About the Role

We are looking to recruit a permanent Finance Manager to join our busy finance team, working 30-37 hours per week, over a minimum of 4 days.

As Finance Manager, you will:-

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership of the finance team, including supervision, workload coordination, ongoing staff development and continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
• Act as the main link between the Finance Director and the Finance Team, translating strategic direction into clear, effective delivery.
• Lead month-end processes including the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts, maintaining strong balance sheet control and exercising sound judgement on complex financial issues.
• Oversee income, credit control, cashflow, short-term forecasting and the administration of the finance system, ensuring data integrity, high-quality management information and appropriate escalation of risks or pressures.
• Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as required.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support financial understanding, compliance and the effective resolution of issues.
• Act as the first point of escalation for operational finance issues, escalating to the Finance Director as appropriate.

About You

We need you to bring:

• AAT Level 4 Qualification or significant equivalent finance experience in a similar role, with responsibility for management accounts, reconciliations and income monitoring.
• Experience coordinating month-end processes and working across multiple income streams, contracts or funding arrangements.
• A methodical, organised approach to prioritising work and managing competing deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and sound professional judgement, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues, identify financial and organisational risk and escalate issues appropriately.
• Experience supervising, supporting and developing others within a finance setting, with a collaborative leadership style and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Confidence using financial systems and Microsoft Excel at an intermediate to advanced level.

The following attributes are also desirable:-

• Experience working in the voluntary or charitable sector, including knowledge of SORP accounting, year-end accounts and liaison with auditors.

We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester, providing access to quality-assured support. At the heart of this role is our ambition that no male survivor is left behind. You will support the CEO to keep that ambition visible in their day-to-day work, helping them stay focused on the conversations and opportunities that can create meaningful change for male survivors.

This is more than an administrative role. You will help the CEO manage their priorities and prepare for important meetings. You will also help We Are Survivors engage and influence at the local, regional, and national levels. Your work will help ensure that the experiences of male survivors are heard in the places where decisions are made.

As someone working closely with the CEO, you will often be a first point of contact for people inside and outside the organisation. You should feel confident managing sensitive information and recognising when something needs the CEO’s immediate attention.

Key Responsibilities

• As part of a regional team, assist in the operational delivery of all dog welfare services ensuring best practice.
• Collaborate with the Dog Triage and veterinary services teams to provide in person advice and practical support as appropriate to volunteers and clients within the designated geographical area.

Skills and Competencies

• Vocational qualification specific to canine health and welfare to NVQ level 3 or equivalent.

2. OR equivalent qualifications, or experience.

• Able to meet the travel requirements of the role which involves transporting dogs. In the absence of a full valid UK Driving License, you will be expected to demonstrate how you will fulfil this aspect of the role via alternative means.

The role

We're recruiting for a Programme Delivery Officer to join our Programme Operations team and play a key role in supporting the delivery and evolution of Mary's Meals school feeding programme operations around the world.

Working closely with Programme Affiliates, Programme Partners and colleagues across Mary's Meals International, you'll help ensure that the systems, processes and information that underpin programme delivery are effective, consistent and fit for purpose. The role

Progression Coach

We are seeking a proactive Progression Coach to help young people at risk of homelessness secure housing, strengthen their finances and build brighter futures.

Salary: £29,481 per annum
Location: Manchester
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, full time

About the role

As Progression Coach, you will join a close-knit and supportive team working with young people aged 18 to 25 who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.

Managing your own caseload, you will provide personalised one-to-one support within the community. You will help young people find and maintain accommodation, improve their financial stability, build supportive social networks and engage in employment, education, training or other meaningful activities.

You will receive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and apply its principles to help young people develop resilience, motivation and independence.

Your key responsibilities will include:

· Managing a large caseload and delivering person-centred, strengths-based support

· Completing high-quality risk assessments and SMART, outcome-focused support plans

· Delivering one-to-one support in the community and occasionally facilitating group sessions

· Safeguarding young people and responding appropriately to concerns and emergencies

· Maintaining accurate and timely records on the client database

· Building partnerships with statutory services, private landlords, charities and community organisations

· Involving young people in decisions about their support

· Working with internal and external evaluation teams to improve service delivery

· Participating in supervision, caseload reviews, appraisals and team meetings

About you

You will have experience of supporting young people affected by homelessness, mental ill health, substance use or limited access to opportunities. Comfortable working autonomously in the community, you will be organised, resilient and able to maintain positive relationships in a busy environment.

We are looking for a bold and curious Senior Investigative Researcher who can uncover emerging trends, speak sensitively to women about their experiences, interrogate evidence and turn what they discover into compelling public stories.

This is not a traditional desk-based research role. You might come from journalism, research, campaigning or another investigative background; we care less about job titles and qualifications than your instinct to ask, “But is that actually true?”

Over 12 months, you will lead two major projects on women’s financial equality. We want this role to have significant freedom to follow emerging stories about how women make money and the trends and shifts that affect our financial equality. This could be content creator economics, extreme beauty trends, or the femosphere.

The Organisation

We are working with a well-established UK not-for-profit organisation with annual income of approximately £150 million. Operating at significant scale and complexity, the organisation manages a diverse range of income streams including donations, legacies, grant and contract funding, trading activity and investment income. The finance function plays a key role in supporting strong governance, compliance and decision-making across the organisation.

The Job

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional to take ownership of all tax matters within a large and complex organisation. Working closely with senior finance colleagues and external advisers, you will act as the organisation's lead technical expert on VAT, Corporation Tax and Gift Aid, ensuring robust compliance, governance and risk management. You will provide practical advice to senior stakeholders, helping the organisation understand and navigate the tax implications of operational and strategic decisions.
