BIG Alliance (Businesses for Islington Giving) delivers business-supported employee volunteer programmes to strengthen links between businesses, community organisations and education institutions across Islington. Established in 2012, BIG Alliance aims to make community investment easier, more effective and more rewarding for its business members. About Mentoring Works

ELBA’s Mentoring Works programme has been running since 1996 and has supported thousands of young people across London and beyond. Mentoring Works connects Year 10 and Sixth Form/college students to volunteer business mentors working in the City and Canary Wharf. Mentors and mentees connect regularly for sessions designed to develop the knowledge, skills and qualities needed for future careers. Sessions explore the Skills Builder framework and key employability competencies but can also be tailored to individual needs. Mentoring Works provides resources, guides mentees in their own decisions and discoveries and promotes networks, opportunities and social mobility.

Purpose of the job

To be responsible for supporting the key aims and deliverables of Mentoring Works. The Mentoring Works Project Manager will need to develop and manage strong relationships with schools and colleges; recruit students and engage and train business volunteers as mentors; design resources; deliver sessions; monitor relationships; support with safeguarding and produce robust impact evaluations for the programme. You will be required to support other members of the Mentoring Works team and your colleagues as and when required. The post will be managed by the Head of Programmes - Education, with further support and training from the Mentoring Works team. The post holder will have regular one-to-one support for input and guidance to achieve agreed success indicators and will be subject to annual performance appraisals with mid-year reviews.

Job Description

• Manage relationships with schools, colleges and employers, with particular responsibility for ELBA’s partners 
• To promote safety and wellbeing of students at all times, to follow ELBA’s safeguarding policies and have full regard to the policies of the partners engaged in the programme.
• Oversee individual employee volunteer (mentor) and student (mentee) relationships to ensure programme objectives are being met. 
• Plan and deliver employee volunteer and student recruitment sessions.

• Lead on development and delivery of group activities to support the Mentoring Works programme and feedback sessions with students.

As Trusts and Foundations Officer, you'll:

Purpose

The Living Wage Foundation is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Media and Communications Manager to join our team for a 12-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and proactive communications professional with a strong background in media relations, public messaging, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will be experienced and confident in working to tight deadlines, responding to last-minute changes, and prioritising competing demands in a high-profile environment. They will be motivated to amplify the Living Wage Foundation’s mission of tackling low pay and insecure work.

The postholder will lead all media, messaging, and external affairs work, developing and implementing a proactive media strategy that supports our mission and key campaigns, such as Living Wage Week and the annual Rates announcement. As a skilled media professional, you will oversee all communications outputs, ensuring consistency and strategic alignment, while delivering media training and refining key messaging to maximise reach and impact. 

In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing our political engagement efforts, building cross-party support and working with political leaders, mayoral teams, and other key stakeholders to promote our initiatives. You’ll manage two direct reports (Events Manager and Media Manager) who each hold line management responsibilities, and you will play a critical role within our Senior Management Team, collaborating closely with the Head of Communications to shape the overall direction of our communications work. About the Role

We're looking for a compassionate and organised Family Support Coordinator to help deliver practical, emotional and financial support to families affected by Dravet Syndrome.

Working closely with the Head of Family Services, you'll be a key point of contact for families, supporting enquiries, coordinating grants, managing online communities, helping organise family events, and ensuring families can access the information and support they need.

The Financial Processing Officers will be responsible for all elements of accounts receivable and payable processing for all the NCIs and subsidiary companies, from raising purchase and sales invoices to ensuring timely payment and receipt of balances by following established procedures and in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA).

Too many young people are left waiting, repeating their story, or trying to navigate mental health systems that were never built with their lives in mind. In this role, you’ll help change that. As Mental Health Practitioner, you’ll help young people in Camden Young Person’s High Support Accommodation Service build trust, understand their options and access the health and mental health support they need to move towards safety, wellbeing and independence.

You’ll hold a focused caseload of young people with higher mental health and wellbeing needs, carrying out screenings, building clear health profiles, supporting referrals and helping young people engage with appointments, treatment and care planning. You’ll work alongside young people at their pace, recognising that confidence, choice and trust are often built through patience, consistency and strong relationships.

