Purpose of the role: 

To facilitate training workshops for kinship carers across England, as part of the national training team, through an annual programme of Kinship roadshows and in-person and online workshops. 

To contribute to the continual development and improvement of the Kinship training programme by developing new content and refining existing materials in line with insight, data, and feedback from kinship carers. 

This role is home-based with frequent travel across England

Key responsibilities include:

• Co-facilitate professional, high-quality training to kinship carers in England.

• Experience managing challenging or sensitive situations during training while maintaining clear boundaries, using Kinship's safeguarding framework where necessary.

• Ensure training is accessible, inclusive, and adapted to meet the diverse needs of participants.

• Meet training KPIs, including participants reporting they feel better supported (90%) and have increased understanding of the subject (80%).

• Contribute to the continuous development of training resources using insights, data, and feedback from kinship carers.

• Maintain a consistent and engaging approach across all training experiences.

• Use Salesforce effectively as the case management system to support training delivery, learning, and evaluation.

• Demonstrate confident and frictionless use of Zoom, including breakout rooms and interactive tools, to deliver engaging online training sessions.

• Actively support and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive, and supportive team environment.

Essential knowledge, abilities, skills and experience includes:

• Substantial experience delivering engaging online and in-person training and workshops for diverse audiences.

• Proven experience in professional facilitation using a range of techniques to engage participants.

• Demonstrable expertise using Zoom (including breakout rooms and tools) and PowerPoint to deliver high-quality training.

• Experience managing challenging or sensitive situations during training while maintaining clear boundaries.

• Proven ability to deliver training that achieves measurable impact and learning outcomes.

• Demonstrated use of a non-judgemental approach reflected in both language and behaviour.

• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with high attention to detail.

About the role
 
In this UK-based role, with oversight of a £15m budget, we are looking for a strong, corporate business leader operating at a senior level to help take the Cystic Fibrosis Trust forward on our exciting journey towards a life unlimited by cystic fibrosis and optimising our finance and resources to deliver maximum impact for people with cystic fibrosis.
 
You will lead and develop a high performing multidisciplinary team of Heads including Finance, IT, Facilities, People and Organisation Development and Company Secretariat functions as well as work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Trustees and other internal and external stakeholders.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:

• Financial leadership of the Trust’s financial management strategy and statutory reporting and audit processes as well as reporting to our Boards and Committees.
• Digital & information systems: Lead IT and Digital development and implementation strategies, including delivery of the new CRM replacement going live in 2026 (MS Dynamics)
• People & Organisational development: Lead best practice in our people management strategies, policies and practices as well as championing diversity and inclusion and staff learning and development.
• Business planning: Support organisational business planning and strategy development working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees and including out other internal and external stakeholders including people with cystic fibrosis.

To be the right person for this role, some of the requirements you will need to meet include:

• Proven ability to operate at a Director/Board level and as a senior leadership team member; backed up with strong experience and a proven track record as a Director of Finance.
• To be a qualified accountant (CCAB recognised or equivalent) with minimum five years post-qualification experience and ongoing CPD.
• Proven high level financial management skills and experience of developing and delivering business and financial strategies and managing complex budgets and financial modelling.
• Proven experience of directing, leading and developing multi-disciplinary teams and working with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrable up-to-date working knowledge of charity law including SORP, charity governance, employment law/HR best practice, Data Protection (GDPR), and strong understanding of IT systems and facilities management.
• Demonstrable strong analytical and communication skills; ability to balance strategic perspective with operational delivery and experience of working in a changing organisation operating in a changing external environment for the not-for-profit sector.
• Able to travel for work and/or work occasional unsocial hours if required.

We focus on providing evidence based and insightful research, training and consultancy to a range of different stakeholders within the transport and planning sectors. Our work seeks to change the culture of transport and street design in the long term. The charity is rapidly scaling up, recently doubling its annual support to £6 million. Degrees has partnered with leading climate change funders and research partners including the Quadrature Climate Foundation, Open Philanthropy, Crankstart, Navigation Fund, Outlier Projects, LAD Climate Fund and UK Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA). Transparency of funding is essential to our work. We do not accept support from anonymous donors or funding from the fossil fuel industry. Fundraising for the organisation has been led by the Founder and CEO, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief of Staff, and the Chair of the Trustees with the support of an experienced Senior Philanthropy Advisor.

