Head of Programmes is a key role with significant scope to grow as the charity evolves. You’ll lead on the day-to-day delivery of our programmes, including our largest single programme, Maths Circles: a small-group-based maths enrichment programme engaging talented young mathematicians nationwide. You will coordinate a large community of volunteers as well as our in-house team of part-time and freelance staff to deliver an excellent experience for students, parents, tutors and partners.

You will need to be genuinely enthusiastic about using our CRM and Google Sheets to track progress and excited about martialling the charity’s data to communicate clearly with colleagues, partners and trustees. You will take ownership of programme reporting and KPIs, using insights to identify and implement delivery improvements and demonstrate impact.

You will communicate regularly with our diverse community – including speaking directly to young people and parents to resolve issues, recruiting and training education professionals and meeting with partners to organise and manage projects. Beyond programme delivery, you’ll play a crucial part in fundraising, communications, recruitment and planning and will occasionally deputise for the Foundation Director in representing the charity externally.

Key Responsibilities

The Role

As Finance Business Partner (Grants), you will play a key role in ensuring robust financial management across a diverse portfolio of grants and contracts. About You

You’ll have a sharp understanding of how accounting operates within large, international organisations and demonstrable experience with institutional donor finance (e.g. FCDO, SIDA, Irish Aid, AFD). Experience working within multi-entity or international grant-funded environments, where collaboration across HQ and field teams is key, will be a strong advantage. You’ll also be confident working within complex reporting environments.

Camp Jojo is currently in transition. Over the first 8 years it has worked from one established site in Mersea, Essex; but we are now opening a second site (Nag’s Head Farm) near Appleby in Cumbria. The role of Volunteer Manager (Nags Head Farm) is to provide the management and administration of the key Volunteer sector of Camp Jojo, and to offer administrative support and feedback to members of the Camp Jojo Board in this regard.

The Volunteer Manager will be responsible for successful initial contact, recruitment, communication with and administration of volunteer for the Nag’s Head Farm camps, through to their successful placement at camp. They will also work closely with the Operations Manager: Families and Site Ops. (Nags Head Farm). They will be guided in their role with the existing managers at Ivy Farm, Mersea, Essex.

The primary task of the Volunteer Manager (Nag’s Head Farm) will be to oversee the whole process of Volunteer applications to camps at Nag’s Head Farm, and to maintain and develop databases in support of this. They will be the contact point for information and support throughout the Nag’s Head Farm volunteers’ pathway with Camp Jojo. In addition, they will attend and minute meetings which concern volunteer management, etc.

They may need to work flexibly; the demands will be seasonal, with many more hours needed through spring and summer than autumn and winter. They will also need to be present for the first day of the camps during the summer, which are mostly during the school holidays. Camp Jojo is a small/medium, but growing charity with a committed team of Trustees, Special Advisors, and Volunteers. This is a chance to contribute to a dynamic organisation and work in a supportive environment. The Contractor will handle clerical and logistics tasks for the organisation in a timely and efficient way. The primary task of the Nags Head Farm: Operations Manager will be to oversee family applications to the camps, and to maintain and develop data bases in support of this. They will hold a key role in relation to communications with the families pre-, during, and post-camps. In addition, they will attend and minute meetings, and contribute to camp operations in planning etc. They may need to work flexibly, according to the seasonal demands of the charity.

The Company seeks an experienced Project Manager to work with our Founder Fiona Laird to manage the Regeneration Theatre Company through its next stages of fundraising and delivery.

This is a newly created part-time, fixed term freelance contract for an experienced, motivated and committed manager.

Key responsibilities

1. Outreach Offer:  To build and develop our Outreach Offer with engaged key delivery partners; to pursue new outreach partner possibilities; and to manage the development of the outreach offer and delivery methods with the Outreach Lead, Principal Actor, and Artistic Director.

