The Operations Manager is a new leadership position that will play a pivotal role in the delivery of FFLAG’s operations which span online, offline, and local group support for parents and carers of LGBT+ loved ones. We also want you to bring experience of fundraising to help ensure we stay financially secure for the long term.

About FFLAG

FFLAG is a national voluntary organisation and registered charity and is the UK’s longest established parent support charity in the LGBT+ sector. Our history began in the grassroots parent helplines of the 1960s, grew through the 1980’s and 90’s as we supported anxious parents and fought against the discrimination of Section 28, becoming a formally registered charity in 2000.

Our work sounds simple, but it is life changing. We help parents and families understand, accept and support their LGBT+ family members with love and pride.

We offer a range of support options spanning 121 online and helpline support services, to a UK-wide monthly group Zoom meeting and face to face local groups. We also have an extensive collection of online resources and guides.  We attend as many Pride events as we can and our work supports thousands of families every year. This support is provided by an active base of FFLAG volunteers who are parents of LGBT+ children themselves, supported by other volunteers and allies. 

In addition to our support work, FFLAG advocates for the full human and civil rights of LGBT+ individuals. FFLAG speaks out and acts to defend and enhance those human and civil rights. 

What this job is all about

Simply put, as Operations Manager you will ensure the charity's activities are effective, sustainable, and aligned with our mission to support families with LGBT+ members

Reporting directly to the Chair, working closely with the Board of Trustees and supported by a part-time Volunteer Engagement & Events Coordinator you will:

• Lead and supervise the daily operational functions, ensuring smooth and compliant delivery of services.
• Lead fundraising activities, including grant applications, donor stewardship, and partnership development.
• Manage and support staff and volunteers, nurturing a positive, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
• Support the Trustees to ensure compliance with all relevant UK charity legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g., Charity Commission, safeguarding, risk management, data protection).
• Collaborate with the Chair and Board of Trustees to develop and implement strategic plans, with clear KPIs and measurable outcomes.

What else might you be involved in?

Because this is a new role we expect to learn together about what additional activities you can support us with beyond the key priorities mentioned above.  This could include helping us to: 

• Monitor and report on operational performance, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.
• Oversee financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring resources are used efficiently and transparently.
• Oversee communications and stakeholder engagement, including public relations, digital presence including website and social media, and community outreach.
• Act as an ambassador for FFLAG at events, forums, and in collaborative partnerships.

What are the skills and attributes you will need to be successful?

As the most senior employed position in the charity, we need an experienced operational leader that can grow with us. You will be self-motivated and enjoy working independently without the need for close supervision.  

In terms of specific areas of skill or experience we are looking for people who can demonstrate previous experience of:

• Operational Leadership: Demonstrable experience in a senior operations role, ideally within the charity or voluntary sector.
• Fundraising: Experience supporting or leading fundraising campaigns and developing income streams.
• Governance: Knowledge of UK charity governance and regulatory compliance.
• People Management: Confident in leading, motivating, and developing a small team and volunteers.
• Commitment to Inclusion: Passionate about equality, diversity, and supporting the LGBT+ community and their families.

As an experienced leader we would also expect you to have:

• Financial Acumen: Proven ability to manage charity finances, budgets, and reporting processes.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to represent the organisation externally.
• Strategic Thinking: Able to translate vision into actionable plans and execute effectively.
• Problem Solving: Resourceful, adaptable, and solution-oriented approach to challenges.
• Digital Skills: Comfortable with digital tools and platforms, social media, and remote/hybrid work practices.

About the Role

Young Roots is looking for an experienced and creative Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser to play a key role in securing income that transforms the lives of young refugees and asylum seekers. This is a rewarding role leading Trusts and Foundations income generation with structured support from the Head of Fundraising and Development. This role is home-based with mobile working. There will be a requirement to attend in-person team meetings based in the area on a quarterly basis and other parts of the UK when our wider fundraising territory and department get together.

As the Training and Support Worker, you'll engage with schools, colleges, community settings and employers, delivering training, supporting implementation, and empowering neurodivergent young people into sustainable employment. You'll play a key role in developing the programme through partner insight and keeping up with best practice in workplace neuroinclusion. 

You will be required to travel regularly to deliver face-to-face training within schools, colleges, community settings and workplaces across Yorkshire.

Role Overview
As an Individual Giving Executive, you will project manage a range of Individual Giving campaigns within the Development & Stewardship team. The role focuses on cash appeals, raffles, newsletters and supporter journeys across various channels including direct mail, telephone and digital.

Key Responsibilities

· To manage the day to day running of individual giving campaigns; including campaign planning, overseeing creative development, liaising with key stakeholders, co-ordinating print and production, monitoring and analysing results and feeding back to agencies.

· To assist with the analysis, evaluation and reporting of campaigns, drawing conclusions and making recommendations for future activity.