We now seek a full-time team member to build on this base. Reporting to the COO, and working closely with senior staff and the Chair, the Development Manager will support high‑performing fundraising that secures multi‑year, diversified funding. He / she will also introduce robust processes for pipeline management and donor stewardship and manage the complete donor lifecycle (from identification to cultivation to solicitation and stewardship) of a portfolio of top prospects. The post holder will receive initial onboarding support from the Senior Philanthropy Advisor. As fundraising grows, the team may expand in the future.

Initial priorities include expansion beyond the current donor pool, with a strong push to identify and engage new funders, and putting in place the systems (CRM, reporting cadence, key performance indicators) to support growth at scale.

As this is a new role, responsibilities are expected to evolve but some key items will include: 

Strategy & planning 

• Work with the CEO, Chief of Staff, COO, Senior Philanthropy Advisor, programme staff and the Chair of the Trustees to help develop and implement a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with organisational objectives;

Pipeline development & new opportunities 

• Manage the fundraising pipeline, guiding the ongoing fundraising activities of senior staff and the Chair;
• Research and identify new funding opportunities from trusts and foundations, government funders, and multilateral donors in the development and climate sectors on an ongoing basis;
• Reach out to networks of donor advisors and established relationships for referrals;

Grant writing 

• Draft and coordinate the preparation and submission of grant proposals;

Donor stewardship & reporting

• Maintain excellent relations with existing funders by keeping them informed on charity and sector updates, inviting them to events, and ensuring the delivery of annual reports and notices;
• Ensure and manage ongoing formal grant reporting on behalf of the organisation;

Events & engagement 

• Often working with partners, plan and deliver fundraising events for existing and potential funders, particularly in the UK and US;
• Manage invitation lists, track attendance and ensure bespoke follow–up to attendees;
• Assist in the design of events that will inspire and engage funders while involving Southern experts in the Degrees research community;

Processes, systems & administration

• Create and implement structured processes across the entire fundraising and donor lifecycle;
• Develop and track KPIs, providing regular reports to senior staff and the Trustees;

High Value Officer

The High Value Officer for our Fundraising team will focus and lead on supporting the Trusts and Major Donor teams with postal and electronic mailings; keeping the CRM up to date; supporting the Prospects Research Manager with initial research, identifying new opportunities and sources of funding; streamlining administrative systems and processes; creating purchase orders and invoices; supporting the Major Donor Manager with administration of the Mid Value pool.

This is a great junior role, offering opportunities in several High Value fundraising teams. You will get to use your administrative skills across a range of activities and also develop your research skills when looking at prospects and supporting the Corporate team in their due diligence work.

You will: 

1. With support from the MD Manager, lead on the day-to-day running of our Mid Value programme including administration and delivery of a calendar of activity

2. Support the team with various CRM system processes, and ensure records are accurately updated

3. Support the Prospect Research Manager to identify new opportunities and sources of funding

4. Streamline and manage electronic folders

5. Create purchase orders and invoices

As Finance & Operations Manager at the Foyer Federation, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and building our finance and administrative functions at an operational and strategic level. Specific responsibilities:

1. Deliver specialist, trauma-informed support to a case load of adults and families, recognising the impact of domestic or sexual abuse, harm or violence, and responding with empathy, respect, and consistency. #

5. Receive referrals into the service and carry out Initial Contact Assessments collaboratively, identifying the most suitable support options based on individual needs and preferences. Complete risk assessments and develop risk management plans, including the SafeLives DASH risk indicator and safety planning. 

6. Work closely with the team to manage and maintain the outreach waiting list, ensuring timely updates, regular contact, and effective triage for individuals. 

7. Work in partnership with individuals to identify support goals and outcomes, co-developing and regularly reviewing needs assessments, risk assessments, and support/safety plans 

8. Provide clear advocacy, signposting and referrals to internal and external services, guided by the individual’s expressed needs, interests, and readiness —such as social services, police, parenting support, health, legal advice, DWP, housing, education, recreation, and Cyfannol’s internal services (e.g. group work, sexual violence services, counselling). 

9. Build and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with external agencies, and attend multidisciplinary meetings to promote the needs and rights of individuals through trust and partnership.

10. Maintain factual, person-centred, accurate, timely, and confidential records of all casework and service activity, using Cyfannol’s Case Management System and other internal records 

11. Contribute to audits and reporting, engaging positively supporting service evaluation and development and recognising the value of reflective learning and continuous development.

