About the Role

Reporting to the Service Director, you will provide comprehensive executive support, enabling them to operate efficiently and effectively across a broad range of strategic priorities.

You will manage diaries, meetings, communications and travel arrangements, whilst coordinating Service Leadership Team activities and ensuring actions, projects and governance requirements are delivered on time. You'll act as a trusted liaison across the charity, building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and helping to keep the Service Director connected to key priorities, events and opportunities.

Alongside executive support responsibilities, you'll have the opportunity to lead small projects, prepare reports and briefings, and contribute to the smooth running of the wider Service Directorate.

This is a varied and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders and make a meaningful contribution to the work Help for Heroes delivers for the Armed Forces Community.

About You

You'll be highly organised, adaptable and confident working independently whilst managing multiple priorities. You will have excellent communication skills and be comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar role supporting a senior executive or director-level leader.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience coordinating meetings, diaries, travel arrangements and action tracking.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build positive working relationships across teams.

  • Experience managing small projects and producing reports, presentations or briefing materials.

  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 and a proactive approach to learning new systems and ways of working.

  • The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.

You'll be values-driven, collaborative and motivated by the opportunity to support senior leadership in delivering meaningful outcomes for veterans, serving personnel and their families.

About the Team

Our Service Directorate delivers integrated support and community initiatives across the UK, all aligned with our LiveWell Strategy, ensuring every member of the Armed Forces Community can live well after service.

You’ll join a team of passionate, purpose-driven professionals committed to improving the quality, consistency and impact of our services for veterans, serving personnel and their families. Working closely with colleagues across the charity, you’ll help support our strategic priorities and ensure we continue to deliver services that make a meaningful difference to the Armed Forces Community.