· To manage the invoicing process and campaign income and expenditure.

· To assist in the selection and sign off of data for all direct marketing campaigns managed.

· To assist with planning of yearly marketing plans & strategy.

Person Specification

· Experience of managing a range of direct marketing campaigns within a fundraising environment.

· Familiarity with marketing databases and the ability to conduct analysis using Excel.

· Ability to schedule and prioritise workloads effectively

· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

· Ability to assess creative work, write/edit copy and feedback edits in a constructive manner

ABOUT VIDERE

Videre is an award-winning, UK-registered NGO that exposes human rights abuses and holds perpetrators to account. We work directly with communities in stressed environments, equipping networks of activists and community leaders with the technology and training necessary to safely capture visual documentation of political violence, human rights violations, and other systemic abuses. Our aim is to ensure that the concerns and knowledge of affected communities drive advocacy, policy, and legal action. We currently have teams and partners in six countries and support staff in three further countries.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Manager is a critical role within Videre, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. The postholder will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Videre’s security risk management framework and processes. The role supports Videre’s own project teams as well as the work we do with partners, which includes training and accompaniment on human rights documentation and the security risk management necessary to do this work safely. The Security Manager will play a key role in strengthening organisational resilience, preparedness, and security culture across multiple countries and complex operating environments.

LOCATION

Nairobi, Kampala or Bangkok preferred. Remote applicants will be considered. Approximately 20 days travel per year expected.

COMPENSATION

Salary is dependent on location. The UK-equivalent salary from £55,000 to £60,000, plus pension contribution, will be converted using ICSC scales.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Security Risk Management

• Maintain and continuously improve Videre’s Security Risk Management framework, ensuring effective implementation across all operations.
• Lead the safety and security elements of the organisational Risk Register held by the Chief Operating Officer, ensuring senior leadership is regularly informed of key risks and mitigation strategies.
• Conduct regular Security Risk Assessments, in collaboration with relevant managers and teams, covering programme operations, partner locations, and other identified risk areas.
• Develop, maintain, and oversee the implementation of Safety and Security Management Plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring staff are appropriately briefed and familiar with their content.

Preparedness, Monitoring & Incident Response

• Lead scenario planning and preparedness activities for safety and security risk management.
• Provide proactive, practical safety security management advice, guidance and support to teams and partners.
• Lead the crisis management response to security incidents as required.
• Monitor security contexts, analyse trends, and share relevant information to support informed decision-making.

Training, Capacity Building & Culture

• Design and deliver security risk management training and capacity-building resources for staff and partners.
• Foster and embed a strong organisational security culture, promoting shared responsibility for safety and risk awareness.

External Engagement

• Manage Videre’s participation in security-related consortiums and networks, including the Global Interagency Security Forum.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Fluency in written and spoken English and French.
• An understanding of risk management methodologies and experience applying them across multi-country teams.
• Experience in executing complex and sensitive security management responses.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, verbally and in writing.

Job Purpose:

Background

Pesticide Action Network UK (PAN UK) is the only charity in the UK focused solely on tackling the problems caused by pesticides and promoting safe and sustainable alternatives in agriculture, urban areas, homes and gardens. It is an independent, non-profit organisation, which works nationally and internationally to eliminate the use of the most hazardous pesticides, reduce dependence on pesticides overall, and to increase the adoption of sustainable alternatives to chemical pest control.

Our Head of Policy & Campaigns leads our work in the UK which aims to better protect both the environment and human health from pesticide harms. Through policy work, lobbying, research, media and strategic communications, we aim to influence a range of decision makers, from the UK government and devolved administrations to local councils and the country’s biggest supermarkets. The role also includes working alongside PAN UK’s Director to secure funding to cover the UK team’s salaries, overheads and activities. It is an incredibly varied role, involving everything from leading on strategy development for the UK team while also being intricately involved in writing and editing publications and executing other activities such as events and mobilising the public.

The Head of Policy & Campaigns is part of PAN UK’s Senior Management Team (along with our Director, Head of Finance and Governance and Head of International Programmes) which sets the direction of the organisation and ensures it is well-managed and delivering on our mission. 

Specific responsibilities

1.       Advocacy, policy and campaigning

• Lead the UK team in developing advocacy strategies, and fully utilising opportunities to make progress towards achieving PAN UK’s mission.

• Conduct high quality research and analysis aimed at influencing decision makers. Ensure it is presented in a way which is both technically accurate and compelling.

• Develop and/or maintain expertise in pesticide policy with the aim of being able to represent PAN UK credibly in a range of external fora.

• Build relationships with a wide range of decision makers including government ministers and civil servants, parliamentarians, devolved administrations, local councils and supermarkets.

• Ensure that the organisation’s policy positions on UK pesticide issues are clear, well thought out and will lead to positive change.