You’ll also support colleagues to feel more confident when responding to mental health need, distress, crisis, risk or barriers to engagement. Working closely with CAMHS, adult mental health services, primary care, substance use services and other health partners, you’ll help create a more joined-up response so young people are not passed between systems, but actively supported to access the care they deserve. A midweight integrated designer at Small Axe is part of our campaigns delivery team. In this role, you'll be working collaboratively with campaigners, digital experts, designers, press advisors, filmmakers and content creators to produce powerful campaigns.

The Senior Product Officer will work in the Engagement and Fundraising Directorate, responsible for all fundraising from individuals at the NSPCC. About the role:

At the heart of Camden’s response to street homelessness, the Rough Sleeping Outreach & Hub Service works across streets, transport hubs and a central support hub to ensure that no one is left facing rough sleeping alone. This is an integrated, borough-wide service focused on early engagement, reducing harm and supporting people to move away from the streets towards safety, accommodation and longer-term stability.

As an Outreach Worker, you’ll be a consistent and trusted presence for people sleeping rough or at risk of rough sleeping. Working flexibly across street outreach and hub-based support on a rota basis, you’ll build meaningful relationships, carry out trauma-aware assessments and coordinate practical support that helps people take their next steps.

You’ll work within a 'No Wrong Door' approach, supporting people wherever and however they engage. That might mean meeting someone early in the morning on outreach, supporting them to access the hub later that day, or working alongside partners to remove barriers that have kept them excluded in the past.

The Academy of Medical Sciences is seeking a Finance Officer to be responsible for ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded on a timely basis for the Charity and its trading subsidiary, using the Academy’s finance system, and related databases.

As Finance Officer, you will provide accurate and timely information to enquiries from a range of stakeholders, including - but not restricted to - staff, fellows and external suppliers.

The responsibilities of the post include:

Accounting on Finance System:

• Maintain the accounting records (purchase, sales and nominal ledgers) of AMS and AMSTL on the finance system (Iplicit) and assist with the reconciliation of control accounts and production of the monthly trial balance.
• Prepare monthly standard journals (accruals and prepayments) to produce the trial balance and work with the Financial Accountant to provide other period end journals as required.

Purchase ledger:

• Maintain the purchase ledgers of AMS and AMSTL by inputting purchase invoices and expense claims by onto Iplicit and processing payments by BACS (Lloyds Commercial).
• Assist staff with queries about expenses and purchase invoices.
• Ensure that authorisation limits are followed via purchase orders and maintain purchase order log.

Sales ledger:

• Prepare sales invoices for the Academy as necessary under terms of funding arrangements, liaising with relevant teams.
• Monitor and maintain fellowship records, ensuring subscription fees are invoiced and timely and deal promptly with any fellowship finance queries.
• Monitor and ensure all income and donations are correctly reflected on Iplicit and CRM system and that information is shared with the relevant departments.
• Liaise with the contract caterers Searcys on a regular basis to confirm sales on trading company, assisting with queries where needed.
• Upload sales information from the conference database Rendezvous to the finance system and reconcile monthly.
• Monitor receipts against invoices and assist with credit control to minimise the amounts owed by debtors to AMS and AMSTL.
• Support the FORUM staff group regarding invoicing and provision of information regarding receipts and credit control.

Cash management:

• Prepare banking details and bank any income received at the Academy offices on a regular basis.
• Post AMS and AMSTL bank receipts and payments onto Iplicit, preparing bank reconciliations in the finance system.
• Assist the Financial Controller with cash management, including looking at ways to improve the integration of the finance system with the online banking platform to increase automation of bank transactions.

Management accounts and year end:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly budget holder reports and help with queries about variances.
• Assist in preparation of year end accounts and work with the Financial Controller in producing documentation for audit.
• Ensure that all transactions are entered onto with the correct VAT code and assist the Financial Controller in the preparation and submission of VAT returns for the Academy.

Other:

• Provide cover for other Finance Officer
• Support staff who are running meetings and events by providing information on expenditure and income, preparing sales invoices, and assisting with credit control.
• Support the Head of Finance in the continued optimisation of Iplicit.
• Other tasks within the level of the role, and as requested by the Financial Controller, including support of work for the annual audit.

