THE ROLE

Start Network is looking for an experienced and bold leader to bring onboard new donors to support their vision, as well as establishing thriving new partnerships with allies across the sector in order to influence future funding decisions that impact those affected by humanitarian crises.

The role involves cultivating high-value donor relationships, securing large, multi-year grants, and creating innovative pitches to maximise funding opportunities. Collaboration across teams and with partners will be essential in order to produce quality donor reports, proposals, and budgets while ensuring compliance with donor policies.

The role will also involve representing Start Network at various global events, where exceptional networking and influencing skills will be key to shaping funding strategies and further building our reputation globally. As a senior leader, you will manage and mentor a high-performing team, champion a positive fundraising culture, and contribute to organisational strategy and growth.

About the Role

As an Triage and Assessment Officer you will provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic and sexual abuse through risk assessment, providing individual safety planning, trauma-informed support, guidance, and information, enabling victim/survivors to access the services they need in the aftermath of the abuse and trauma they have experienced.

You will make initial contact with victims of domestic abuse, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users. You will provide immediate intervention by telephone and any appropriate referral in order to:

* support those affected by domestic abuse in understanding and asserting their rights and entitlements
* in understanding their journey through the criminal justice and legal systems including the Victims Code of Practice
* facilitating access to additional services
* provide practical support and information to all victims and survivors of domestic abuse, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess risks and needs using evidence-based checklists.
• Assist high-risk victims in accessing safety services.
• Deliver tailored support and information.
• Understand legal frameworks for protecting children and vulnerable adults.
• Empower clients to recognize domestic abuse dynamics.

About You:

Ideally, you will have knowledge about legal remedies for domestic abuse victims and have experience working with drug, alcohol, and mental health issues. An understanding of benefits, housing, and homelessness would also be beneficial.

The Role
We are looking for a Supporter Retention Fundraiser to manage direct response fundraising campaigns that inspire supporter loyalty and maximise lifetime value.

• Be hands-on planning & implementing fundraising campaigns using direct mail, email and telephone, building relationships with our supporters.

Key responsibilities

Event & Comms Coordination

• Support the end-to-end coordination of online and in-person events, e.g. setting up online meetings, booking in-person venues, sending invites, collecting feedback. These events include:
  • Skills-based volunteering events that connect the charities we fund with professionals who offer their expertise to help organisations grow.
  • Our Funders Collective events that bring funders together to exchange ideas and explore how funding can drive deeper impact.
  • Showcases aimed to connect the charities we have backed with funders, think tanks and other stakeholders.
• Provide on-hand support to ensure events run smoothly.
• Manage the communications calendar and make sure social media posts are drafted and reviewed on time.

Programmes

• Assist with the smooth delivery of our funding rounds, e.g. updating our CRM (Salesforce), sharing updates with our team of consultants, reviewing feedback provided to grant applicants, coordinating with our Finance Team on grant payments.
• Help the Programme Team with the management of our peer learning and workshops programme, giving charities the skills they need to thrive.
• Support the Programme Team with ad-hoc data collection for impact analysis and reporting.

Organisation-wide support

• Maintain accurate records and ensure our database and task management tools are kept up to date to help the team stay organised.
• Provide flexible administrative support to The Fore team across all areas of work and other projects as required.
• Provide additional administrative or operational support when required, including limited cover for the info and pro bono mailboxes during  periods of leave.

Overall Duties of the Finance Officer – Accounts Payable will include:

• Recording all changes to carer payments on the finance system, on the carer’s purchase ledger account.
• Process carer pay in line with established timescales
• Prepare fee invoices to Local Authorities and other customers
• Manage the processing of children’s savings
• Recording of purchase invoices on the system and process BACS payments to suppliers
• Lead on and review aged creditors report
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monitor unreconciled transactions
• Assist with the monitoring of receipts, remittance and outstanding debtors.

The Finance Officer – Accounts Payable may be homebased within England, Scotland or Wales but will be required to travel for occasional training and team wellbeing events.

Green Alliance is an independent think tank and charity focusing on ambitious decisions for the environment. The finance assistant plays an essential role in maintaining control over our finances and operations.  This role will process and monitor financial transactions, liaise with our payroll bureau regarding staff payroll and pensions and support the head of finance.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a strong financial background with excellent attention to detail, a flexible attitude, an ability to work effectively under their own initiative and as part of a small team, together with excellent organisation and administrative skills.

This is a temporary part-time role for two days a week until the end of March 2026, to start as soon as possible.

