The Head of Syria and Iraq Detention Project is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s work on detention cases in North East Syria (NES) and Iraq.
There are currently thousands of people indefinitely detained in camps in North East Syria, in conditions the UN has described as “deplorable and inhumane”. Others have been transferred to Iraq or Assad-controlled Syria, where they have faced torture and the death penalty without anything resembling due process.
Reprieve’s Syria and Iraq Projects aim to ensure that individuals detained in Syria and Iraq are treated in line with international law, and not subjected to the death penalty, extrajudicial execution, arbitrary detention, torture or rendition. We also aim to challenge and change flawed ‘war on terror’ narratives and legal and political frameworks – including in the UK, Europe and the US – that engender state-sanctioned discrimination and abuse and undermine the rule of law and human rights.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies using a dynamic approach in which each of Reprieve’s methodologies—casework, investigation, litigation, political and public engagement, outreach and support for affected communities—connect with one another in pursuit of saving clients’ lives and addressing structural rights violations. You are an experienced campaigner and advocate, with significant legal, casework or litigation experience and strong writing skills. You have demonstrated experience leading teams and managing a complex portfolio of cases.

Safeguarding Manager
London (currently flexible/remote working. Meetings in London required)
RNID has undergone – and continues to undergo – major transformation as it seeks to grow awareness and support of its brand and be recognised as a modern, agile and relevant charity fit for the challenges and opportunities of the Twenty First Century.
An integral part of this is the changing shape and make-up of our service delivery as we move away from regulated care and develop new ways to deliver our important work. RNID is committed to ensuring that safeguarding is at the heart of this change and that all those who come into contact with our services – especially children and those at risk – are kept safe and their health, wellbeing and rights are protected.
The Safeguarding Manager will report to the Deputy Chief Executive and will lead and oversee RNID’s safeguarding processes and strategy. This will include ensuring that safeguarding is built into the design phase of new services and as the organisation continues to change. The role will also oversee safeguarding governance arrangements including triaging, reporting internally/externally and reporting to the Executive and Board. It will provide advice and guidance to stakeholders across the organisation on all complex and serious incidents.
Given the changes to the organisation, it is expected that this role and its context will evolve over the next 12-18 months. The post holder will have an important role in helping design and shape the role during this period.
Communication is a basic human need. Yet most of us know someone who struggles to communicate through hearing loss. It can cause substantial harm to friendships, family relationships, confidence, employability, mental health and life chances.
The RNID (formerly Action on Hearing Loss) is the UK’s largest charity for the 11 million people in the UK who confront deafness, tinnitus and hearing loss every day. Established in 1911, we help people to take control of their lives and live the life they choose, removing the barriers standing in their way. We give people support and care, develop technology and treatments, and campaign for equality.
We champion the value of difference and equality and celebrate our diverse and inclusive workforce. We actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from BAME backgrounds or who are deaf or hard of hearing. With almost 20% of our employees having a disability we proudly hold Disability Confident Leader status and guarantee an interview for disabled applicants meeting the minimum essential criteria.
Prospectus is delighted to be partnering with Turn2Us to appoint their new Director of Income and External Affairs. Turn2us gives people the information and support they need in the face of life-changing events and collaborates to tackle the causes and symptoms of poverty.
The Director of Income and External Affairs will lead the fundraising team to increase voluntary income so they can achieve more impact for the people the organisation serves. The Director will ideally have a background in high-value fundraising and will enjoy working across revenue streams managed by talented fundraisers.
Turn2us are particularly interested in the potential of their new Director of External Affairs rather than a perfect career or education. Get in touch should you wish to learn more.
We welcome candidates from a diverse range of backgrounds. Please let us know if we can help you with the application process in any way. We are more than happy to make any reasonable adjustments to enable all interested candidates to apply.
In order to apply please submit your CV in the first instance and begin to prepare your supporting statement. Should your experience be suitable, we will send you the full job description and will arrange for a call and/or meeting to brief you on the role. You'll then have all the information you need to formally apply. We are looking forward to connecting with you soon.

The Role
With the demands for our welfare services rising due to the pandemic, our corporate partnerships are more important than ever, helping us raise money and awareness nationally. During this year’s lockdowns, our corporate partners have helped us reach new audiences and find new ways for the public to support our vital work. Next year, the Legion celebrates its 100th anniversary as a charity and a century of support for the Armed Forces community. With lots of exciting activities planned already, our partnerships will be exceptionally busy, so we will need a proficient corporate fundraiser to help us bring these plans to life.
With a tailored and creative approach, the Legion’s Corporate Partnerships team builds and develops mutually beneficial relationships with some of the UK’s most successful companies. Through a growing portfolio of partnerships, we secure a huge range of benefits for the Armed Forces community, whilst delivering tangible commercial results for our business partners.
As Corporate Partnerships Officer, you will need to balance three key priorities: supporting an account manager with the daily delivery of a number of major partnerships; helping the wider team with its administrative tasks and working on critical collaborative projects; and taking on direct management responsibility for one or more of our mid value partnerships.
You will need to have an eye for detail and an organised approach to deal effectively with complex organisations. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with partners and colleagues alike and be keen to learn from them. You should be
motivated and self-sufficient, though equally committed to working collaboratively as part of a busy team.
The role is primarily office based in London, however, due to COVID 19, you will start working from home. This role would likely begin remotely and then follow government and organisational guidelines on returning to the office.
