Summary of the role:

The Community Fundraising Volunteers Coordinator is to drive and enhance fundraising efforts for Muslim Aid by planning, coordinating, and executing innovative fundraising events and campaigns across regional and national levels. This position involves deep engagement with the Muslim community and various stakeholders to maximise fundraising opportunities and achieve financial targets.

The post holder will ensure that all activities adhere to regulatory standards and organisational promises, effectively represent the organisation in public forums and live appeals, and manage productive relationships with external partners to optimise outcomes. Additionally, the post holder supports strategic campaign planning and evaluation, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with legal frameworks. The incumbent is expected to be flexible, with readiness to travel and adapt to unsociable hours as needed to meet the demands of the role.

About the Role

1. Collaborate with the Fundraising team to optimise income through various community and innovative events, meeting agreed financial targets.
2. Possess a thorough understanding of the Muslim community and its key stakeholders.
3. Plan and manage fundraising and promotional events across the region, adapting successful strategies for national implementation. This includes participation in events at schools, businesses, mosques, and with community groups and the general public.
4. To coordinate volunteer involvement nationally, such as fundraising, administration and awareness raising.
5. Cultivates a positive and supportive atmosphere by recognising volunteer efforts and assisting volunteers with their interests within the organisation.
6. Be available for national travel at short notice to engage with donors and participants at various community events.

About you :

To be successful in this role:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
2. Experience in building a fundraising portfolio and securing income across a range of fundraising disciplines, especially from universities, mosques and volunteers.
3. Experience of creating and successfully implementing a fundraising strategy.
4. An understanding and awareness of the value of social media and how to maximise the digital fundraising potential.
5. Able to inspire people and to develop long-term relationships, with the gravitas to gain the trust and respect of relevant internal and external stakeholders.

The post holder will be responsible for line managing the team who plan and deliver a broad programme of social and educational community-based activities.  You will oversee the smooth running of the service and be responsible for quality assurance while ensuring the identified aims of the programme are met. This job does require you to be an experienced manager who has planned and developed sessions for people with learning disabilities and led and motivated a team to ensure positive outcomes for people using the service.

 Operational Support Coordinator

Salary : £15,000 for a 3 day week 

Facing the Future is a Samaritans service offering peer support groups to people bereaved by suicide.  Since transferring the groups online in February 2021, we have supported over 800 people who have experienced loss by suicide.  The team of facilitators has grown in that time  from 15 to nearly 100 from all over the UK and Ireland. To help us move forward, we are looking for an empathetic individual strong on attention to detail and IT skills to be our Administrator.  This role is designed to give operational support to the service, the volunteer leadership team and to our volunteer Facilitators and Supervisors as we work together to deliver our mission that no-one should have to face this isolating bereavement alone. 

The responsibilities of the role are many and varied and will suit someone who is comfortable with managing a variety of tasks simultaneously.  Responsibilities include managing our confidential databases, and the processes involved in setting up groups for those people on our waiting list, managing communications to group participants and to Facilitators, and supporting our training programme .

This is a part time remote working role with support from the team at Central London Samaritans. 

The successful candidate will be a good communicator who is highly organised and remains calm under pressure. Importantly they should be able to manage change as we will be transferring our current systems over to Salesforce. Good listening skills are essential.

About the role: 

As an Area Manager, you’ll lead and support shop teams across your designated area, made up of paid and voluntary staff. Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3000 children in 2023-24.

Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.

Job Summary

Chapter One is seeking a West Cumbria Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able to both motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to disadvantaged communities is maximised throughout the academic year.

The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base and who is able to travel frequently around West Cumbria. The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers

• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms

• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others

• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up

• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom

• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles

• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise

• Analyse and manipulate data (largely in Google sheets) to produce reports and identify trends

• Create monthly data summaries for all participating classrooms

• Lead annual review meetings for senior leadership at participating schools

• Support programme monitoring, evaluation and research as required

• Coordinate in person and virtual school ‘visits’ of volunteer teams to classrooms where necessary

• Liaison with corporate partners as required

• Weekly communication and status updates with Senior Programme Manager(s) and wider team

• As a new school year approaches, secure commitments from returning schools and find and target new schools to join Chapter One’s programme

Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. We are looking for someone with the skills and ability to offer a coordinated approach in supporting young carers in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

As Young Carers Support Worker you will be part of a small, dedicated team which directly deliver a range of services for young carers, including information and advice, emotional support and mentoring, promoting awareness of young carers and delivering a wide selection of group activities, both term-time and in the school holiday programme. Using all your skills, you will work with the young carers’ team to deliver, review, and continually develop services for young carers to best meet their identified needs.

With your proven knowledge of working with children and young people, families, carers or other vulnerable groups on an individual and/or group basis, you will recognise the importance of being client focused and have a commitment to enhance the lives of young carers and their families, including knowledge and awareness of sibling young carers and vulnerable families. You will be able to demonstrate a broad knowledge of young carer’s needs, a wide range of skills in relation to service delivery to support young carers and have a sound understanding of social care provision in both statutory and voluntary sector environments.

You will be self-motivated and positive in your approach to working with both young carers, their families and team members, and have a willingness to embrace our organisational values.  Being innovative and creative, you will identify and implement a range of support mechanisms for young carers, enhancing their wellbeing and supporting them to achieve identified goals.  Strong administrative, time management, IT and organisational skills are essential.  Your ability and willingness to regularly work outside normal working hours is required.

As they continue to grow, they are looking for a dedicated HR Project Manager to join their team and support their mission.

Purpose of Role:

The purpose of this new role is to support the growth of Kinship by significantly contributing to infrastructural development, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, and seamless delivery of the HR function. As a pivotal role within Kinship, the HR Project Manager will lead on all employee lifecycle activities, creating high levels of engagement and positive experiences for staff.

Working in partnership with the Interim Head of People and Culture, Director of Finance, People and Performance, the wider management team and Kinship’s external HR consultants (HR Dept) to design, develop and embed a high-quality HR function to support the employee life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure all HR matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with legal requirements and policies.

- Act as the first point of contact for HR queries and provide guidance to line managers.

- Lead the collation of monthly payroll data and ensure its accuracy.

- Manage HR systems and databases to process employee data in line with GDPR regulations.

- Oversee the recruitment and onboarding process, ensuring an excellent experience for candidates and hiring managers.

- Contribute to the development of Kinship's induction framework and deliver induction sessions for new joiners.

- Identify learning and development needs within the charity and create cost-effective learning plans.

- Support the development and delivery of an effective performance management framework.

- Manage an employee relations caseload and provide support and guidance to line managers.

- Contribute to the development of Kinship's EDI framework and embed EDI principles across the charity.

Skills & Experience Required:

- Demonstrable experience of supporting the development of a high-quality HR function.

- HR certification (e.g., CIPD Level 5 qualification) is essential.

- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.

- Excellent administrative and data management skills.

- Effective written and oral communication skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload effectively.

- Experience of working in a dynamic and fast-changing environment is desirable.
