As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of our marketing and communications work. You’ll turn ideas into action, delivering engaging campaigns, compelling storytelling and consistent communications across all our channels. Working closely with the team across Become, external stakeholders and care-experienced young people to grow our reach, you'll build brand trust and strengthen our position as the national voice for care-experienced young people.

Location

Our team work remotely from home, with some required in-person meetings (generally expected once or twice per month). In-person meetings usually take place in our office space in Old Street, London and Become covers the cost of travel within Great Britain for essential in-person meetings.

The Old Street office space is available for team members to work from if preferred/needed. For non-London based team members hot-desking options near you can be requested if required.

Role purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide expert employment law advice and support to Citizens Advice Lewisham leadership and the wider organisation. Role overview 

Our Recruitment Team works closely with experienced professionals, helping them navigate a life-changing move into teaching and feel part of the Now Teach community from day one. 

As Recruitment Co-Ordinator will play a critical role in providing strong administrative support to the Recruitment Team in helping experienced professionals successfully transition into teaching, building high-quality pipelines of career changers who can make a lasting impact in schools and on pupils’ outcomes.

We're looking for an exceptional content creator who understands the Ocean and knows how to make people care about it.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role with significant ownership. You will own content planning and community management across social media, web and newsletters. You'll be responsible for Ocean Generation's digital content and engagement, from deciding what stories we tell and how we tell them, through to creating, publishing, engaging with our community of 170,000+, analysing performance and improving what we do next.

We're a small, ambitious team on a mission to make Ocean Literacy accessible to millions of people. So, you'll need to be comfortable transforming Ocean science and educational programme outputs into compelling storytelling across social media, newsletters, and our website, taking the whole process from spotting an opportunity and developing the idea through to creating, publishing and owning the result.

We're particularly interested in people who already understand the Ocean or marine sector and have a proven track record of creating compelling social content.

Conditions

• Reports to: Co-Executive Director (Content & Engagement)
• Salary: £30,000–£32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract. As this is a new role, it is initially being offered on a fixed-term basis, with a strong likelihood of becoming permanent following review.
• Working Hours: This is a full-time role based on a 37.5-hour working week, worked across five days. We are committed to flexible working and operate core collaboration hours of 10am–4pm, Monday to Thursday. Outside of these core hours, employees have flexibility over when they work their remaining hours, subject to the needs of the organisation.
• Working Environment: Ocean Generation is a digital-first, home-based organisation, enabling us to maintain a geographically dispersed and diverse team while maximising our investment in our charitable aims. Main Responsibilities 

We are looking for highly motivated and organised individual to coordinate our accreditation scheme. The role will work with our network of employers, and support new organisations through the accreditation process.

Person specification

The Role

We are seeking a creative, organised and audience-focused Social Media Officer to help myaware develop a more coordinated, consistent and effective social media presence.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in how myaware reaches, supports and engages people affected by myasthenia, as well as families, carers, supporters, fundraisers, healthcare professionals and the wider public. The role will help move myaware’s social media activity from a reactive, team-by-team approach to a more planned and strategic function that supports awareness, fundraising, professional services, membership growth, community engagement and brand consistency.

Working closely with the IT and Digital Communications Manager, Fundraising, Professional Services and colleagues across the organisation, you will help plan, create, schedule and evaluate social media content across myaware’s channels. You will support the development of a social media content calendar, create clear and engaging copy, produce accessible and brand-aligned graphics, and help teams turn their knowledge, updates and campaign activity into content that works for myaware’s audiences.

You will also support the development of reusable templates, clearer content processes, social media reporting, and appropriate use of tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud and AI-assisted content creation. The role will involve helping myaware make stronger use of formats such as posts, carousels, Stories, Reels, short-form video, polls and direct-message-led campaign activity, while ensuring content remains accurate, sensitive, accessible and appropriate for a health charity.

The Social Media Officer will be predominantly home based within the UK, with occasional travel required. Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with experience creating social media content for an organisation, charity, campaign, community group or similar setting. You will be confident writing clear and engaging copy for different audiences, using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube or similar, and creating or adapting simple graphics using tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or equivalent.

