We're looking for two Support Workers to join Your Place and be part of our dedicated team to help us with our mission to solve homelessness in east London, one person at a time!

About the role

Based within the Personal Development team, this role is responsible for the service delivery of an effective, high-quality, person centred support service to residents with a range of multiple needs.

They will be the principal providers of support to residents in the Core service to build
hope, enable lasting change; supporting residents to instil independence and longterm sustainability, to ensure we mitigate as much as possible, a return to
homelessness.

The role will require shift work, including evenings and weekends

Salary: £28,712 - £32,240 annual salary
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours
Location: Canning Town, London

Other responsibilities include

• To be responsible to the Team Manager and Deputy Team Manager for the day-to-day delivery of the Core service.
• Take a positive, trauma-informed approach to working with residents with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
• Use motivational and asset based interviewing techniques to interview, assess and create support plans and risk assessments that address the needs of residents.
• Supporting residents from point of entry into the service, working with them to support social (re-integration), enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives.
• Conduct regular reviews of support plans and risk assessments as required.
• Take a pro-active approach in multi-disciplinary support required for residents.
• Work within a Psychologically Informed Environment approach and strive to meet targets and deliver results.
• Ensure a high standard of customer service is upheld
• To attend team meetings and take part in service policy and planning.
• To participate in team meetings, team review days and other meetings as agreed with the Team Manager.
• To keep abreast of current housing legislation, welfare benefit legislations and other matters relevant to successful support and move on of residents.
• To respond and process all referrals made to the Core service and ensure those accessing the service meet the service eligibility criteria.
• To ensure all case work is properly recorded and all service offers and outcomes are entered clearly onto the case management system and to a high standard.
• To actively collect follow up information with regards to the outcome of reconnections and report
• To deal with the immediate support needs of the residents as appropriate.
• To assess resident safety and develop risk management strategies with the resident and other involved services.
• To ensure all service delivery policies and decisions made by the Team Manager or team are observed and followed through.
• To keep accurate records and statistics on referrals, service outputs and outcomes etc.
• To maintain a high standard of record keeping in the office and keep all financial and administrative systems including resident files in the office in an accurate and up-to-date manner in line with policy.
• To ensure the results of all assessments and all service offers are entered clearly and in a timely fashion onto the case management system.
• To liaise and collaborate effectively on a day-to-day basis with outside agencies including the police, social services and other statutory and voluntary agencies.
• To build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
• Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with policies and procedures.
• To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with work role for health and safety in the workplace.
• To undertake such other duties within the competence of the post holder which may be required from time to time.

About you

Experience

• A demonstrable level of experience and understanding of the range of approaches appropriate to working with challenging behaviour including current drug /or alcohol use, antisocial behaviour, offending and substance misuse
• Experience of working with clients in a trauma-informed way with proven effectiveness
• Demonstrate an understanding of statutory compliances and standards such health and safety, equal opportunities, data protection, particularly within a residential setting.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
• Using motivational interview techniques to produce and approach referrals, needs and risk assessments and support planning in a SMART manner.
• Knowledge of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE).
• Demonstrable experience within local authority, voluntary, independent, charity or social housing sector
• Successful track record of work with colleagues in order to achieve common goals
• Working across agencies and / or partnership arrangements
• Awareness of issues facing single people that experience homelessness or rough sleeping.

Skills & knowledge

• IT skills and particularly Microsoft Office packages
• Sound knowledge of working in casework management system (Salesforce/Inform/Pyramid).
• Excellent time management and administrative skills
• Sound knowledge in identifying and dealing with substance misuse issues
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting supported housing and vulnerable adult groups
• Understanding of health and safety in a supported housing setting

Abilities

• Ability and demonstrable experience of being able to develop good working relationships and rapport with residents and stakeholders.
• Ability to motivate those with support needs to engage with meaningful activities
• Evidence of effective de-escalation techniques.
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people at all levels, maintaining professional boundaries
• Ability to interpret and communicate the meaning of legislation, policy, guidance, research and information on best practice
• Ability to work co-operatively to achieve goals
• Ability to set up and work according to schedules

Position: Bounce Back for Kids (BB4K) Support Worker

Job Title: Complex Need Recovery Worker

Location: Based on site in Balham. Please note that this service has step free access.

