Save the Children UK is looking for an impact-focused Finance professional with strong knowledge of donor funding and award management to join us as our Portfolio Support Finance Business Partner. 

You'll play a pivotal role working closely with programme teams to ensure restricted funding is planned, managed and reported with integrity, enabling high-impact delivery for children in complex and high-risk environments.

About the role

As Portfolio Support Finance Business Partner, you will provide strategic financial leadership to Save the Children UK's restricted portfolio, ensuring donor funds are planned, monitored and reported effectively, compliantly and sustainably.

You will deliver high-quality financial insight, manage risk, strengthen controls and support confident decision-making, while building strong partnerships across programme and finance teams and representing SCUK Finance in donor and external forums.

In this role, you will:

• Provide financial insight and performance oversight across a portfolio of donor-funded awards, delivering monthly reporting, trend analysis and reviews with programme teams to inform strategic decisions.

• Lead risk management and compliance assurance, maintaining strong financial controls, audit readiness and accurate financial data across systems to safeguard donor funds and maintain confidence.

• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes for donor proposals and awards, ensuring robust financial planning and appropriate direct and indirect cost recovery.

• Oversee cashflow and income management, ensuring timely donor claims, accurate billing (including payment-by-results awards) and sufficient liquidity to support uninterrupted programme delivery.

• Act as a trusted business partner, providing financial expertise in external meetings and strengthening financial literacy across programme teams.

• Contribute to cross-organisational and global finance projects, working with colleagues across Save the Children International to improve systems, processes and controls.

About you

You'll bring a high degree of customer and quality orientation, with the ability to remain solution-focused, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced and changing environment.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• A recognised accounting qualification or equivalent professional experience, ideally within the charity, development or humanitarian sector.

• Strong experience of donor funding, compliance requirements, award or contract management, and financial reporting.

• Proven ability to deliver financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and high-quality management accounts and analysis for senior stakeholders.

• Advanced Excel and strong systems capability, with the confidence to work across multiple finance systems.

• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues and challenge constructively.

• A proactive, resilient and solution-focused approach, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and ethical financial management.

About CoppaFeel!

CoppaFeel! are the UK’s only youth focused breast cancer awareness charity, and we’re on a mission to get every 18-24 year old checking their chest. We educate people on the signs of breast cancer and encourage them to check their chests monthly, so that if they notice something unusual they are empowered to contact their GP and advocate for themselves.

We do this because when diagnosed early, breast cancer treatments are more effective and survival rates are higher. Early detection can save lives.

Breast cancer does not need to be detected late, and as long as we are here and continue to be supported by people like you, we will do all we can to make sure this doesn’t continue to happen.

The Role

CoppaFeel! is looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Officer to help grow our influence in the policy and public affairs space, and ultimately improve outcomes for younger people with breast cancer. 

The Policy and Public Affairs Officer will sit within the CoppaFeel! Policy and Influencing team within the Education department and will work closely with the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager. They will support the implementation of our policy and influencing strategy that aims to build our policy expertise, influence the debate, grow our networks and drive system change. 

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that you will attend the London office 2 days per week (though we are open to flexible arrangements). You will be required to attend the office for quarterly team meetings, department meetings and in person training, we will provide plenty of notice for when you are required to be in for these purposes. 

This is a fixed term contract for 18 months.

Duties and Responsibilities

Advance our policy expertise

• Research policy areas to support CoppaFeel!’s evidence-based policy work
• Monitor key policy developments in breast cancer and younger people
• Stay on top of new external research and data releases

Influence the debate

• Draft policy briefings on key policy issues for younger people with breast cancer
• Contribute to policy debates, e.g. by drafting consultation responses, briefings and statements
• Support the smooth running of policy events, including event organisation, stakeholder mapping and engagement

Reach the right people

• Engage a variety of stakeholders with CoppaFeel!’s work - from policymakers to journalists and other charities
• Support the development and maintenance of relationships with key stakeholders, and maintain CoppaFeel!’s stakeholder database

Drive impact

• Support the implementation of CoppaFeel!’s policy and influencing strategy
• Support and coordinate policy and influencing campaigns
• Measure and report impact of policy and influencing work 

Work across the organisation

• Work with colleagues across CoppaFeel! to ensure policy messages are aligned and embedded across the charity’s work and audiences

ASIF brings together 60 patient organisations across 48 countries to raise awareness, strengthen patient voices and improve understanding of axSpA globally. We are a small, fully remote team who care deeply about the work we do and about working supportively and collaboratively with one another.

We are now looking for an organised, proactive and thoughtful Project Co-ordinator/ Operations Assistant to help us deliver a major international online research study, while also supporting our wider activities.

This is an opportunity to be part of something meaningful - research that will help shape advocacy, awareness and understanding for people living with inflammatory arthritis around the world.

The Role

Your time will be split approximately:

• 70–80% supporting an ambitious international research project·
• 20–30% supporting ASIF’s wider operations

You will work closely with our Project Manager, international member organisations and scientific partners to support all stages of the study, from set-up and ethics submissions through to recruitment, reporting and sharing findings globally.

Alongside this, you’ll help with events, communications and general organisational support, because in a small team, we all contribute where needed.

We're hiring a Support Mentor to join our women's service based in West London. In this role, you will support residents whom reside within our refuge accommodation which includes women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma. We are looking for someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our service in West London. 

As a Support Mentor, you will support in providing a much needed safe space and support for women, for them to feel empowered in their healing journey and feel secure in their independence, strengths, and skills. You will work alongside various stakeholders and partners and engage with our residents through various key working activities to identify the needs, goals and skills, then provide pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to support with successful outcomes. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. 

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Support women and children who may be facing challenges with surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma.
• Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Support residents to achieve their desired goals/outcomes in various ways
• Empower residents to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Supporting residents to build independence and progress in their healing through engaging activities, from movie nights and arts and crafts to brunch club and fully funded day trips.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies
• Work closely with the rest of the team to provide overall excellent service delivery, this may mean also supporting with their caseloads, and other tasks as necessary
• Keep support plans updated on our online portals as appropriate
• Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health, physical health, or other health implications and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent crisis or other risks.

Our Refuge works to support women with complex and enduring needs and women who experience domestic abuse to reclaim their power and find their voice. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves and will work as part of a team to deliver exceptional support to women and children at a particularly challenging time in their lives. 

• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector, particularly around multiple and complex needs
• Experience working with, or a good understanding of, domestic abuse and the systemic barriers faced by women.
• Ability to show empathy and compassion to our residents, and different challenges they face
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals

The Spokesperson Network trains and supports people to speak on television and radio. We are substantially boosting the number of progressive, diverse voices in this space to challenge opposition narratives and boost coverage of underrepresented issues.

The programme works by training, coaching and providing PR booking support for spokespeople from civil society working on social, environmental and economic issues. So far we’ve had over 11,000 high-profile media bookings including Question Time, Newsnight, Good Morning Britain, LBC, Channel 4 News, BBC 5 Live, Today, Sky News and ITV News plus many more.

What you will be doing

Here are the key responsibilities of this role:

• Run two Scotland-based Spokesperson Network Trainings
• Keep on top of the current trends and topics in the Scottish media and political environment
• Seek to book the spokespeople who have been trained into the media - with expectations of providing each person trained with ongoing media opportunities

Hours
