Job Title: Night Recovery Worker

Location: Based within Bedfordshire. We are pleased to confirm that step free access is available for this service. The building is approximately a 10 minute walk from Bedford Station.

Salary: £26,200

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday, working 12.5 hour shifts on a rota 21:30 to 08:30. You may be required to work outside these hours as well as bank holidays in line with the needs of the residents and service.

About the Role

We're hiring a Night Recovery Worker to join our team in Bedfordshire and help deliver our new mental health step down service, opening in April 2026. This is an 11 bedded, community based mental health crisis and step down service offering short stay, trauma informed support and psychologically informed alternative to hospital admission and facilities, forming part of the wider Urgent and Emergency Care pathway.

The service supports people at risk of admission who can be safely supported in the community, helping them overcome personal barriers, achieve their goals and access a range of opportunities, including education, community involvement and skill development. In this role, you will provide person centred, psychologically informed support, contribute to rehabilitation and reintegration and ensure the safe and effective running of the night service. You will play a vital role in admission avoidance, flow and discharge, supporting residents to rebuild their lives while maintaining quality, consistency, and contractual outcomes within a trauma and psychologically informed environment.

Some key responsibilities include: 

• Being the main point of contact for our residents, helping to create and update their support and risk plans; Ensure the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times
• Work collaboratively with external teams such as crisis resolution teams, community mental health teams, Inpatient Wards, and other crisis alternatives e.g. Recovery Lounges etc. We are looking to build an effective and knowledgeable staff team to deliver this exciting provision
• Providing safe, 24/7 short-stay support to avoid unnecessary hospital admission
• Supporting with the creation of tailored support plans in collaboration with the wider team and resident.
• Monitoring residents’ wellbeing during the night, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies.
• Providing step-down capacity for individuals ready to leave acute wards but not yet ready for independent living.
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities such as movie nights, cooking evenings, and games nights
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service
• Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns when needed.
• Support residents with taking their medication and keep accurate records support plans up to date. Build good working relationships with colleagues and outside agencies.

About you

Do you want to use your skills to make it possible for people with myeloma to live longer and better lives?  Are you an experienced event organiser looking for a new challenge?  We are looking for someone with event and project management experience who has excellent communication and relationship building skills to join the team responsible for delivering our programme of events. 

You’ll have good negotiation and presentation skills, a focus on detail and the ability to manage a variety of tasks often to tight deadlines.  You will need a thorough understanding of the principles of event management and how to identify and meet the needs of service users through event delivery as well as knowledge of systems for event evaluation and service improvement.

Previous experience of organising digital events and training or facilitating groups would be an advantage but not essential. 

About the role

The Information Events Coordinator will deliver the patient and family myeloma and AL amyloidosis information events programme consisting of face-to-face and online events hosted by the team and held throughout the UK, developing the strategy for the programme and implementing event activity with the aim to increase participation and attendance.

The role holder will organise the planning, coordination and delivery of the information events programme including administration, promotion and marketing, dealing with event logistics and delivery on the day.  You will monitor the associated income and expenditure for the information events programme ensuring that the programme is delivered to budget.

You will also be responsible for organising the planning and delivery of the digital events programme, dealing with promotion and marketing and taking ownership of technical aspects of running online events as well as developing marketing material and a publicity and communications strategy for the information events programme.

We are seeking an experienced fractional Programme Manager to design and embed an agile and proportional PMO, strengthen portfolio-level delivery and support the Director of Operations to shape and establish this delivery team. The role combines strategic setup with hands-on delivery.

Outcomes by month 6

• A clear, proportionate PMO model agreed and in use with standard templates and guidance; 

• A prioritisation and intake process agreed and used by SLT, supported by clear portfolio-level reporting for SLT and trustees;

What you bring

• Senior programme or portfolio management experience, with a track record of delivering complex, cross-team initiatives;

• Proven experience designing and embedding PMOs or organisation-wide delivery frameworks;

• Strong working knowledge of project and programme management approaches (e.g. Agile, hybrid etc), and the ability to apply them to match organisational size, scale and capacity;

• Confidence using work management platforms to drive planning, visibility and accountability (experience with Asana is an advantage);

