and transformation.
• Draw on sector insight to ensure UnitedGMH remains at the forefront of global mental health advocacy.

Governance & Board Relationship

• Work closely with the boards of UnitedGMH and AFUGMH to ensure effective governance and decision-making.
• Oversee the preparation and sign-off of board papers; present regularly to the boards. 
• Identify, recommend and support the recruitment of new members of both boards. 
• Advise the boards on significant strategic decisions, including potential partnerships and organisational change.

Organisational Leadership

• Lead, support and inspire a high-performing and global team of approximately 20 staff.
• Where needed, oversee and support the delivery of multiple projects and programmes aligned with strategic priorities, in conjunction with the project leads.
• Foster a collaborative, kind, inclusive and values-driven culture that walks the talk on mental health.

External Engagement & Influence

• Represent the organisation with external partners, funders, policymakers and the wider sector. 
• Build and manage relationships with key donors.
• Strengthen and expand strategic partnerships globally.
• Champion the organisation’s mission and influence key stakeholders in different regions across the world.
• Act as the organisation’s global spokesperson and support staff in building their profile as spokespeople for the organisation.

Finance & Organisational Planning

• Identify and agree organisational objectives, develop strategic and operational plans, and lead their implementation with a high level of autonomy, while reporting to the boards. 
• Oversee organisational planning, budgeting, prioritisation and resource allocation to ensure delivery against strategic goals. 
• Ensure the organisation has sufficient and sustainable funding to deliver against agreed budgets and strategic priorities. 
• Maintain strong financial oversight and accountability, ensuring the organisation operates within budget and delivers across all agreed objectives. 
• Monitor organisational performance against agreed deliverables, evaluating outcomes and adjusting plans where necessary to mitigate risk or adverse consequences. 
• Ensure robust financial management, operational planning, and effective use of organisational resources across multiple programmes and projects. 
• Bring together and oversee complex, cross-organisational initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered effectively and on time. 
• Delegate effectively through senior leadership and management structures, maintaining a medium- and long-term strategic focus. 

Fundraising & External Income Generation

• Lead and support organisational fundraising strategy to secure sustainable and diversified income streams. 
• Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, donors, strategic partners and philanthropic stakeholders. 
• Successfully secure and oversee fundraising contributions to meet a target set annually with the boards. 
• Work with the boards and senior leadership team to identify new funding opportunities and strengthen long-term financial sustainability. 
• Ensure fundraising activities align with the organisation’s mission, values and strategic priorities. 
• Represent the organisation externally to enhance visibility, influence and support for UnitedGMH’s work globally. 

Risk, Compliance & Accountability

• Ensure strong organisational governance, compliance and risk management. 
• Proactively identify and escalate policy breaches or serious incidents. 
• Oversee finance, HR and operations functions in accordance with UK employment policies, and UK and US charity regulations.
• Act as the primary point of accountability to the boards and relevant regulatory bodies (including the Charity Commission and US authorities). 
• Take responsibility for organisational risks, decisions and outcomes.