2. Fundraising:  To raise funds in conjunction with the Director and freelance Fundraiser, and in particular manage the P/T freelance Fundraiser in planning and delivering donor approaches and fundraising events; any grant applications and other funding opportunities.

3. Donor Network: To maintain positive and appropriately timed communications with current - and incoming -donors and supporters to ensure they remain committed, and develop them as ambassadors for the project.

4. PR and Communications:  To ensure high quality social media and website comms around the project and its activities.

5. Finance & Budgeting: To oversee and develop our Budget and appropriate financial records and reporting requirements for the Outreach delivery, Donors and other funds, in line with the Directors, and our Freelance Accountant; manage cashflow, accounts and all company accounting requirements.

6. Governance: To manage and develop any required Policies and Procedures for the project. To oversee the project in its new governance structure in consultation with the Director.

7. To manage the Project’s P/T freelance Administrator, Outreach Lead and Principal Actor.

The role works to Founder/Director Fiona Laird.

Person Spec

· Proven track record of project managing for a not-for-profit/social enterprise project

· Proven experience managing freelance, part time staff for positive outcomes

· Experience managing budgets and accounting processes

· Experience working with managing Founder/Directors

· An interest in theatre as an instrument for personal and societal positive change

Contract

12 month fixed term contract initially; with mutual review after 6 months.

6/8 days per month TBA. 

Remote working with some in person meetings with the company – and with funding opportunities. £200 - £250 per day. Role has potential to develop dependent on progress of the company.

 About you 

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated Project and Programme Manager with experience of delivering complex and multi-stakeholder programmes on time, and within budget.

You will oversee a portfolio of internally and externally-funded projects focused on the delivery of Ukie’s Supercharged mission. Initially, this is likely to include Ukie’s successful Raise the Game initiative alongside a number of smaller skills-related projects. 

Ideally you will bring: 

• Strong organisational skills with the ability and experience to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and competing priorities. 

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships across teams and with external stakeholders 

• Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills. 

• The ability to work accurately with a good eye for detail. 

• Good knowledge and experience of programme and project management methods and how to apply them. 

• Enthusiastic, with an understanding and sensitivity to the wide range of issues facing the games industry.

What you’ll be doing 

As a Programme Manager, based primarily within the Education team you will also be responsible for leading on the delivery of a range of funded partner projects. Working with colleagues across teams, you will support funding bids for new education and social impact based projects. Should these be successful then you will hold lead responsibility for co-ordinating work with colleagues to ensure successful delivery. 

Key responsibilities  

As Programme Manager you will: 

• Provide programme leadership for our Raise the Game (RTG) initiative. Oversee the end-to-end delivery, ensuring the programme meets its objectives and delivers measurable impact across the UK video games industry.

• Shape the programme’s strategy and roadmap, aligning activities with Ukie’s wider mission and priorities.

• Stakeholder engagement and partnerships. Build and maintain strong relationships with partner organisations, industry leaders, educators and community groups. Act as the key point of contact for all programme stakeholders, championing diversity and inclusion in every interaction. 

• Establish the RTG small grant funding pot and oversee its process for distribution. 

• Plan, co-ordinate and deliver key programme activities, including the annual Festival of Food event. 

• Manage programme budgets and resources effectively, ensuring value for money and long term sustainability.

• Work closely with Ukie’s Communications team to develop and deliver impactful content, case studies and campaigns that amplify our initiatives and increase engagement. 

• Represent Ukie at external events, roundtables and conferences as a visible ambassador. 

• Promote good practice in diversity, equity and inclusion practices across the games sector, influencing industry approaches.

• Co-ordinate working groups and steering committees related to initiatives and projects being managed.

• Work with Ukie colleagues to seek and apply for funding opportunities related to Ukie’s social impact and education work.

• Work with colleagues to design and deliver funded projects. 

• Oversee end to end delivery of individual projects. Managing roles and responsibilities as appropriate.

• Manage project budgets, allocating staff capacity and resources whilst adapting to changing requirements. 

• Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders, ensuring clear and concise communication of progress and managing expectations.

• Monitor project delivery, overseeing progress and ensuring the project meets milestones and quality standards.

This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business.   

The post holder will be expected to participate in this process and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.   

UK People Support Team Lead

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary:£57,415 - £60,436 per annum with excellent benefits

Location: London, UK.

UK hybrid working – at least 40 % of working time is spent face-to-face (London office, external meetings or travel).

The 40% equates to 2 days per week for a full-time employee, one of those days must be a Thursday when the entire UK People Team are office based.

About the role

A key leadership position in the UK, responsible for leading a dynamic and talented team who delivers the highest standards of operational support to WaterAiders in country. The role will need to plan, prioritise, and deliver to a high standard what we promise in order to deliver our ambitious mission.

Responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of UK payroll, pension, and the annual reward process. You will support and coach your team for the development, review and application of UK policies and procedures and be a key stakeholder to our people system Administrator.

You will be working in a matrix environment across the UK People Team and the wider People and Organisational Development function.

In this role, you will:

Team Leadership

• Manage, coach and build the capabilities of the People Support Team, their performance and development in line with our values and people promise.
• Expertise and ownership of UK People Team policies, processes and procedures, ensuring that they meet legislative requirements, are fit for purpose and in line with best practice and organisational priorities under the umbrella of our employee value proposition.
• Lead the delivery of the programme of work so that service standards at met, solutions are pragmatic and driven by our values, minimising risk.

Payroll, Pension and Reward

• Accountable for the delivery of the UK monthly payroll and pension processes, providing oversight and support to the work of the in-house Payroll Officer and being a back-up to their role, to ensure payroll is run accurately each month.
• Implement the annual pay award operationally ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of payment to all UK based staff.
• Implementation of a new payroll system for the UK.

Systems and Reporting

• Primary super user in the UK of HR Information System, PeoplePlace, ensuring effective and efficient use of the system. Responsible that the country's employee data is correct and in compliance with data protection.
• Drive the importance of data and people analytics and create a culture of data-based decision-making and insight across the team.
• Ownership of maintaining the monthly UK headcount establishment data with key stakeholders in Finance.
• Annual analysis and statutory reporting of the Pay Gap in the UK.

Compliance and Contract Management

• Act as the UK Team specialist on areas of HR compliance, working with 3rd parties and specialist advisors, to ensure that our policies, processes and practices are compliant and meet legal requirements.
• Responsible for data protection in the People Team, provide senior expertise and build capability across the wider people function.

Other

• Ownership of salary calculations in the event of employee termination and/or redundancy.
• Monthly payroll and pension sign off.
• Budget management and invoice approval.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

Functional skills

• Proven experience in leading, managing and developing a high-performing people operations team in a matrix, fast-paced organisation.
• Proven experience in managing and running in-house payroll for at least 250 staff or more.
• Excellent understanding of HR policy development; and proven experience in developing and embedding HR policies, processes and procedures that are fit for purpose.
• A qualified and robust HR Practitioner who has sound and up-to-date knowledge of employment law, tax and legislative requirements affecting a wide spectrum of HR policies and practice, i.e. payroll, pension, reward and benefits, together with their application in the context of the employee experience.
• Working knowledge and experience of HR and Payroll systems, to maximise the functionality and create efficiencies.
• Demonstrate project management capability.
• Proven experience in contract management and managing a wide range of third-party service providers.

Personal qualities

• A self-starter who is focused on delivery and execution: proactive in bringing solutions and recommendations to resolve problems and continuously improve HR practices.
• Able to navigate uncertainty and ambiguity: comfortable working at pace. Resilient and able to work under pressure.

Desirable capabilities

• Degree-level education or equivalent.
• Associate (or higher) membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or equivalent work experience.
• An interest in and/or knowledge of development issues and the work of INGOs.