2.       Communications

• Secure media coverage for PAN UK outputs, including writing press releases and liaising with journalists. Provide written quotes for media outlets and give interviews for radio and TV.

• Write materials including policy reports, political briefings and public-facing communications such as blogs and supporter emails. Edit and sign off all outputs from the UK team, ensuring they are both well-written and accurate.

• Raise sufficient funds to cover the UK team’s salaries, activity costs and contribution to organisational overheads.

Job summary:

The Head of Communications, Marketing & Digital is responsible for shaping, delivering, and evaluating the charity’s communications, brand, digital engagement, and marketing activity.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising & Communications, the postholder plays a pivotal role in growing the charity’s profile, strengthening engagement, and ensuring all communication channels, platforms and content are effective, accessible, and aligned with organisational goals.

In a small charity, this is both a strategic and hands-on role, requiring creativity, strong digital skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key responsibilities and duties:

1. Communications & brand

• Lead the delivery of the charity’s communications strategy to increase visibility, trust and engagement.
• Manage and protect the charity’s brand, ensuring consistency of messaging, tone, and visual identity.
• Oversee and produce high-quality content for website, newsletters, reports, blogs, case studies, and information materials.
• Support the Director in developing campaigns that unite messaging, fundraising, marketing, and advocacy.

2. Marketing & supporter engagement

• Lead marketing activity to grow audiences, increase engagement, increase participation in our services, and support fundraising objectives.
• Work closely with colleagues to create compelling campaign assets, supporter journeys, and integrated marketing plans.
• Develop marketing materials, key messages, and digital assets that support awareness, engagement, service numbers and income growth.

3. Digital leadership

• Oversee the charity’s digital ecosystem, including website, email marketing, social media and CRM integrations.
• Ensure digital content is accessible, user-focused, streamlined and optimised for engagement and conversion.
• Fully review website development and maintenance, including UX improvements, analytics, SEO, and content.
• Oversee data-led insights and dashboards to measure digital performance and inform decision-making.

4. Media & public relations

• Build media relationships and respond to press requests in coordination with the Director.
• Draft press releases, statements, Q&As, and key messages for external audiences.
• Support reactive and crisis communications, ensuring timely, accurate responses and reputational protection.

5. Internal communication & collaboration

• Support effective internal communication, ensuring staff team, Program Facilitators and volunteers are informed and engaged.
• Work collaboratively across teams to gather stories, insights, and content that bring the charity’s work to life.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues on communications, brand, and digital best practice.

6. Other

• Manage agency and supplier relationships where relevant.
• Stay informed about sector trends and emerging tools that could benefit the charity.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential experience

• Significant experience in communications, marketing and digital roles, preferably within a charity or mission-driven organisation.
• Proven track record of developing and delivering digital and communications content across multiple platforms to multiple audiences.
• Experience managing websites, CRM systems, email marketing tools, and social media channels.
• Demonstrable experience in audience engagement, digital analytics, and campaign performance measurement.
• Experience in managing a brand profile across different audiences and different products, ensuring consistency and authority over time.
• Hands-on experience creating accessible and compelling written, visual, and digital content.
• Experience working with agencies, freelancers, or creative suppliers.

Contract:  12-month fixed-term contract

Salary:  £60,000 per annum 

Location: Home-based with regular travel

Blue Cross is seeking an experienced and ambitious Head of Philanthropy to lead and make an active contribution to our High Value Fundraising project, a key initiative designed to grow our future income. This 12-month fixed-term role will focus on delivering high-impact fundraising activity while managing and inspiring a talented Philanthropy team. 

More about the role

You will support in the delivery of the 2026 Philanthropy plan across trusts, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals, with a particular focus on the High Value Fundraising project. Leading high-value fundraising activity, you will manage your own portfolio, create income pipelines, develop key performance indicators, and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to maximise philanthropic support. You will ensure the charity’s Case for Support remains current and compelling and deliver high-standard donor reporting. 

This is a home-based role with a contracted base site. Travel to your base site is considered normal commuting, while travel to other Blue Cross locations or partner sites will be reimbursed.

You are a credible senior leader with a strong track record in philanthropy fundraising, capable of translating strategic priorities into tangible outcomes. Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience 

• Extensive experience developing strategies that increase income from major donors and institutional funders, including personally securing five- and ideally six-figure donations 
• Proven experience of meeting and exceeding ambitious income growth targets 
• Experience of building and managing funder relationships 
• Strong financial monitoring, target setting, and reporting skills 
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to analyse and present data tailored for different audiences 
• Highly developed influencing and negotiation skills 
• Track record of leading, managing, and inspiring a team, encouraging innovation and improving ways of working 
• Experience working at senior organisational levels and managing relationships with Directors, CEOs, and Boards 
• The ability to demonstrate, understand, and apply Blue Cross’s values 

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience 

• Experience of fundraising for significant capital projects 
• Knowledge of CRM systems and data management
