Rose Voucher Project Officer, Southwark Rose Vouchers for Fruit and Veg Project

The Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg Project in Southwark has been successfully supporting families with young children to ensure fruit and vegetables are a part of their everyday diet since 2018. As we enter the seventh year of the project, we are now looking for a new member of staff to join the 1st Place Rose Voucher Project team and support our work in delivering the project, while measuring its wider impact on families. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience of working in a community setting and an understanding of impact and evaluation to take on a key role in the project, involving ongoing interaction with families and professionals.

Job Summary

As Rose Voucher Project Officer, you will be working alongside the Southwark Rose Voucher Project Lead to forward the development of the Rose Voucher Project in Southwark. Your key areas of responsibility will be registering new families onto the Rose Voucher Project, overseeing the two Rose Voucher distribution sessions which take place at both our centres, supported by our dedicated Rose Voucher volunteers, and coordinating and supporting the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the Project. You will also provide support to our network of other Rose Voucher distribution centres in Southwark to ensure they are working in a coordinated way and according to agreed processes.

You will be a motivated individual, with excellent written and communication skills, and proven experience of working in a community setting where service users are valued, listened to and respected. Previous experience working with and signposting families is essential to ensure that our Rose Voucher families are aware of the many services and activities available to support and increase their health and wellbeing. The Rose Vouchers Project is an integral part of the wider Family Hub team at 1st Place, so you will be working in a busy environment, with colleagues who are all as committed to providing a friendly service and positive experience for families as you are.

What you’ll do:

• Manage, monitor and report on the bilingual web pages and Facebook page for Wales

• Maximise coverage for campaigns and fundraising communications in Wales, and produce creative content, including video

• Research and ‘sell’ stories to maximise coverage, involving people affected by Parkinson’s

• Provide Welsh language media interviews

• Conduct media and social media training for staff and volunteers and produce media briefings to support interviews

Main duties and responsibilities

· Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors to maximize financial support and our community of supporters.

We are recruiting for a Dementia Carers Support Officer who can make a positive difference to the lives of unpaid carers in the diverse communities of Redbridge by providing them with practical, emotional and health and wellbeing related RCSS services. Services include the development and delivery of peer social and learning activities to give carers a break and reduce the risk of acute isolation. 

The post holder will focus specifically on carers of people with dementia ensuring they receive advice and information and access key support services.  The post holder will also work closely with partner organisations to facilitate cross referrals for both the carer and the person with dementia.  A key requirement of the post is to feed into local strategic work to improve the support pathway for people with dementia and their carers including being a point of contact within Redbridge as well as attendance and input to relevant partnership boards and other working groups.

The post holder will also work with colleagues, to act as a bridge between carers and statutory services, contributing towards giving carers a stronger voice in speaking up for themselves and their peers. This role is part of our peer support services team and will be responsible for supporting our online peer support communities, including our forum and Facebook groups.

Alongside its role as managing partner of See Me, the Mental Health Foundation (MHF) works in partnership with the programme to deliver its research, learning and evaluation functions. Blatchington Court Trust, based in Hove, is looking for a strategic, inspirational and experienced leader to join as our new Chief Executive Officer. As our new CEO, you will lead this well-regarded, financially secure local charity to further develop our work for children and young people with sight loss across Sussex.

With a highly committed team, Blatchington Court Trust (BCT) stands as a beacon of support and empowerment for young people under 30 with sight loss and their families across Sussex. We are a vital resource for our community, offering a diverse range of services aimed at informing, empowering, and enriching the lives of those we serve. These include educational advocacy, benefits advice, technology grants, wellbeing support, and running a wide range of events and activities.

Under the leadership of our new CEO, we are looking to develop our strategy, policies and processes, better measure our impact, and explore fundraising opportunities beyond our investment income so we can expand and develop our services.

Role: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Blatchington Court Trust

Salary: circa £65,000

Location: Hove, Sussex

Contract: permanent, full time

• Proven experience in senior leadership roles within the charitable sector, demonstrating the ability to lead change, inspire, motivate, and lead teams.
• Track record of developing and implementing organisational strategy.
• Business development acumen, with a track record of growing income and identifying and bringing in new funding.
• Experience in recruiting, developing, and managing high-performing teams, with a commitment to staff development and empowerment.
• Sound understanding of financial management principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking and negotiating skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including beneficiaries, donors, funders, and partner organisations.
• Strong understanding of impact assessment, with the ability to develop and implement effective impact assessment processes.
• Proven ability to create a positive and inclusive work environment where all staff feel valued, supported, and motivated.
• Lived experience of sight loss or a strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with sight loss would be advantageous but not essential.

The Learning Projects Officer will be responsible for developing new learning programmes designed for Clinical Radiologists and Clinical Oncologists at any (and all) stages of their careers, wherever they practice. The role holder will work alongside the RCR Learning team to understand our members’ needs and in response develop high-quality, income-generating educational pilots and resources.

What you’ll do:

• Develop from conception to completion in collaboration with colleagues several high-quality learning programmes on time and within budget.
• Be responsible for the quality of newly developed programmes beyond the project completion.
• Undertake desk-based research and horizon scanning to inform the decision-making process for the development of new learning programmes.
• Work with the Learning Technologist and Learning Technology Coordinator to produce quality digital learning content.
• Track the ongoing performance of programmes and resources against agreed metrics.
• Develop and maintain faculty pools comprised of UK-based doctors.
• Create a project plan for each learning programme with clear goals, targets, budgets and deadlines.

What you’ll need:

• Experience delivering high standard projects on time and in budget.
• Experience with stakeholder management, working with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
• Ability to initiate and lead projects independently and with minimal supervision.
• Effective interpersonal and teamworking skills to help negotiate, solve problems, and share knowledge with internal and external stakeholders where needed. 
• Clear and analytical thinker with the ability to exercise sound initiative, judgement and discretion and think through issues to offer practical solutions.
