About the role
As the key contact for Sported groups across Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey, you'll play a vital role in helping community led organisations grow, become more sustainable and maximise their impact. You'll build effective relationships with these groups, understand their challenges and opportunities, and connect them to the support, resources and funding they need to thrive. This involves welcoming new groups to our network and supporting existing ones to develop.
Working closely with colleagues, volunteer consultants and partners, you'll help deliver projects and programmes that strengthens and develops them and creates positive outcomes for people and communities. You'll also contribute to volunteer engagement, partnership development, grant administration and project evaluation, while ensuring accurate records and data are maintained across your area.
About You
Are you passionate about the power of sport to strengthen communities and change lives? We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting grassroots organisations, ideally within sport (but please still apply if not in the sport sector), and who shares our commitment to inclusion, equality and positive social change.
You'll be a confident relationship-builder with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and the ability to build trust with a wide range of people. Organised and able to manage competing priorities, you'll be comfortable working independently while contributing to a collaborative remote team. You will also possessing a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and have experience of database management.

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Fundraising Development Officer to lead the development and delivery, raising funds to support Woodland Trust priorities and specific projects focused within Northern Ireland.
This role is advertised as full-time, 37.5 hours per week, however we would consider applications from those wanting reduced hours at 30 per week.
The Role:
- You will work alongside the Northern Ireland team to create, implement and deliver an agreed Northern Ireland fundraising plan for all relevant areas including Treescapes and consideration of relevant Acquisitions.
- Create, build and nurture relationships with donors, trusts, foundations, partners and organisations, creating opportunities that inspire long-term support and blended giving, including leaving a gift in will.
- Develop and deliver compelling funding plans, proposals, grant applications and Northern Ireland focused appeals to meet fundraising targets.
- Be a key Northern Ireland advocate working with UK colleagues to ensure that they see the importance, beauty, passion and impact of Northern Ireland woodlands and projects to ensure wider UK funding secured.
- Play a key role in planning and supporting philanthropy events across Northern Ireland and on occasion the wider UK, maximising opportunities to engage supporters.
- Drive forward exciting projects, working with passionate colleagues, partners and supporters to deliver impactful fundraising campaigns.
- Bring creativity and energy to events, proposals and bespoke opportunities, all while ensuring best practice and compliance in fundraising.
- This is a homebased role, with access to WTNI office in Clandeboye Estate, requiring regular travel to locations within the Northern Ireland landscape, sometimes to remote locations. You would be expected to live within reasonable travelling distance of your area of responsibility. Occasional travel to regional offices and overnight stays will be required.
- This is a fixed term contract for 13 months.
The Candidate:
- Experience working in fundraising, the third sector or within a targeted communications environment.
- Confidence in planning and developing engaging materials tailored to different audiences and objectives.
- Strong communication skills and are comfortable using both formal and informal methods to inspire and connect with a wide range of individuals.
- Exceptional planning and organisational abilities, especially in busy, target-driven environments.
- Experience in negotiation and collaboration skills, and thrive in partnership work with enthusiasm, influence, and strong networking capabilities.
- A proven track record of securing commitment from individuals at all levels, including major donors.
- Strong commercial awareness and understand the dynamics of relevant markets.
- IT literate, with solid experience using Microsoft Office and managing databases.
- Full clean driving licence

Could you use the power of media to help those stories reach more people?
As our Regional Media Officer, you'll help bring these stories to life. You'll create media coverage that raises awareness, influences change and inspires people to support Alzheimer's Society.
Reporting to the Regional Media Manager, you'll work across the region. You'll deliver media activity that supports our campaigns, fundraising, services, research and local influencing priorities.
You'll help strengthen our reputation as a trusted voice on dementia.
No two days will be the same. You might be finding a powerful story one day, responding to breaking news the next, or supporting a spokesperson before an interview. You'll help create campaigns that reach and engage people.

Contract:This is a permanent, part-time role working Monday to Wednesday.
Location: You'll be home based, with occasional travel across Northern Ireland, North East England and North West England to build relationships, support media activity and connect with local communities. As this is a regional role, you'll need to live in one of the following areas:
- Northern Ireland
- North East England – including Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Durham, Northumberland, Middlesbrough, Stockton-on-Tees, Gateshead and Hartlepool.
- North West England – including Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Cumbria.

What you'll do
How do you turn a story into something that makes people stop, listen and take action?
By building genuine relationships, spotting opportunities and making sure the voices of people affected by dementia are at the heart of what we do.
You'll:
- Develop and deliver regional media plans that support our influencing, fundraising, services, and research.
- Build strong relationships with journalists, colleagues and communities across the region, identifying media opportunities supporting local influencing priorities, promoting Alzheimer’s Society services. Work with people affected by dementia to tell their stories in a way that feels right for them, with care, respect and compassion.
- Create clear, engaging and accessible content, including press releases, statements, briefings, and articles.
- Respond to media enquiries, manage sensitive issues and help protect the reputation of Alzheimer's Society. Support and prepare spokespeople, helping them feel confident when sharing their knowledge and experiences with the media.
- Create engaging content, including photography, video and other digital materials, to bring our campaigns and stories to life.
- Work closely with teams across Alzheimer's Society and with external partners to create greater understanding and support for people affected by dementia.
About you

You'll have experience in communications, media or PR and enjoy using storytelling to make a difference. You'll combine strong media judgement with empathy, curiosity and a desire to understand what matters to people.

- Experience of working in media or PR, with an understanding of what makes a story matter and how to connect with regional and local audiences.

- The ability to stay calm under pressure, manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work when deadlines are tight.
- Strong writing skills and the ability to turn complex information into clear, engaging content for different audiences.
- A collaborative approach, good organisation skills and a commitment to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.