Salary: £27,000

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours a week over a rolling rota which includes 7.5 - 12 hour day and night shifts, Monday to Sunday working between 08:00 -21:30. You may also be required to work flexibly around these hours as per resident and service requirements, including weekends and bank holidays.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Recovery Worker, with a specialism in complex needs to join our team, which supports residents who have a current or history of complex and mental health needs. In this role, you will deliver flexible, tailored, person centred support to residents to improve their quality of life and achieve their personal goals. You will utilise your communication skills to build trusting, professional rapport with our residents to help them overcome personal challenges. Our residents may have multiple and complex needs which includes with their mental health, substance use, and physical health. The service supports them to move onto lower supported or independent housing, and you will be at the forefront in their journey.

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
• Focusing on empowering our residents to take control over their lives and meet their personal goals
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for night colleagues for a seamless service
• Supporting residents with taking their correct medication
• Keeping support plans up to date using our online portal

About You

We're looking for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting people who may have complex needs which includes mental health challenges and substance dependency. You will be able to build professional and trusting rapport with others, and work towards achieving positive outcomes, using a flexible and adaptable approach that recognises each individual’s unique and varied support needs. You will be motivated to help people overcome personal barriers and make a real difference to their lives, finding fulfilment in a role driven by a genuine commitment to supporting others. You will be able to remain calm, flexible, and positive when responding to challenging situations, and be motivated to support people to build resilience and independence. Experience in mental health or support work is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

• Experience working within a residential setting
• Experience working with people with multiple and complex needs, ideally in mental health
• Ability to show empathy and compassion to our residents, and different challenges they face
• Ability to motivate, and empower others to achieve their personal goals and overcome barriers
• Previous experience in creating co-produced support plans, key working, and care plans
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges
• Willingness and ability to work flexibly to meet service needs
• IT proficiency - we use various systems so look for someone who can learn and navigate new systems including case management, Microsoft, ATS, HR systems, and other types of organisational software

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Youth Worker to join the team. The role will be based in our East team which currently works in the boroughs of Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets.

This role will be responsible for delivering support to individuals experiencing complex ill mental health and substance misuse issues, targeting achievable outcomes that promote and deliver positive outcomes for tenants in our services.The post holder will be responsible for delivering evidence-based interventions with a holistic assessment to support personalised recovery and promotion of independent living skills. Multi-disciplinary team working will be a part of the role, utilising and offering additional support and advice from partners and wider network services.

Key Responsibilities

Support Assessment & Delivery

• Implement and deliver dual-diagnosis support through 1.1 and group sessions to tenants experiencing issues with poor mental health and substance misuse.
• Undertake joint holistic assessments and risk assessments with tenants participating in the service to determine service and support needs and identity where these can be met.
• Provide outcome-based support measured against goals, personal aspirations of the tenant, and their achievements.
• Working with tenants, encourage them to identify their own goals and work towards independence and resilience. The key aims are to reduce the need for acute clinical interventions and hospitalisations.
• Put in place with the tenant, agreed SMART targets with a range of evidence-based interventions that addresses areas of need, such as harm minimisation, prevention of relapse for those in addiction recovery, and improved self-awareness and motivation.
• Through collaborative working with other teams in the organisation, enhance the personalised and choice-led support plan of tenants to integrate with their tenancy support needs and reducing the risk of tenancy loss due to dual-diagnosis issues.
• Help reduce episodes of crisis though support initiatives such as peer-led support groups.
• Be proactive in observing and responding to changing characteristics of tenants receiving support, recognising deterioration in mental wellbeing and putting in place interventions that reduce the likelihood of more acute support needs.
• Be a point of contact for tenants who are on the verge of experiencing a crisis episode, providing appropriate support and interventions to help avoid the need to access acute services.
• Foster positive working relationships with external stakeholders, breaking down barriers and improving access to appropriate support services such as specialised mental healthcare and addiction recovery programmes.
• Develop effective community links that expands support resources that to be offered to tenants.
• Develop all support plans and coaching sessions to embrace the key elements and principles of Trauma Informed Practice and Psychologically Informed Environments.
• Keep up to date with strategies and methodologies used in the support sector to ensure dual-diagnosis support in the organisation remains at a high level for all tenants accessing it.
• Promote the achievements of tenants receiving support through KPI reporting and case studies.
• Recognise goals and aspirations achieved by individuals and using the evidence obtained, formulate and develop future support plans and strategies that enhance the service.
• Work with team leaders and managers to develop our lived experience support in a structured and safe way.
• Deliver practical harm reduction, relapse prevention, and coping strategy workshops.