The Role

Reporting to the Associate Director of Legal and Governance, the Legal and Governance Business Partner will lead on the provision of support to the charity’s staff and volunteers on all legal and governance matters.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Advising on legal issues relating to the charity’s activities, including reviewing a variety of contracts, such as fundraising contracts and contracts for goods and services.
• Advising on the legal aspects of tendering for commissioned services from NHS bodies and local authorities, including advising on procurement matters and NHS Model contracts.
• Advising on partnerships with other organisations to achieve the objects of the charity.
• Advising the CEO, Executive Directors and Trustees on governance matters, including charity law and company law; drafting policies, terms of reference and other governance documents, and correspondence with regulators.
• Maintaining the charity’s risk register and arranging appropriate insurance cover.

About You

You will have:

• A valid practising certificate as a solicitor/barrister and 4 years’ minimum post qualification experience, preferably including relevant experience advising not for profit organisations.
• A demonstrable interest in the charity sector.
• Good communication skills, and an ability to translate complex legal matters into easily understood legal advice.
• Excellent prioritisation skills.

Our platform uses a mix of these technologies today, and you’ll play a key role in helping us evolve it over time, improving reliability, consistency and usability for teams across Woodgreen. - £25,221 - £27,780 FTE per annum (£15,132.60 – £16,668 per annum for part-time, 22.2 hours per week)  

- Additionally, £480 home-based allowance FTE per annum (£288 per annum for part-time, 22.2 hours per week)

Main Responsibilities:

• Working with the Grants Manager on the day-to-day administration of Family Action’s Grants Programmes.
• Assessing Grant Applications.
• Being a key point of contact for grant recipients and members of the public providing assistance and information about Family Action’s grants service.
• Assisting with maintaining strong working relationships with Family Action’s partner organisations and providing information about the Grants Service both to external and internal services.

• Have a non-judgemental, reliable and professional approach in dealing sensitively with vulnerable individuals via email and telephone.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong IT and administration skills.

Assistant Director of Operations
Salary: £72,000 per annum
Work Pattern: This is a permanent contract, working full time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week.
Location: Based at any of our Wetland Discovery Sites – Castle Espie BT23, Washington NE38, Martin Mere L40, Slimbridge GL2, Llanelli SA14, London SW13 or Arundel BN18.
For this role we can offer the opportunity for hybrid working. It is expected the role will need you to be present at each of your sites on a regular basis, at least once per month.

About The Role

WWT is the charity for wetlands.

This is a critical role in the recently restructured Operations Directorate at WWT. As Assistant Director, you will be directly responsible for the performance of our 7 Wetland Discovery sites. You will provide inspiring and professional leadership to your teams, whilst proactively collaborating cross organisation and externally.

Your focus will be on driving meaningful improvements at sites across our three ambitions of Restore, Inspire and Thrive, with emphasis on financial performance driven by visitor experiences. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will directly manage two Heads of Operations, a Head of Retail and Head of Catering. You will indirectly lead more than 400 staff and volunteers across Living Collections, Reserve Management, Visitor Experience, Trading, Marketing, Facilities and Grounds.

You will work closely with Health & Safety and Sustainability leads to ensure good governance and compliance at sites and across the Operations Directorate.

You will have a background working in visitor attractions or a very similar sector, coupled with a passion for purpose-led organisations and a keen interest in the environment. You will be an inspiring leader with high levels of emotional intelligence and values & behaviours that align with WWT.

About You

To join as our Assistant Director of Operations, you will need to evidence:

• Experience in a senior position(s) held in the visitor attraction/events management sectors, directly accountable for site operations and visitor experience throughout the visitor journey.
• Strong skills in leading business planning, financial analysis, budget development and management, and delivery of significant capital projects across £multi-million business unit(s).
• Demonstrable ability to recruit, performance manage and motivate large (>100) diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
• The ability to develop, communicate and implement strategic change, turning organisational vision into improvements at scale.
• An inspirational and empathetic leadership style, able to role model an organisation’s values and behaviours, and to evidence strong emotional intelligence. Able to prioritise effectively, to collaborate, network and influence internally and externally at a senior level.
• A highly creative and inquisitive mindset, able to spot and exploit potential opportunities, keen to explore, test and learn as a means of driving continual improvement and excellence in the visitor experience.
