This role is a full time position and reports to the Director of People + Operations. 

This is a mission critical role that helps us build seamless, smart, and compliant operations for our organisation. The overall remit of this role is to:

1. Support on key aspects of financial management across budget development and forecasting, monthly reporting, and managing our external finance partners.

2. Managing domestic and international payroll via our employment partners, and managing vendors and contracting. 

3. Support on general operations across systems and software administration, and compliance practices.

Financial Management + Forecasting

• Support work on annual and multi-year budget forecasts, based on programming needs and organizational trajectory 

• Develop and maintain budget forecasting tools for departments to manage their annual budgets, to help inform strategic decision-making

• Manage organization’s cash flow to ensure financial stability across restricted and unrestricted funding

• Allocate staff, program, and operational costs to appropriate grants and work with finance partners to create budget systems to assign and track that spend

• Oversee work of our external bookkeeping and accounting partner–Jitasa–and serve as their main point person

• Develop cost types and appropriate coding for all expenses, and manage correct use of them

• Ensure all expense policies and internal controls are in line with best practices, up to date, clear and accessible to staff, and consistently referenced

Payroll + Vendor Payment

• Oversee and execute payroll cycles for all employees and contractors, through our domestic and international PEO, and vendor management platform

• Oversee  relevant local and state taxes and reporting, in line with US PEO requirements

• Responsible for payroll administration such as new hire documentation and processing standard payroll on a monthly basis and any payroll changes

• Manage contracting process, liaising with outside legal counsel when required

• Get vendors, contractors and new contracts set up in our contract management system

• Run due diligence processes in accordance with our due diligence policy

• Ensure and execute reimbursements for all employees in line with expense policies

• Prepare and issue any relevant tax documents for vendors and contractors

Funder Engagement + Reporting

• Work with the fundraising team to develop programme budgets for proposals 

• Manage financial reporting requirements during and at the end of each grant cycle

• Review draft donor agreements prior to legal, and set up grants in Climate Catalyst systems to allocate staff time and expenses accordingly

Annual Reporting + Compliance

• Support the Board Treasurer, CEO, and Jitasa in coordination of annual reporting to relevant authorities 

• Support annual audit preparation by serving as the internal coordinator for all requirements and documents as requested by auditors

Business Operations + Additional Support

• Manage all software and team systems, including access, permissions, and renewals

• Ensure all systems and data are managed in compliance with GDPR and other data protection legislation

• Ensure team data protection policies are up to date, relevant and adhered to

• Serve as the main point of contact to Climate Catalyst’s insurance broker and manage insurance policies – ensuring all policies are clearly accessible and paid in a timely fashion.

• Fill out and maintain all relevant lobbying documentation for the US, Europe, and any other relevant jurisdictions

• Ensure that all policies, trademarking, and terms of service are up to date on our website

• Support in material development for Board budget presentations

• Manage existing technology and equipment inventory and procure new equipment for all new hires and support in onboarding and offboarding as required

• Identify and implement systems and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

The Corporate Volunteering Manager plays a central role in this by managing our successful and impactful Corporate Volunteering Programme. Each year through this programme, we train hundreds of volunteers from our corporate partners to visit primary schools and share examples of how maths has helped them as adults, both in their careers and personal lives.

This crucial work helps change us to the inter-generational narrative about numeracy in the UK. Maths is not just something you ‘have to do at school’, but is a valuable skill that helps us get on at work, and manage our time and our money. The programme has been running for three years now, and this year’s activity looks set to have meaningful impact on at least 17,000 children across the UK.

You will be responsible for ensuring that volunteers are adequately trained, for recruiting appropriate schools for them to visit, and all the admin and reporting that supports the programme.

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy levels amongst people in prison?

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes across a number of prisons. To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the west midlands region who is able to travel to cover sites in the wider area too. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the Central region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including possible overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed. In this role you will support our team to ensure that Uplift’s and its partners’ work uses research, insight, and intelligence to maximise our impact. From ensuring our campaigns are informed by the latest data and analysis to conducting research to inform decision-makers, partners, and the broader movement, this is a diverse role at the heart of our work supporting a just transition away from oil and gas extraction. The successful candidate will have exceptional quantitative research skills and a keen interest in climate and energy-related campaigns. Head of Programmes is a key role with significant scope to grow as the charity evolves. You’ll lead on the day-to-day delivery of our programmes, including our largest single programme, Maths Circles: a small-group-based maths enrichment programme engaging talented young mathematicians nationwide. You will coordinate a large community of volunteers as well as our in-house team of part-time and freelance staff to deliver an excellent experience for students, parents, tutors and partners.

