The TUC is looking for a Policy Lead to contribute to our policy development and data analysis across areas including employment rights, labour market and pensions policy

This position has been created to boost the TUC’s policy capacity at a time of significant shifts in the UK labour market. The role will support our response to various new legislation and a rapidly changing economy.

It will suit someone who has highly developed data analysis skills, who is comfortable applying this experience to policy areas including labour markets and pensions.  

What key experience, skills, knowledge and understanding do you need?

 You will need:

• Experience in analysis of primary and secondary data related to labour market trends and living standards
• Experience initiating and carrying through quantitative research projects
• Confident skills in evaluating and communicating a range of data sources from legal material to quantitative data, and using evidence to inform policy development

What you’ll be doing
As Finance Manager (Transformation), you will:

4. Develop key comms messaging for Stour Trust's social media platforms.

5. Support copy and narrative writing for the organisation's mission areas..

6. Support Stour Trust's three strategic project areas: Land & Spatial Justice, Racial & Economic Justice and Policy.

7. Develop project delivery frameworks and timelines to support clear accountability and communication for projects, using project management tools

8. Develop simple pitch decks, posters, case studies and proposals for partners or collaborators and manage sub-contractors as needed.

9. Support key partnerships and relationships keeping the team up to date on key events.

10. Attend relevant in-person and virtual meetings and sessions to support the team.

11. Manage a small budget in relation to projects including website development.

12. Support other areas of Stour Trust's work.

About the role:

Working as a partner between finance and IT, the Systems Accountant will join Parkinson’s UK at a pivotal time of investment in their finance systems and processes. You will play a key part in supporting and managing finance system upgrades, implementations, and developments, liaising across key stakeholder groups to ensure that the finance systems are optimised to meet business needs, enhance financial reporting and drive efficiency across the business.

What you’ll do:

• Support the implementation, development, and continuous improvement of financial systems.
• Collaborate with finance and IT teams to ensure smooth system integration and data accuracy.
• Assist in configuring and testing new financial systems or system enhancements.
• Troubleshoot system issues, liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Develop reports and dashboards to enhance financial reporting and decision-making.
• Train finance teams and end-users on new systems and best practices.
• Ensure financial controls and compliance requirements are embedded in system workflows.
• Support month-end and year-end processes by ensuring system efficiency and data integrity.
• Document system processes and procedures for future reference.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong experience in developing or improving financial systems
• CCAB part-qualified or qualified accountant
• Experience in supporting the implementation and maintenance of finance systems
• Ability to or experience of developing financial reports suited to stakeholder needs within finance systems
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

This role is offered on a permanent full-time basis paying a salary between £47,000 to £57,000 per annum with flexible hybrid working arrangements at their London or York office with regular UK business travel and occasional overnight stays.

The post holder will drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. They will develop high value six and seven figure fundraising relationships, primarily with the private sector, but also with HNWI in the future, bringing on board new supporters. They will work closely with the fundraising account management team to ensure effective handovers, and with the bid writer, to maximise opportunities with trust and foundation income. They will operate nationally but will also be able to develop place-based relationships and partnerships.

They are looking for a natural new business fundraiser, someone who is passionate about fundraising with the ability to spot opportunities to grow partnerships. They are looking for a candidate with a demonstrable track record of partnering with corporates, HNWIs, and foundations to secure six or seven figure donations over multiple years. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership for identifying opportunities for new funds and contributing to the overall fundraising strategy of the organisation.