12. Encourage and support adults and children to have a voice within Cyfannol and the wider sector, for example by completing surveys, sharing feedback, and participating in relevant events

Purpose of the post: Assist in the delivery of specialised, holistic support to adults and families who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse, harm and violence
Specific responsibilities

Assist in the delivery of specialist, trauma-informed support to adults and/or families living in refuge recognising the impact of domestic or sexual abuse, harm or violence, and responding with empathy, respect, and consistency.

Contribute to an environment where support is psychologically informed, compassionate, equitable, and grounded in integrity—where every individual feels safe, heard, and supported.

Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and organisational policies, maintaining a trauma-informed, reporting concerns to your line manager without delay

Carry out Initial Contact Assessments, working alongside refuge or on call colleagues identifying together which support options best meet the individual's needs and preferences, prioritising need and risk

Support individuals to access refuge, including arranging transport if needed, offering a warm and respectful welcome, meeting immediate needs (e.g. donated clothing, food), and helping them settle into their accommodation.

Assist individuals in understanding and completing initial paperwork in a timely and supportive manner, including licence agreements, House Expectations, housing benefit claims, and service charge arrangements.

Undertake basic support activities, as requested by a Support Worker or senior colleague, in line with an individual’s support plan, needs assessment, risk assessment, safety plan and licence agreement/contract

Support individuals to maintain their licence/contract agreement through reflective, strengths-based conversations around any minor breaches, and escalating serious concerns to senior colleagues.

Keep Routes to Support updated with current refuge vacancies to support access and referrals

Facilitate opportunities for connection and community among residents, including inclusive evening and weekend communal activities.

Ensure contributions to records are factual, person-centred, accurate, timely, and confidential, using Cyfannol’s Case Management System and other internal records.

Encourage and support adults and children to have a voice within Cyfannol and the wider sector, for example by completing surveys, sharing feedback, and participating in relevant events
Assist in providing the organisation’s out of hours response: 

• Respond to all out of hours phone calls from the Live Fear Free Helpline, other refuges or Tier 2 and 3 on call colleagues across Cyfannol ensuring effective communication and continuity of support across the team.
• Undertake assessments for refuges, with support from on-call colleagues, to make timely and safe decisions based on individual need and risk.
• Provide support to colleagues and residents in the event of an incident or emergency at another refuge, contributing to a coordinated and calm response.
• Liaise with 2nd and 3rd tier colleagues as needed, ensuring effective communication and continuity of support across the team.
• Complete handovers at the end of each shift, both face to face and via email, to ensure consistency, safety and shared understanding across the team.

Housing Management:

Contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming, clean, and calm refuge environment that supports wellbeing and dignity.

Carry out routine monitoring of CCTV and security systems to help maintain a secure setting for residents and staff.

Complete and record daily and weekly health and safety checks as directed by the Facilities Coordinator, ensuring refuge spaces meet required standards.

Ensure communal areas are safe and secure before the start of sleep-in shifts, creating a settled environment for the night.
Report repairs and maintenance issues promptly, liaising directly with landlords or housing associations, and involving the Facilities Coordinator when needed.

Provide access to contractors attending the building and monitor their presence to ensure safety and accountability.
Advise line manager of any needs relating to furnishings, equipment, or refuge infrastructure.

Monitor stock levels of consumables and first aid supplies, supporting the ordering process as needed.

Support Cyfannol’s carbon reduction goals by switching off lights and equipment not in use and promoting sustainable practices.

Ensure recycling and refuse are ready for collection on designated days, and support residents to engage with these routines.

Clean private bedrooms/flats between occupancies as promptly as possible to prepare for Routes to Support listings.

Wash and change bed linen, towels, cot bedding, and similar items between occupancies to maintain hygiene and comfort.

Clean communal areas when necessary to uphold standards and minimise health and safety risks, including monitoring residents’ recycling and refuse removal.

Facilitate ‘motivational cleaning’ activities with residents when appropriate, using a strengths-based and non-judgmental approach.

Liaise with community neighbours when necessary, seeking guidance from your line manager to ensure respectful and constructive communication

This is a part-time (4 days per week) position, working from home, with regular travel across North East & Cumbria and to London. The post holder must live in the North East or Cumbria.

You’ll be the face of the Foundation in the area, able to build strong and trusting relationships and be an advocate for community organisations across the patch. You’ll have a good understanding of the operating environment in the North East & Cumbria with well-established networks across the patch. You will also play a pivotal role in sharing learning, intelligence and insights to ensure the Foundations’ strategy development, delivery and relationship with the Lloyds Banking Group considers regional needs and the operating context of our funded partners.
