Purpose of the Role

The Youth Advisor will deliver an agile, locally responsive youth employment programme aimed at supporting young people aged 16–24 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET) or face significant barriers to work. This role will coordinate partnerships, ensure high-quality service provision, and drive outcomes that reduce youth unemployment and promote social inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Delivery & Coordination
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Youth Hub, ensuring services run 4–5 days per week.
• Manage co-located services and maintain strong partnerships with Jobcentre Plus, local authorities, and community organisations.
• Ensure the presence of a DWP Youth Work Coach on-site for 3–4 days weekly to provide integrated support.
• Partnership Development
• Secure and manage partnerships with a support agencies including organisations delivering housing support, mental health services, budgeting advice, training, and employability support. Encourage local organisations to use the hub and to deliver training and workshops.
• Collaborate with employers to fill hard-to-recruit vacancies and create innovative pathways for young people.
• Youth Engagement & Support
• Engage with young people, providing 1:1 diagnostic assessments and personalised action plans. Assist candidates with identifying their skills, provide advice & guidance, and provide practical help to support young people get and/or sustain work.
• Deliver mentoring and confidence-building activities to inspire and motivate young people.
• Provide signposting and referrals to mental health, housing, budgeting, and training services.
• Performance Monitoring & Reporting
• Track progress against key targets with a commitment to meet agreed performance goals.
• Effectively use a CRM system and generate reports to share the programmes outcomes.
• Attend monthly review meetings with stakeholders.
• Digital Inclusion & Accessibility
• Support young people in overcoming digital barriers to access online job opportunities and services.
• Ensure services are available through multiple channels (face-to-face, online, phone).
• Teamwork
• Working as part of a wider team of youth advisors to share best practice, attend training and work together to achieve key performance indicators.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience in partnership management and service coordination within youth employment, education, or community development sectors.
• Strong understanding of NEET challenges and barriers to employment.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders, including employers, training providers, and public sector organisations.
• Knowledge of mental health support, housing advice, and budgeting services.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