Risk Management

• Ensure accurate and up to date risk assessments are undertaken, putting in place effective risk management plans to mitigate risk of harm, neglect, and any other areas of risk to the tenant, staff, and wider community.
•  Ensure all records and support plans are managed in compliance with organisational policies governing confidentiality, privacy, data sharing consent, and keeping to the requirements and principles of the UK GDPR.

General Responsibilities

• Support colleagues through the sharing of support strategies and techniques that will benefit tenants outside of dual-diagnosis sessions.
• Foster positive and effective working relationships with colleagues in the Housing and Support teams.
• Ensure adhere to Stay’s policies & procedures
• Represent the charity at relevant external meetings or forums as required.
• Always maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality, upholding the charity’s values and ethos.
• Participate in team meetings, training, supervision and appraisals as required.

About the Service

The ConnectU St Albans programme is a partnership-led initiative designed to address key social, economic, and health needs primarily those in Park Street and London Colney, as well as Chiswell Green, Sopwell and Cottonmill. Provide primary and secondary contact details to ensure continuity and responsiveness. Through a coordinated and targeted approach across Health and Wellbeing, Employment, and Community Engagement, the programme will expand vital services into underserved areas, while strengthening existing support to vulnerable groups.

The purpose of the Hertfordshire Mind Network Community Outreach Worker ConnectU St Albans role is to:

• Expand employment, health and wellbeing, and community engagement services into priority areas: Sopwell & Cottonmill, Park Street & Chiswell Green, and London Colney.
• Strengthen existing service provision for financial advice, food security, and homelessness support.
• Build strong local partnerships, volunteer networks, and stakeholder relationships.
• Deliver measurable outcomes for residents, with a focus on those experiencing deprivation and marginalisation.
• To provide advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients with coexisting drug and alcohol difficulties, mental ill-health, these will be clients who are presenting to the Police, Anti-Social Behaviour, Tenancy Enforcement, Housing and Environmental Health Services within Hertfordshire.
• To ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• Embed a person centred and solution focused approach in all aspects of the role.
• To raise greater awareness of complex needs and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) amongst local service providers. Supporting them to gain confidence in working positively and consistently with people who have multiple needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Encourage and support clients to participate in group activities, workshops, and community-based mental health programs.
• Provide employment-related support as part of mental health and wellbeing recovery services, including goal setting, job readiness, and workplace adjustment support.
• Assist clients in developing CVs that reflect their strengths, skills, and recovery goals, supporting confidence and readiness for employment.
• Engage individuals with early-stage mental health needs or employment barriers through accessible, community-based support delivered in partnership with local organisations near client’s homes.
• Encourage and support clients to access volunteering opportunities that build skills, confidence, and community connection.
• Work from the local food bank every Friday from 10:00am–12:00pm as a point of contact for individuals to access support and information, including referrals and signposting to appropriate services.
• Hold a caseload proportionate to working hours, delivering support through home visits and community-based interventions.
• Provide practical support by transporting clients to external appointments to reduce barriers to access and promote wellbeing.

The Suzy Lamplugh Trust was established in memory of Suzy Lamplugh, a young estate agent who tragically disappeared while at work in 1986 and was later declared deceased in 1993.  Created to honour Suzy's legacy, the Trust aims to empower individuals and organisations to take a stand against abuse, aggression, and violence in all forms, supporting safety in both personal and professional lives.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic senior social worker to lead, deliver and develop our SAFE Project, a pan-London project dedicated to providing advocacy support for stalking victims aged 11-16 (or up to age 25 with particular vulnerabilities), funded by Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong senior operational experience.  You will need to be able to think on your feet and work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.  This first-of-its-kind project, co-designed with partner organisation Safer London, will seek to fill in important gaps in understanding, assessing and supporting young people experiencing stalking. You will work closely to ensure that systems are robust, inclusive, and aligned with the needs of vulnerable children, while embedding the service into the wider ecosystem of London specialist services driving change.

Reporting to the Head of Pan London Stalking Support Service, you will provide expert advice and advocacy to children, young people and their families, ensuring the SAFE Project has what it needs to deliver an outstanding service.  You will be trainined as an Independent Stalking Advocate (ISA), hold a caseload, and over the course of the contract, you will support the upskilling of all ISAs on the team to be able to take children and young people's cases.  In addition to leading on the development of the children and youth work provision, you will oversee a Young People's Experts by Experience group to ensure victim's voices are fed into project development.

This role is hybrid, initially requiring on-site attendance at our London office until the sucessful completion of the first probation review (typically 3 months), as well as regular travel across London