We need a Chief Executive who sees fundraising at the heart of the charity, and as storytelling with a purpose. If you thrive on walking into a room with a funder and leaving with a partnership, you're the person for us. Securing significant income through trust and statutory bids sits at the heart of this role, and so does the expertise in demonstrating impact. Sharp, compelling reporting that shows funders and supporters exactly what their money makes possible.

We're looking for someone who can shape a communications and brand presence that matches the strength of our reputation, someone with experience in setting direction for external-facing content, comfortable working with fractional expertise to keep our voice consistent and professional, and just as comfortable being the face of that voice themselves. You'll be equally at home talking research priorities with an ophthalmologist as you are meeting a family with an unexpected diagnosis.

This is a hands-on role in a lean, ambitious organisation. You'll hold real responsibility for strategy, governance and our external profile, working closely with a supportive Board of Trustees, but you'll also be close enough to the work to take ownership of the insight and data that prove it's working. IPS – Employment support

For people who need mental health support, getting back into work is a vital step on their recovery journey. The evidence backs this up, but although 90% of people with severe mental illness want to work, only 8% of them are in paid employment.

If you would like to join our team and champion our mission and help people who need employment support to get back into work. You will be supporting clients who are under the care of Secondary Mental Health services to gain and retain paid employment and will be based within a clinical team.

This is an incredibly rewarding role.  You'll have the opportunity to transform the lives of clients, to give them hope, direction and support with their recovery journey alongside other key professionals. This is also a challenging role, so you’ll need to be empathetic, adaptable and dedicated to finding clients a role that’s right for them.

As an Employment Specialist, you’ll build a good rapport with your clients, gaining a real understanding of their key skills, their aspirations and their career goals and finding them opportunities to match. You'll also spend time building productive relationships with employers in order to identify and negotiate job opportunities in the hidden labour market.

Job Summary

To provide support into employment for people with mental health problems including:

· Co create employment action plans with the individual, and provide this to the care co-ordinator and other professionals where appropriate.

· Assist individuals in job search and prepare them to apply for employment/education, liaising with colleagues as required e.g. Disability Employment Advisors, Jobcentre Plus, DWP contract providers and local colleges.

· Contact and meet with employers to identify job opportunities for individual clients.

· Have a proactive approach in developing jobs tailored to suit individual clients’ needs by contacting local employers, discussing mutual requirements and negotiating opportunities.

· Accompany job seekers to interviews if required.

· Provide education and support to employers, as agreed with the individual and provide job retention interventions to people at risk of losing their employment, negotiating adjustments to the job role with employers to enable the person to retain their employment.

· Support clients in the workplace by supporting them to learn the job role if necessary, and/or negotiating with employers to adapt the role at the start of employment or if difficulties arise in the workplace.

· Identify any barriers for return to work and develop appropriate strategies to overcome those barriers for clients who wish to gain or retain open employment maintaining a positive attitude to addressing challenges.

· Contribute to the opportunities for an individual’s increased social inclusion by developing partnership working with voluntary sector agencies, and linking with primary care employment and job retention initiatives.

· Promote the Mindful Employer initiative and best practice in mental health and employment within the mental health services and in other organisations in the local area.

· Maintain and develop close links with referrers, care co-ordinators and Community

· Regularly attend Team meetings.

· Complete data monitoring sheets and keep accurate caseload records.

· Maintain high standards of personal development and undertake further training as may be required.

Person specification

Qualifications and experience

Essential

· Educated to degree level or equivalent experience

· Experience/understanding of working with people with mental health support needs, or a similar client group within health, social services or the voluntary sector

· Experience of working with someone on a one-to-one basis

· Experience of managing multiple tasks at any one time

Desirable

· Trained in IPS approach

· Experience of supporting people to obtain or keep work

· Experience of working within health, social services or voluntary sector with people who have experienced mental health problems.

· Experience of working assertively to influence decision makers

· Own personal lived experience of recovery from mental health difficulties

· Previous experience of delivering a service using the IPS model is a bonus

· Proven experience of meeting and exceeding outcomes and targets