Key tasks and responsibilities

To process and monitor financial transactions, perform accounting reconciliations and help ensure that Green Alliance’s finances are accurate and up to date. Duties include the following:

• Prepare sales invoices and credit notes on our accounting system and email to customer. 
• Record purchase invoices and credit notes on accounting /system and allocate to correct expenditure and project codes. Obtain approval of invoices in line with our finance handbook.  Prepare fortnightly invoice payment run and enter to banking system for authorisation.
• Set up new suppliers on accounting system, completing Supplier Information Request forms and undertaking credit checks, where applicable.
• Processing of staff expenses, ensuring compliance with finance handbook, through to payment on banking system.
• Import credit card transactions to accounting system and prepare expense sheets for cardholders.  Once credit card expense sheet completed by credit card holder, agree to receipts and process for payment.
• Process, reconcile and pay monthly payroll run through a bureau.
• Help to prepare quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and the agreed formula for recovery.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations from bank import including allocation of all income and expenses to account codes.

Key Responsibilities:

Video Production

• Lead end-to-end video production: from creative development and storyboarding to filming, editing and delivery:
• Planning and pre-production: Develop the project’s vision, create scripts, manage casting, scout locations, and secure necessary equipment and crew.
• Production: Manage the on-set activities, including the work of the camera crew, sound, and other staff, to ensure the shoot runs smoothly and on schedule.
• Post-production: Edit the footage and deliver the final video, ensuring it aligns with the project's goals and is delivered in the correct format, on time. 
• Film on location at our Houses and events, capturing interviews, b-roll and live action.
• Edit content using Adobe Premiere Pro and other relevant tools (e.g. After Effects, Audition, Photoshop).
• Produce multiple versions of content tailored for different platforms: social media, YouTube, email, website, paid ads.
• Maintain a consistent visual style and tone across all video content, making sure all produced video content is on brand and follows content accessibility best practice.
• Continuously explore new video formats and trends to maximise reach and engagement.
• Work with colleagues in marketing, social media and digital content to help track video performance and apply learnings to future content.
• Use audience insights and performance data to inform video concepts and optimise content for engagement and fundraising outcomes.
• Act as an internal video content expert, own the video production priority schedule, and, using insights, interrogate internal briefs with confidence, where needed, to recommend the best approach.

Project Management

• Own the video production schedule, ensuring timely delivery of all projects.
• Scope, plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and deadlines.
• Maintain a clear archive of raw footage, project files and final assets.
• Show good stewardship and take good care of all equipment. Take responsibility for the insurance renewals, equipment storage, footage archiving and document all existing footage. 

Photography

• Manage internal photography requests: commission freelance photography and curate content for our owned and paid channels.
• In some cases, be able to deliver events and case studies photography. 

Content Management

• Managing the development and implementation of our digital asset manager, Canto, including uploading and categorising content, quality control and producing portals for external access to content, as well as encouraging colleagues from across the Charity to use all it has to offer.
• Permissions and tracking: ensuring all content is tracked, including where last used, any restrictions for use, and consent from the content subjects.
• Maintaining all ‘expiry dates’ of materials, copyright restrictions, etc., and making sure content is removed from channels on applicable dates if appropriate.
• Have ownership of our assets management system, making sure all content is clearly tagged, linked to consent forms, well-organised and searchable. 

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with internal teams to understand briefs, shape ideas and deliver video content that meets objectives.
• Build strong relationships with families, House teams and hospital partners to sensitively and authentically tell their stories.
• Manage approvals and feedback loops with internal stakeholders.

External Partners

• Brief and manage freelance videographers, editors, photographers and production agencies as needed.
• Oversee the production process, making sure the videos are delivered on brief, on time and on budget.
• Oversee quality control and ensure external work aligns with our brand and standards. 

Content Strategy & Channel Adaption

• Spot storytelling opportunities and proactively plan video content aligned with our organisational objectives.
• Work with relevant colleagues to align video content with campaign and channel strategies: social media, paid ads, email, website.
• Optimise content for each platform, ensuring technical specifications and audience expectations are met.
• Support SEO and accessibility best practice in video content. 

Budget & Production Management

• Plan and manage the video production budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery.
• Track spend, process invoices and report on budget usage.

Your focus will be to deliver strong and effective financial management for our Support Directorates, including DDaT (Digital, Data and Technology), Finance and Commercial, and People (HR). You will work closely with Executive Directors and Directors, as well as operational teams to provide senior financial and commercial support, analysis, challenge and advice to enable decision making on a sound financial basis. Developing trusted relationships with the senior management team and budget holders to ensure financial projections, budgets, forecasts, and business cases are robust and aligned with organisational strategy.

Managing a small team and reporting to our Director: Financial Planning and Analysis, key responsibilities will include:

- Work with senior leaders within your specific Directorates to support the preparation of long-term strategic plans, annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts

- Lead the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results to Directors and Executive Directors

- Maintain up to date personal level of financial competence/knowledge, including keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation directly affecting the Charity sector

You will be a fully qualified finance professional with extensive experience in a similar, complex organisation, contributing to strategy, planning, forecasting, budgeting and analysis. You will be an experienced people manager, who is skilled at building strong relationships with and influencing senior management teams, acting as a trusted advisor at all times.

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.