You will understand how social media can support awareness, fundraising, services, membership and community engagement, and you will be able to plan and organise content across multiple priorities. The Hygiene Bank is looking for a creative, strategic and proactive Communications & Marketing Manager to raise awareness of hygiene poverty, strengthen our influence and inspire people, businesses and communities to take action. This pivotal role will shape our voice as a growing national charity, leading communications and marketing activity across the organisation and with an exciting range of partners. 

Working collaboratively across the organisation and with external partners, the postholder will protect our brand integrity and ensure our messaging is clear, ethical and impactful. They will help amplify the voices of people experiencing hygiene poverty and strengthen engagement with volunteers, community partners, supporters and the public who share our mission to end hygiene poverty. This is a varied, creative and meaningful role at the heart of our mission to ensure everyone has access to the hygiene essentials they need.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Communications Plan and Content Creation

• Develop and deliver the annual communications and marketing plan, working with senior leadership to align activity with organisational priorities. 

• Plan, create and manage high-quality written, visual and multimedia content across media, social media, newsletters, presentations, speeches and campaign collateral. 

• Ensure all communications are accurate, impactful and consistent with The Hygiene Bank’s mission, values, tone of voice and brand guidelines. 

• Translate complex or sensitive issues around hygiene poverty into compelling stories that engage supporters and partners. 

• Provide strategic communications support for key campaigns and partnerships, including National Hygiene Week, fundraising campaigns and work with partners such as Boots, Unilever and smol. 

• Oversee approval processes, brand resources and organised filing systems for communications materials. 

2. Digital Strategy and Implementation 

• Lead digital planning, delivery and maintenance across the website, email, social media and digital campaigns. 

• Manage digital advertising activity, including paid social, Google Ads and SEO, ensuring activity is effective and delivers strong return on investment. 

• Oversee analytics, reporting and insight-driven optimisation, using performance data to guide your own work and the work of the Communications Officer. 

3. Ambassadors and Influencers 

• Build and nurture relationships with ambassadors, influencers and public supporters. 

• Develop briefs, guidance and campaign plans for influencer activity, ensuring messaging aligns with organisational values and priorities. 

• Identify opportunities to amplify diverse lived experiences and voices. 

4. Events and Campaigns 

• Lead promotional activity for national and regional events, campaigns and awareness moments, including activity with brand and corporate partners. 

• Support branding and communications for in-person and digital events, producing event-related content such as photography, video and social media. 

• Collaborate with corporate partners to produce co-branded communications and collateral that protect our brand integrity and align with partner requirements. 

5. External Engagement and media 

• Lead communications for collaborative campaigns, including End Hygiene Poverty with In Kind Direct, coordinating activity, messaging and campaign assets. 

• Build relationships with sector organisations and partners to amplify shared campaigns, priorities and messaging. 

• Secure local, regional and national media coverage, working with external agencies to develop broadcast, print and online opportunities. 

• Produce press releases, statements, case studies and briefing materials to support proactive and reactive media activity. 

• Manage suppliers, agencies and freelancers, including budgets where required. 
   

6. Data and Monitoring 

• Monitor communications performance using analytics and performance data, ad use insights to improve performance. 

• Prepare an annual review of communications performance and learning to inform future planning. 

7. Team and Internal Communications 

• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support organisation-wide communications needs, providing guidance on messaging. 

• Line manage, support and develop the Communications Officer, empowering them to succeed in their role. 

• Provide responsive and practical communications support to colleagues across the organisation.

EXPERIENCE 

With experience working in communications and/or marketing, you will be able to demonstrate: 

• Experience using a range of communications and digital tools, including content creation, email marketing, website, social media, analytics and CRM platforms. 

• Strong copywriting skills, adapting content for different audiences, channels and formats. 

• Experience producing high-quality marketing and communications materials across digital and offline channels. 

• Experience communicating effectively and building relationships with a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders. 

• Strong digital and IT skills, with the confidence to learn and adopt new tools and platforms. 

• Experience working within the charity sector or for a mission-led organisation or brand is desirable, but not essential. 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

• Salary: £38,000 

• Full time role, or four days per week.

• Home-based contract, with occasional travel across the UK – including at least one trip to London per month for team meetings. Reasonable travel costs will be covered.