We’re seeking a project manager to lead this work with our trusted industry partners, working in collaboration with employers, local and combined authorities, schools and charities. About the Role 

Neuroendocrine Cancer UK is entering an exciting phase of growth and development. To make the greatest difference, we need to grow in a way that is structured and sustainable, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for our first Director of Operations: a strategic, hands-on leader who can turn vision into action and passion into plans. Working closely with our new CEO, you’ll ensure that our people, systems, and processes all work together to deliver effectively for the communities we serve.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the organisation’s future. You’ll combine strategic oversight with operational delivery across key areas including HR, finance, compliance, governance, IT, and organisational processes. As a senior leadership team member, you’ll strengthen internal systems, support staff and make sure day-to-day operations align fully with our mission, values, and strategic goals.

Ultimately, you will help build the strong foundations and infrastructure that enable Neuroendocrine Cancer UK to grow sustainably, deliver high-quality services, and deepen its impact for the communities we support.

About the Charity 

We are Neuroendocrine Cancer UK. We exist to address the unmet needs voiced by the neuroendocrine cancer community, supporting patients and their loved ones with the physical and psychological burden of neuroendocrine cancers. Through awareness, research, better funding and support, we can give our community the attention it deserves

Our vision is for a world in which people know how to recognise, diagnose, treat, care for, and cure patients with neuroendocrine cancer.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Operational Oversight and Delivery 

• Lead and manage a small in-house operations team (2 staff members) and oversee the work of external consultants as required to deliver operational plans aligned with strategic goals. 
   
• Drive the successful delivery of existing services, overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and to a high standard while supporting the implementation of new initiatives and improvements. 

• Ensure systems and processes are fit for purpose and support delivery of strategic goals. 
   
• Management and maintenance of the Salesforce system.
   
• Maintain oversight of service development, ensuring it reflects user feedback and sector innovation (with Directors/Managers). 

• Lead audits and evaluations to ensure service effectiveness and continuous improvement. 

2. Governance and Compliance (working with CEO) 

• Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation, including safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety. 

• Develop and oversee policies and procedures that uphold good governance, safeguarding, GDPR, digital governance, and ethical standards. 

• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Data Protection Officer (DPO). 

• Provide assurance to the CEO and Board on compliance and operational risk. 

3. Financial Stewardship and Operational Management 

• Support the CEO in ensuring financial sustainability. 

• Oversee day-to-day budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management. 

• Ensure timely processing of payments, payroll, and contracts. 

• Support income generation through sound financial planning and operational oversight. 
   
• Review all processes, procedures & delegations and suggest updates as necessary.

4. People and Organisational Development 

• Support the CEO to recruit and induct staff.

• Work with CEO to oversee HR matters including performance management (with HR support). 

• Prioritise staff wellbeing, engagement, and professional development. 

• Support the CEO in succession planning and building organisational resilience. 

5. Service Quality and Improvement 

• Work with relevant management team to ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with user needs and feedback. 

• Monitor performance and report on impact to CEO and trustees. 

• Drive operational improvements and support the development of new initiatives. 

6. Insight, Data, and Continuous Improvement 

• Collect, analyse, and report operational data to support decision-making. 

• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, and audits to ensure accountability and learning. 

• Support research and innovation projects by ensuring operational systems are robust and effective. 
• Work with the board & CEO to review all processes, procedures & suggest updates as necessary.

About you

You’re an experienced operational leader who thrives on making things work — strategically, efficiently, and with people at the heart of it all. You know how to turn plans into action and are equally comfortable shaping systems, managing budgets, or guiding a team through change.

You bring strong leadership experience, a deep understanding of good people management practices, and sound knowledge of compliance, safeguarding, and data protection. You’re confident managing financial systems and overseeing budgets, and you know how to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

You’re at your best in collaborative, purposeful environments — someone who communicates clearly, builds trust, and helps others do their best work. You’re also pragmatic and calm under pressure, able to bring clarity and stability as the organisation grows and evolves.

Above all, you’re motivated by purpose. You share our commitment to the mission and values of Neuroendocrine Cancer UK, and you want to use your operational skills to help an organisation with real impact go even further.

Essential 

• Proven experience in operational leadership and management

• Strong knowledge of people management practices, compliance, safeguarding, and data protection. 

• Experience of managing budgets and overseeing financial systems. 

• Strong line management and team development, with the ability to lead staff and volunteers. 

• Excellent communication and organisational skills. 

• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

Desirable:

• Experience in a small charity or nonprofit organisation. 
• Experience of charity governance
• A relevant qualification in safeguarding, HR, or data protection
• Experience managing Salesforce or similar CRM systems

Growing Together Levenshulme are looking for a Support Manager to work with asylum seekers and refugees, based at our therapeutic garden in Levenshulme, Manchester. You will join our People Support team (currently 1 staff and 6 volunteers), providing meaningful and impacting support to our project participants.
